Two questions - 1. Why not put leaves on the roof to dampen the sound of the rain hitting the roof 2. CAN I PLEASE STAY in the hut when I visit your province... I start my Issan adventures in Loey this week!
Hey my friend- the leaves are difficult to attach and definitely as things open up we would love to have you as a guest, our village still has a lot of restrictions as of yet. We should connect via fb 🙏
Rubbish, the leaves are not difficult to attach. The helpers with their comradery would have them on the roof in no time at all. How about a follow up on how the jacussi is going and how often you use it?
Living the dream in the most humble and inspirational way of life. A life I could so easily adapt too. I’ve said it many times before, I truly wish you and your family, a life full of good health and good fortune. And it’s great to hear your words of feeling excepted within the community where you live. 🙏
New hut looks awesome Ryan & Damo. Both should be very proud of how developed the land and surrounds. Great enviroment for Otis to grow up in and for his future too..
Wow , so nice to hear another person to say and think as I have always done regarding running to our grave for the bigger house or faster car, one more charming video you’ve given to the planet ,thanks.
Hi Ryan- I so enjoyed watching this video with my hubby and it’s so great to see the progress on the land! Thanks for sharing the details on the Bamboo Hut and yet another wonderful vlog! Sending you peace and love ❤️ Take care:)
A delightful alternative to the solid construction. I once spent almost 5 years living in a bamboo hut in Phuket, whilst serving 5* hotel guests in our restaurant. I used to tell them I lived in the rabbit hutch on the hill. I would suggest, next time, you dig holes and insert short lengths of cement pipe bedded in the ground in concrete as a proper foundation, to house the bamboo frame posts. Level the unit with steel rods through the bamboo support posts, then fill the pipes with concrete, a secure and neater solution. You could also introduce a water trough in the concrete base around the posts to prevent ants climbing the frame. Personally, I would also omit the wriggly tin roof, and use the baijack thatch, looks and sounds better, and is far more insulative against the sun.
That was such an important point you made about beautifying your life. It resonates with the whole "clean your room" concept. Give yourself a haven from the cruelties of the world into which you can re-energise, whether it be literature, music, art, or finger painting. It doesn't matter what it is as long as it is what one considers beautiful. From there it is possible to build. For me, it is Edward Hopper, Edouard Cortes, Isaac Asimov, Tool, and chocolate to name but a very few. Understand what lifts you, live in those moments, and grow. It's from there that you can bring joy to others. Let's not forget we are the dream of our own being. So why make that dream a nightmare?
That is a very nice bamboo hut I would love to have one in my backyard. Also, it's nice that you have the locals who come to help with your projects, and never expect anything in return. Like they say, i't takes a village and you feel welcome, and a part of that community. God Bless your Family.
Wonderful new addition, so nice! I lived in a bamboo but for a few months on a tiny island off Bali in the 80's. There was something so comforting about it and I don't think I've ever slept so well in my life. Cheers!
I live in Thailand too and just found your channel. I love it. After all this covid drama I'm totally burnt out on modern life. I like how you're living. I'm gonna transition to a life outside town too. Thanks for the inspiration.
Another brilliant vlog. The hut looks fantastic, 45000 thb an absolute bargain. And great to hear about the plans for the extension. Keep them coming Ryan. Would love to see round the land and all the plants you've now got.
So interesting to see the hut delivered and put together. I'm very interested in the tiny house style living. And there's some very interesting examples in Thailand too
Great to see the new hut, they bring back happy memories of staying in one in a small place on Panay Island, Philippines. There was a large communal bamboo hut for eating/chilling and the smaller one's for 1/2 people. Days were spent out walking and kayaking. Actually when I say kayaking river swimming is probably more accurate as I spent most time swimming after my kayak after hitting the rapids :o) Then back to the the accommodation where they have a number of huge metal dishes, a few big enough for one person to get in and one huge one for mmm 4/6. They fill them with water and light a fire underneath. After dinner it's into the cozzies, beer in hand, looking up at a multitude of stars and into the undergrowth at the fire flies amazing! Thanks for jogging my memory!
Loving your work and what you are building a true inspiration to me and I am sure many more. Keep up the great vlogs and the great work. Best wishes to you all.
Love your Blogs guys. It takes a lot to follow your heart and dreams. Well done both of you. Was good too see MR.Paddy Doyle vist you. Another guy I admire for his travel vlogs. All the best for the future. Hopefully I may have a chance to meet you face to face one day
That is really great work they do. Amazing craft building the huts. I am impressed totally, your dream is reality...good vlog always, till next week cheerio!
Beautiful dwelling 👌 Also home is where you make it, and to be accepted by the locals is wonderful, like myself, a Thai in the UK (47 years). Thank you so much for making me feel at home in my birth place 🙏 Take care.

