    Great explanation. Very detailed, to the point, and clear in terms of explanation and language used. Also, very helpful due to the fact that all the characteristics were "created" by the professor and the students at the time of the session, rather than it being a given, like in other videos on QFD.

    Thank you teacher man! Gosh, he looks JUST like my high school buddy, Blair, who actually turned out to be a college professor after he got his degree. WILD! I'm currently working on my Master's Degree in Aeronautics and this topic is in one of my courses. Needless to say, I needed a huge refresher and this did not disappoint. Plus, it was nice imagining that it was my buddy Blair teaching up there in front the class!

    This is a great explanation of 1980s QFD for build-to-print component suppliers. To update for modern businesses that offer end products, systems, services, and software: 1. Customer requirements are about the customer, not the product. 2. Importance and relationships should be measured in ratio, not ordinal scale due to later math, 3. Roof comes later.
    The QFD Institute recommends the faster Blitz QFD® which often replaces HoQ. Free case studies at mazur.net/publishe.htm

    Not expecting any feedback on my question since the upload was 8 years ago ... however my question is why does the weight and the acceleration 0-60 has a strong negative relation (roof of the QFD) as the target was to reduce the weight and to increase the acceleration -> thus it should have a positive relation. The lower the weight the better the acceleration and this is exactly what you have defined.

    • @ronweasley2794
      @ronweasley2794 4 года назад

      I guess it is negative because the relation between those two are opposite, or inverse. Like you have stated, as the weight goes UP the 0-60 performance goes DOWN and if the weight goes DOWN the 0-60 performance goes UP. If the relation between factors is inverse or opposite, then it is negative.

    Does the correlation matrix not contribute to any of the calculations in the QFD? I assumed it would help in a tradeoff of importance where the is a strong negative correlation and allow to place importance on features with strong positive correlation

  • @ahmadlibda5651

    How come 'cost of production' considered as an engineering parameter?! it is something the customer doesn't care about. It is something that affects the manufacturer (it is a result of his design), and it is up to him on how to control it.

    have a query: while taking decision of new SUV "us", why he just picked random numbers? that's how it happens? because i don't think it would happen like this, if we can just pick random numbers to make new SUV then why we have done all the calculations? can any one explain this point please.
