Oh my goodness, 2 beautiful people from the same family. If there is anything at all to be thankful for is that mum gave her son life and together they face life elsewhere still together. Thinking of those left behind to deal with the grief. I think more tact and respect to the deceased with funeral attendance would have sounded nicer.

This is so sad to see a Mother and son being laid to rest because of a drunk driver. Was it the husband /Father sitting at the head of the casket, also in the accident. He seemed to be in physical pain as well as the deep emotional pain ? God bless this family with comfort! Rest easy now beloved's!
When my sister was killed by a drunk driver we were told it the lowest kind of homicide. The judge sentenced him to 4-11 years, (he served 5)The judge said he hoped this was a message that this will not be tolerated--Yeah Right! 3 weeks before she was killed she was told she was finally Cancer Free. My thoughts and prayers are with all these families and friends, I hope these families get justice even though it will never bring their loved ones back. Don’t use the word Closure because it doesn’t happen, it’s always with you.
@Rachael Nelson Her sons were not allowed any input concerning the plea deal that was made, they were called and told this was what the DA office and his lawyer decided on in other words “to bad, so sad, deal with it”. Her oldest son from what was said really told them off and I don’t blame him one bit.
My condolences and prayers for your family on the lose of your sister..I will never understand how a sitting judge what he (or) she said. That short sentence wasn’t a message of any kind. I think the law needs to be more enforced so they will serve the whole sentence. What they got was nothing but a slap on the wrist.
