    Business credit cards have some major advantages, and a lot more people may be eligible to get them than you might think! Let’s cover some Q&As…
    Q: Can you get a business credit card if you don’t have a Corporation, LLC, etc.?
    A: Yes! You can apply as an individual (“sole proprietor”).
    Q: Can you get a business credit card if you don’t have an EIN?
    A: Yes! You can use your SSN instead.
    Q: Can you get a business credit card without owning a business?
    A: Yes! If you earn money independently from your day job, you may qualify.
    Q: Can you get a business credit card if you haven’t made any money yet?
    A: It’s possible! Some banks may give an approval even if you’re pre-revenue.
    There are also some huge advantages to getting business credit cards. Some of them include:
    1. Obtain more welcome offers. Getting credit card signup bonuses are a fast way to get a lot of points, miles, or cash back quickly, and business credit cards often have their own offers (many of which are higher than personal credit cards).
    2. Build strong credit card strategies. Some business credit cards earn rewards in categories not covered by most personal credit cards (examples: utilities, advertising, office supply stores, and more). Even better, some of the Chase Ink business credit cards and Amex business credit cards earn the same type of rewards as some of the personal credit cards, so you can combine your points! Examples of these combinable points include Chase Ultimate Rewards, Amex Membership Rewards, and Capital One Venture miles.
    3. Separate business from personal expenses
    4. Obtain “invisible credit” (i.e., most business credit cards do not appear on your personal credit report). So, they won’t affect your credit score in terms of utilization or the age of the account. They also won’t affect the Chase 5/24 Rule.
    Just be aware that most small business credit cards still pull your personal credit.

      Tried your system. Even got an EIN. Got rejected after 20 seconds with the Chase Ink Business Cash.Could have gotten denied all by myself without your help, thank you very much. I really thought you were onto something here, But now I've got another hard pull on my credit Why are you recommending this to people when the creditor bases their decision on personal credit, and not this? Just cause you have perfect credit, please. DO NOT recommend this to those like me teetering on a 588 cr.score.

    • @MarkReese

      @@Nestop50-z2p - This video is not about guaranteeing an approval. Rather, it's about putting the odds more in your favor and how to apply without having an LLC, corporation, etc.. Sorry to hear about your denial. Score requirements are not published by the banks, but I'd personally want to have a 700+. That said, it may be possible to get approved with lower scores, but there isn't a way to guarantee any outcome. Credit decisions go well beyond the score alone.

Working from home has nothing at all to do with this.

Also what business cards would u suggest if cant show income in new business? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

    • @MarkReese

      1. Yes. Small business credit cards will pull your personal credit and therefore leave a hard inquiry.
      2. I don't have data to suggest which cards are easier than others based on no current revenue. In general, I've found Amex to be easiest to work with for new businesses.

    hi, I have an upcoming 3 to 4 month hotel stays later this year & I am choosing which hotel cards to pick, there are Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott and Crowne Plaza in the area.. also I can get the Chase WOH, Hilton Surpass & Aspire, Bonvoy Brilliant & Bonvoy Business & Chase IHG Premier.. out of the Hyatt Globalist, Hilton Diamond, Marriott Titanium or Diamond, IHG Platinum or Diamond... which is worth spending $30k or more? my family will join me as well so breakfast (and maybe club lounge access) for 4 is an important factor, thanks

    • @MarkReese
      @MarkReese  10 месяцев назад +4

      I can't tell you what you should value. All I can say is that many people in this game strongly prefer WoH Globalist, and for a good reason (the benefits are incredible). However, Hyatt's footprint is tiny. So, if they don't have properties in the areas you want to go, then it won't matter.

    If you apply for a business card but use it for personal use and pay it off from personal funds, is that legal or can that create an issue with the IRS?

    • @MarkReese
      @MarkReese  10 месяцев назад +3

      Per my understanding, there's no legal issue from a government perspective. It's only a violation of the cardmember agreement. And for those who have legal structures (LLC, etc.), adding personal expenses can "pierce the corporate veil" and be a problem if a lawsuit were to occur. All that said, I don't give legal advice, so best to consult with an expert in the matter.

  • @paulineallen3151

    How many of these cards require a personal guarantee? Not a good idea! Because, if you’re borrowing money for your business using a credit card that says you’re personally guaranteeing the debt, that means if your business can’t pay back the money it borrowed, you are responsible for paying it back with your own personal money. So, even if the business fails, you're still on the hook for the debt.

    • @MarkReese
      @MarkReese  4 месяца назад +3

      All of them do, which is the case for many small business credit cards.

    • @MarkReese
      @MarkReese  5 месяцев назад +3

      Not sure. If you have the Ritz-Carlton Credit Card, you can apply for the Bonvoy Boundless and get the bonus offer. What I don't know is if Chase keeps track of the original clock / timeframe from the first Bonvoy Boundless to the Ritz then back to Boundless. I would assume they do, so I'd personally do this:
      - Open Bonvoy Boundless
      - Wait 12+ months
      - Upgrade to Ritz
      - Wait 12+ months
      - Apply for Boundless

    What spend would qualify to receive the sign-up bonus on a business credit card? Would it need to be spending for the business or could it be my every day spend that would qualify me to get the sign up bonus on a business credit card?

    • @MarkReese

      Per the card agreement, the card is only to be used for business expenses. However, people have also put personal expenses on business cards without an issue as there isn't a way for a bank to know the purpose of a purchase. That said, putting personal expenses on a business card is not something I encourage people to do.

      @@anthonysmith3094 - See answers below.
      1. That wouldn't work with the current offers. Currently, both the Ink Cash & Ink Unlimited offer 0% APR on new purchases only, not balance transfers.
      2. Chase can pull different bureaus based on location, and even that can vary within the same state. Chase sometimes pulls 2 bureaus.
      3. I don't know what the minimum line Chase gives on its Ink cards.
      4. Yes, Chase only reports on the business side provided the account is not delinquent.

    • @MarkReese
      @MarkReese  10 месяцев назад +2

      Frankly, I'm not sure. I've seen data points from others that their cards kept working (likely because they're still linked to the individuals via SSN, which was entered on the application).
      I personally would close the card(s) for a dissolved LLC.
      However, I'd also call the bank & ask directly, since again, I'm not 100% sure. I've not gone through that experience.
      You could also ask the bank if they can switch the EIN # to a new business or to your SSN as a Sole Prop.
      I also don't have a way of rating Chase's strictness, so I can't comment on that either.