Great video again! Love the teamwork….Hey it’s off topic but have you heard of the Miyawaki method of growing a small food forest? I think I’m going to make one when my family move home to Udonthani 🇹🇭✌️🙏
Hi.Ryan hope you well.just love your hut.have you maybe considered making it a holiday home and renting it out to visitors? I'm a senior and really love your place ...proud of your achievements and your hardworking wife...stay happy son...🙏🙏🙏
I'm almost there. People have to realize or at least I hope they do.. I am on an insurance pension for eyesight loss, drivers lic and job. I currently am looking into your lifestyle but not there yet. It's a learning curve. I'm on a journey and you're helping. Thanks.
That's a nice bamboo hut. I'm going to get one for my Homestead as well. At least you are mortgage free and that's what I'm planning to do. The reason why I'm building a brick house on the homestead is because of the storms I don't know how the bamboo house will stand up to that. My homestead that I'm making is in Buriram. Good Luck mate.
What do you do for indo pluming ? Where is the shower and bog ? How about power ? I coud live in one off thos, if it had power and indo pluming. Lokes grate , mate .
What a great way to have an instant house to live in. Of course you have to let it get rid of the fumes but well worth the inconvenience. I am building a house next year and this would be a great way of staying on the property while it is being built. I will definitely look into it.
Hi guys, from London Henry and Elsa. keep up the good work. we are so happy to see your progress its quite helpful, i just built a wooden shed 3m by 6m, and that's for our leisure yoga and massage slash summer house for our 2 girls. But i would say this hut is ammmaaasssinng!!!! I wish we could get this in the Uk, that would have saved me £2000. Thanks for sharing again. And for keeping us entertained I would like to see Paddy at your place for sure.
I would recommend adding solar panels and one of the new small wind turbines so you can further lower your cost of living and minimizing your carbon footprint. Have you considered adding roof gutters to gather rain water in the big clay jars that stand next to most Thai houses? I think my wife’s families property is near you if you are in Buri Ram.
Have you thought of using mosquito netting to screen in an outdoor living area? In the Stated, you can find different grades in the market. Some of them even screen out 40 or 60% of light. Just a thought 😅. Love Asia but mosquitos are no no.
Great video and I love your bamboo house. I am planning to return to Thailand, simplify my life, perhaps lease a plot of land live in a small stilted wooden Thai home. I can afford a lot more, but I just don't want to. I was happiest when I lived the simple life.
bamboo is such a good material to build with i used to stop and stare at the scaffolding used in thailand when i first came ten floors high,i wonder if they still use it
That looks great mate. My misses just inherited the family home. Its unfinished as her dad died before he could finish. I am hoping to finish it off for them. Peace be upon you 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼. She lives in ban sawai Surin.
at 11:00 minutes you started on a subtle rant about sovereign individualism that i can completelly relate to. Interesting to me also that you talked about a 'collective shift' away from corportate and industrial slavery in the same breath. Quietly inspirational, my friend. I am aiming for Thailand, I'll pop in and say hello if I make it

Looking great,
Your building a homely and serene little place.
Well done.

Hello Ryan , you’re a good husband and a father. ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you 🙏🙏
Congrats again for the 2nd beautiful hut, looking forward to the process of arranging n settling down
Hello Ryan, i have a question, in your new tiny house (not the bamboo house) how do you do for the evacuation of waste water, dishes, washing machine?
You have the rest of the world envy on you bro. Keep on living this descent humble world. Hebat!
ชอบมากๆเลยค่ะนี่แหละชีวิตที่ฝันไว้😍
Tiny house living is the way to go. You have to anchor the house though. The blocks are no help on strong winds
Yes, that's correct, you need to dig around the bricks and fill them with cement for extra rigidity and support.
Thai high wind and rain storms can get mean and nasty during the monsoon seasons !
With every blog, I miss Buriram more!
Can't get back for a few months yet. Have a wonderful Christmas guys
Hope you can get back soon brother 🙏
Hi.Ryan hope you well.just love your hut.have you maybe considered making it a holiday home and renting it out to visitors? I'm a senior and really love your place ...proud of your achievements and your hardworking wife...stay happy son...🙏🙏🙏
What is the link for this house?.. I dont see it in the description. Thank you :)

can you put this lacquer on yhinner with maybe a power sprayer? There are additives thatvcan help it dry faster.
Another fantastic video. Thank you for showing us this process 🙏
The hut doesn't seem to be anchored to the ground. Is it typhoon/heavy rainstorm safe? Looks like it can be easily blown away in the wind.
It’s as heavy as two cars - mine is half the size had been through nunneries storms over this past year - no problem 🙏✌️
What a lovely space you are creating for you and the fam. Quite jel tbh.
Hey mate do you have a link where we can buy one of these from. Thanks
That is just brilliant....well done....Jeff

Absolute inspiration mate...good luck keep up the good work...I'm off 28th November.....going to live my life my friend...👍
I looked for the link to the manufacturer of bamboo hut... but not listed. Could you give me the link?
What do you do for indo pluming ? Where is the shower and bog ? How about power ? I coud live in one off thos, if it had power and indo pluming. Lokes grate , mate .
It’s all hooked up to our solar - the toilet and kitchen is another building that we built in this vlog 🙏✊

We built a 4m x 4m bamboo house in the Philippines and it is very comfortable.
Can you let me know where you got your bamboo house from please. Can't find the information. Thanks
Hi guys I really like your vlogs, makes me want to leave the rat race for the quiet life, best wishes to you. cheers Chris from Australia

Agreed!🙏😊🇹🇭
bamboo is such a good material to build with i used to stop and stare at the scaffolding used in thailand when i first came ten floors high,i wonder if they still use it
Yes it is still used even in Bangkok.

We think about 10 years if the wood is cared for but will be updating for sure 🙌🙏🙏
