Thanx for sharing! I love your designs. Actually you are teaching how to wire weave/wrap. I can't thank you enough. I've done all kinds of art my whole life but this has to be my favorite.
I’ve been wanting to try this key pendant for some time and finally did it. Used a 5 mm Murano gold glass foil bead and gold colored wire. I am so proud of it and so very thankful for your fabulous tutorials. I’ve made so many of your pendants and always get so exited when you post a new one.
I love this style ❤ Thank you so much for so generously posting it! Can't wait to give it a try once I get my tools... they're on my Christmas list ;) xo Rachel
sorry hit send too quick! I meant to add that the question was in general to any designs.. I've been watching your videos and LOVE all of them! I'm a newbie to wrapping and wondered both about tarnishing but also about stability of the design over time...wonder if a coat of diamond glaze etc would help with both potential issues??
Thank you! I am not sure, I have never coated with anything. Pendant don't rub against the skin enough to turn it green for me, but I heard rings can do that. I am sensitive to chemicals, which is why I have not tried coating the copper with anything
jackie m ~ I use Renaissance Wax on wire that I don't want to tarnish. You mentioned that you're new to wire wrapping. I looked up Diamond Glaze and I personally wouldn't use on my creations, but that's just my opinion. In order for a wire wrapped object to keep its shape, it needs to be work hardened, which will happen when you wrap. If you want to strengthen it additionally, might I suggest using a rawhide mallet and "very gently" hammering the finished piece, to harden the wires additionally, when you are finished with the piece, that is when you apply wax to keep it from tarnishing. I hope I could be of some assistance😉
is there issues with it turning skin green after it's oxidized? if yes have u ever tried putting a coating of duamond glaze or the like as a barrier to prevent it?
My 4-5mm beads look sooooooooo much smaller than yours. Any idea why? Could you measurement of bead be off by chance? I'm sitting here literally about to try this... But worried on how the bead size could affect the piece?
I could see properly and your too quick for me. so I watch a few times.but didn't get passed attaching the bead without making a big hash of it. I can't work out how your doing it. I couldn't slow the video down either. Maybe I'll see if I can use my daughters laptop to get a bigger screen
At the top of the screen are three vertical dots. Just click on those and scroll down to about halfway and see playback speed. Go to .25 speed. That slows it way down.
ah yes! I've been looking everywhere for a good Key tutorial and you posted it! I'm so happy! Thank you!!!
