Same here. I'm constantly trying to find something to do to my '00 LTD. Right now I'm focused on the paint because it's looking rough, especially the roof, but it's still capable of looking flawless (from a distance) after a good wash and wax.
In the last ~5 years since purchasing, I bought it with a 2.5" or so OME lift, diff drop, LBJs, and external trans cooler, but since then I've done:
      tundra brakes
new tires because I got the truck with wild
      replaced the green radiator
      all new fluids, plugs, gaskets
      spark plugs etc
rear axle seals and drum brakes
      timing belt and water pump
spc adjustable UCAs but soon replaced them with jba UCAs (long story)
LED dash, overhead lights, and AC control display
new head unit, hertz and morel door speakers with a kicker key amp, and a small powered sound ordinance sub
replaced two of the 12v plugs with USB inputs for the head unit
I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting
Oh yeah and I removed the rack and completely disassembled, cleaned and repainted the plastic parts and everything that was metal I had powder coated black. It looks amazing
I would like to refinish the valve covers but believe it or not there isn't a hint of a leak from the gaskets

What a clean rig and a great walkthrough of the maintenance these needs. Putting this into my saved videos to come back to when I pick up my own 3rd gen, or Hilux Surf as they're known here in the UK. I grew up in New Zealand running around mountains and farms up on my babyseat in one of these rigs, can't wait to get one of my own now I've got the means. Great video cheers!

I've had my Desert Dune '98 4Runner Limited since December of '05 and it just went over 200K. Decided to keep it and have been working on getting it back to a healthy baseline state since November and it's now there. I've been collecting parts to build it and will definitely be following what you do to this one.

the bad pedal comes from the out of adjustment rear pads... several hard braking in reverse will adjust them out and make the pedal better. .try it!

Love that runner…I had the same 1999 Ltd in Desert Dune and wish I had never sold it! Beautiful! Good move in upgrading the brakes, mine were pulsating and crazy when new…Floyd Hill on I70 scared me to death!

Looks great! Envious of that clean garage and how you guys knocked out all that maintenance! I have the exact same 4R. Picked it up late 2016 one owner 87k miles. Now up to 157k and still runs amazing. Have to get mine oil coated every fall since I’m in the rust belt. Makes it hard to know if that rear axle seal is bad

Hi, I have a few questions. I just got a Toyota Prado J90 1999 with 150 000 Miles on it (240 000 KM). I got a problem with the Hand Brake on the right back wheel. I think I have to tighten the wire but trying to tighten it inside on the handbrake wont tighten it more. Its a new OEM wire so it should not be stretched.

Axle seal leaking that long will wash the grease out of the wheel bearings, which should also be replaced. Have to be pressed off and back on again along with everything else stacked on the axles. Reversing retainer orientation can help give new seal a better seal on it when you do it.

valve covers get loose as well. like turn with your fingers loose. I had oil all over the exhaust I tightened them and it stopped leaking. still not leaking. I did a 2inch Lyft with bilsteins and started getting vibrations. I am replacing the drive shaft cause I don't want u joint to fall apart.

probably improper adjustment. Aint no way it’s not enough. I tell my back passengers to put seat belts cause i don’t want them to get ejected to the window
