The live version of “Super Disco Breakin” in Glasgow (really, the entire black and white filmed set) is one of the best live performances that has ever occurred on planet earth.
Yes! I rewatch that whole performance once a yr! That circle stage was genius
The Glasgow 99 performance is so perfect, if only MTV released the show again in higher quality
No lie!!!!
Among the best live recordings I have ever watched. The start is just amazing.
@@cdu1010 The live renditions of Shake Your Rump, Root Down, So Whatcha Want are probably the best performances ever from them
This whole show is awesome. Mixmaster Mike was just throwing them random beats and they make it work. MMM also has a 6 minute opening that is great.
This is Melkweg Amsterdam.
I'm in the audience here. Front row at the left. Best Beastie gig I've ever witnessed.
You have to watch "I F@#ing Shot That", Beastie Boys at Madison Square Gardens. They gave cameras to audience members to shoot the concert from their perspective. Its AMAZING.
They’re SICK live bro. Got lucky to see them many times and they’re the best. The energy was always just different than anyone else IMO.
I saw them in 1998 on the Hello Nasty Tour. Best show I’ve ever seen.
That’s the last time I saw them. They were at Rosemont, whatever it was called then.
Ya God Damn Right....Hello Nasty Tour Manchester England 1998 my favourite ever Gig...still get goosebumps Beastie chills & couldn't believe I was actually watching these guys...11/11
Back in the 90s, Skill to Pay the Bills was their VHS tape of a bunch of their videos and other wacky stuff. I still got it sitting around here somewhere...
Seen them 8 times live and those are probably the top 8 concerts I've ever been to!
I heard Skills for the first time with this performance too! Before I went to the album
They got a dvd called Awesome: I Fucking Shot That. It's a concert. They handed out cameras all over the arena and mixed the dvd together from those a security cam footage. It's sick as fuck
Yes! Please watch that movie and do a reaction. I'll watch a live stream of it.
You can find me in the front row. ;)
Classic
Definitely 🔥🔥🔥🔥love hearing all these different songs by them ❤❤
I saw them live in 2005. It was incredible. They rapped, played their instrumentals, rocked out, did it all flawlessly. It was amazing.
I got to see them live in 2004. One of the best shows of my life. I consider myself very lucky to have been able to see them when I did.
I miss those days. The Beasties, Run DMC, and Public Enemy were hot.
When I saw them at Lollapalooza 94, I thought I was going to get crushed. Too crazy.
I should have went. I was still
Bummed about Kurt. So didn’t go.
Can’t believe you did this specific live! If I hadn’t subscribed already, you woulda earned it with this one. So Whatcha Want live on Arsenio Hall with Cypress Hill is legendary as well. Done 12 yrs before this performance too
The original music vid to this is my fav they ever made!
Wish I was there. The joy in their work is apparent. True hip hop.
I Gotta gotta gotta skills to pay my b b b b bills bills bills bills
ADROCK was spitting
Their live shows are the stuff of legend no doubt!!!! I saw them tour for ill communication. That tour was amazing
This whole Amsterdam concert from 2001 is Fire ASF!
It is amazing how the DJ catches them. They just keep going and he lays it down.
Mix Master Mike is one of the best ever 👍 if not THE best ! So underrated
I've seen them live a hand full of times, freakin awesome!!
Great reaction! I heard them mention young aborigines in the song ( their punk band name before they became beastie boys ) enjoying hearing their music 🥰
Thanks for another banger.
Bboys man, they rock 😃
I like this new direction. Beastie Boys live performances!
Saw them twice back to back. First day was at the boston opera house and they asked you to dress a little nicer if you could(i bought a suit for the occasion). They played alot more of their instrumental stuff and their mellower tracks but threw in a couple hype ones for good measurem the second night was at a big outdoor venue and they kinda just went off. So glad i got a chance to see them.
The whole show is great especially calling out fans travelling all the way from Russia...the fans goes mental ha haaa class moment & boys appreciative but get the off the Stage(take it easy there Comrade) lol....that Bass Mix Master Mike....class
They put on a sick show. Saw them and Rage against the machine at Continental Airlines arena in ‘99. Ridiculous show.
Wish I could’ve seen them live with Tribe and De La!!!!!!
