Learning Japanese: Does Changing Your Phone Language Help??

  • A month ago I changed my phone language to Japanese...here's how I got on and my thoughts on whether you should do the same!
    I'm a Japanese language self-learner and trying different new methods of immersion to see if they work in improving my fluency!

    My grandparents are Japanese but I don't know much about Japan. I’m discovering Japanese culture, language food. I am discovering the Japan in Me! Join me on this journey, I am so excited 😊

    Switch it to English-Japanese to begin with, then to full Japanese once more confident with hiragana.

      How do you do this? I didn't see an English-Japanese option

      @@mattyoutubes there should be 2 options - I chose both: Japanese: kana and or romaji (English- Japanese, where you type in the sounds of the hiragana - like instead of slowly learning ‘cat’ as ねこ you type in ‘neko’.

    My short answer is probably not. To me it's not worth getting frustrated over just to maybe learn a few new words. Regular immersion is perfectly fine.