You should check their live performance when they were inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame. Puffy, Q-Tip and someone else start it off covering/performing a Beastie Boys track then the Beastie Boys perform another song. A lot of newer/older Hip-Hop legends in the crowd vibing to the Boys which is not surprising but just cool to see.
Merci beaucoup, mon frere
One of my all time faves...
"The Scoop" next?
"Hello Brooklyn" needs to be next
There it is! I saw that Deltron thumbnail!
the live shows were insane. they brought the hardcore punk energy, that's why at festivals nobody wanted to go after them.
Yes! This is why I fuck with your channel. Great gig. Great track.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
The Glasgow concert is crazy tight!!!
Hah, I just watched this live set for the first time ever yesterday and this song really stuck out. Been listening to their albums non stop since I really got into the Beastie Boys 1-2 years ago and now moved on to live concerts with them 😂 Its pretty crazy after they hooked up with Mixmaster Mike I dont think they ever performed a song live without switching the beats up, either for just a verse or from start to finish, all the songs got something different everytime they perform it live
This was on the '94 FIBA World Championship soundtrack CD... I remember it was a big deal cause the Dream Team came to Toronto (pre-Raptors; helped birth them)... First place I'd heard this...
And the title of a VHS video compilation they had... Not sure what came first...
Dude their live shows were fire. When they recruited Mixmaster Mike as their show DJ he fully represented for the original format of hip hop by switching the breaks up throughout the whole song.
I used to DJ for a hip hop artist and a sure fire way to get a crowd that hadn't heard of us moving was to flip from our song's original instrumental to a classic banger instrumental that everyone knows and can't stand still for.
DJ job number one, keep the crowd moving, so those switches play to human psyche.
Best live show is the I F**kin Shot That movie. They handed out a bunch of cameras to various audience members to film it then edited them all together. It’s ridiculously amazing!
That concert blew me away. Got me “into” them. I listened to rap a good bit in the 80s (PE, BDK, Eric B, BB, DMC, NWA) but I am a rock roller. So didn’t listen to much rap in the 90s. A little bit of TC Quest. Then rap went to shot. That concert brought me back to BBOYS.
I was there passed out and saw the rest of the concert lying on a bench backstage
Am I the only one hearin the ascending synth notes at about the 3min mark that sound straight outa Rob Zombie's "Living Dead Girl?" It's "hidden" just enough that it'll take a few listens before the light bulb pops on in your head (lol, it's only taken about two decades plus before it btch-slapped me just now).
Beastie Boys - Glasgow 1999 (FULL)
you gotta check it out - Hello Nasty tour w/ Mix Master Mike on the decks.
They were great live! Gotta check out the live show. Check out the Glasgow concert and I Fucking Shot That. Love your reactions!
You’re appreciated fam
wish you do Ill Communication full reaction before I die
Please do yourself a favor and hear the studio recording of this, the beats are dope and their voices sound so cool, way different from live. Love their live shows though, I braved massive crowds of meathead frat dudes to push my way to the front row every time. Thanks for doing this song.
Bro you need to see the ch check it out live in Letterman. It's next level bro
Check it out live on mtv (also go into sabatoge) or open letter to nyc live on mtv both are lit
react to them playing paul revere live in san jose in i think 92, better then the studio version imo
Check Glasgow live it's great
Anything from "Live in Glasgow"
Live hip hop shows like how The Beastie boys done it will never be seen again...this is actual talent !!
Not selling their own brand of sneakers at the bargain price of only 2 million dollars !! mumbling some shit about their ganster gang who wear nothing but gucci but still want everyone to believe they are the same as them ✊ !! how life is unbearable because they cant find the right type of moisturiser for their skin type!! How there's beef between them and another mumbler because he accused him of tweeting that he had more followers than him and it really hurt his feelings so much he had to set up a go fund me to try raise 3 million for therapy for his 2 hamsters because his emotional state after this tragedy affected them so much !!
Fun fact. The studio version of this wasn't "good enough" to make the cut on Check Your Head. I dunno...
Root down live version from the Conan O’Brien show.
the track is better than the live version. lol!
Pop your balloon from hot sauce committee 2
I think this was a B side
Yes it was a B side !!
