    Great video! I have a Tefal Cook4me and I love it! We also have a 6 and 8 quart Duo Instant Pots. I use the Cook4Me and my husband the instant Pots. When l became sick Perry had to learn how to cook. I wanted fresh vegetables in our diet so after some studying I bought the 6 quart Duo on Amazon. Three years later I bought an 8 quart following a sale on Amazon again. I have even loaned my 6 quart before the pandemic and just got it back. I have had medical problems during the last 20 years but somehow I have been able to bounce back. Thanks to my husband who has been such a support to me. On October 16 this year we will be celebrating 55 years of marriage. By profession Perry is an accountant but he is aspiring to be my “Jacques Pépin” in the kitchen! I am a happy person.

      Such lovely feedback Joelle, Perry shouldn’t have much trouble converting measurements in recipes with his mathematical brain. I don’t have an Instant Pot , I don’t know if they are available here but I do have a Ninja Foodi and Ninja Foodi Grill as well as a Cook4Me. I understand one of the inter appts has something called a Duo Crisp, I wonder if that is similar to the Foodi with it’s Pressure a Cooking and Air Crisping functions. 55 years is a wonderful milestone. I know from our conversations over the years you have a happy marriage and compliment each other very well. Perry has been there with your sight problems and ankle injury and you had only just recovered when he had his heart surgery. Luckily these things didn’t happen to to you both simultaneously . You are both very fortunate to have each other to care for and be responsible for. I was really pleased to hear that Perry was interested in cooking and taken to his new hobby so enthusiastically, you must be very proud of his efforts. Continue to take good care of each other and stay safe and well., let’s hope your health woes are in the past and and you continue to enjoy a healthy and happy life together. ;-))

      That’s wonderful, I’m really pleased to help. The Cook4Me is such a fabulous appliance, perfect for helping people to use a pressure cooker, once they get past all the horror stories about Aunty Mary’s, , next door neighbours, cousins ex-wife that blew up her kitchen making jam lol. Try the cheesecake Apple Berries, the family will love it.Trust me it’s really worth it.;-))

    Great small appliance! The closest we have to it here is maybe the smart/wifi cooker by Chef Iq or Instant Pot but I haven't had a lot of time to read about this type of cooker yet. I did see Instant Pot came out with something called the Duo Crisp + Air Fryer which might take care of all my oven needs. I think it makes cakes and yogurt and other things too, might be their 11-appliances-in-1 type deal which is what I'm looking for. I see a lot in their original boxes at second hand stores and online auctions so I'll keep so if I see something with good reviews and price I'll think more on it. Here it seems like people get the latest greatest trendy items over the holidays and then sell or donate them soon afterwards. That's bad for the overwhelming amount of consumerism and waste but great for bargain hunters like me. Your Thermomix is still the appliance of my dreams at this point; I really do need that kitchen scale you know. :)

    • @CheekysKitchen
      @CheekysKitchen  3 года назад

      Scales are a universal measuring device. Professional chefs weigh everything from apples to zucchini’s and sugar to spice. You will get consistent results every time if you stick to a recipe until you gain more experience and confidence.
      I think a lot of well meaning family and friends buy gifts for their non cooking recipients and they are sold for a fraction of their price still brand new on Craigslist, ebay, Amazon, gumtree and marketplace. With recent events families have had to turn items into cash just to survive, as well. Blended families often have double ups and sometimes unwanted prizes can be bought for a song. If you are not in a rush you will find everything you are looking for for the right price, without compromise or breaking the budget. Anyway everyone loves a bargain and half of the fun is the hunt!

    Thank you so much for replying to me, it was a lovely surprise! Made my day. Just one quick question you might be able to help me with, should I buy the cook4me connect, or the previous model which is $100 cheaper? I do like the idea of being able to get more recipes etc.😊

    • @CheekysKitchen
      @CheekysKitchen  4 года назад

      Gee Gabs James, my. Ideal is several years old and still going strong, whilst I do use the preprogrammed recipes, especially for my demonstrations I use it more for adapting my old favourite style. I have absolutely no experience with the new + connect model, I never comment on something I know nothing about. Maybe google a comparison of the two models and see if the ‘advantages’ are worth the extra $100, I think you will find as you use this appliance (whichever one you choose) you will find that there are lots of recipes available, I would be more than happy to assist in any way I can, we are adding to our Cook4Me playlist regularly and of course we do requests too.
      It’s an investment that should last you many years so it will depend on your cooking style, experience, budget and personal Preference. Good luck with your choice, go with the latest and greatest or the tried and true, that’s a ‘toughie’ alright!
      Whichever way you’jump’ I’d love to hear your opinion and I’m sure our viewers would too.
      Thanks for the great feedback and for watching.;-))

    Just joined C4M group in FB since I recently bought the Tefal C4Me unit and really don’t know how to use it. One member recommended to check your channel and I just subscribed. Love your recipes. Just one request, if you can please actually show the Tefal display screen when you do it. It will be a big help for newbies like me and ensure we are doing the right steps😊. Thanks and power on!

      Thank you very much for your lovely feedback Riz, I really appreciate your suggestion and kind comments. I have made a couple of C4Me videos showing the screen but for some reason my camera does a light flickering image that is almost strobe like. I’m not sure why it does it but it happens on most of my LCD screened appliances. If you can put up with the ‘disco’ effect I will try and make some more recipes that will help get you started and become more confident with your shiny new toy. I’m quite excited for you embarking on your cook for me journey. You have a whole world of wonderful new recipes waiting to be discovered, I know you are going to love it. Welcome aboard our little food channel we hope you enjoy our journey. • @CheekysKitchen

      I have several types of thermal serving pots, some are quite cheap stainless steel rice pots from bay Thermomix make some called Thermoservers in different sizes and shapes. Avanti also make an oval shaped one that isn't as insulated as the Thermoserver but are a fraction of the price. Hope that helps and thanks for watching.;-))

    Hi, I am going to cook 1.2 kg brisket tomorrow (2/1/20) as you have done. Should I cook for 20 minutes?

    • @CheekysKitchen
      @CheekysKitchen  4 года назад

      Thank you for your enquiry Valdis, this weight is 50% heavier than the portion I cooked in this video, I would cook 1.2kg at least for 20 minutes but 25 minutes would give you a more tender result. Don’t forget to rest it in a warm place after cooking to ensure the juice and meat fibres relax and retain their juicy tenderness. I’m sure your family will be delighted with this meal, thank you very much for watching and Happy New Year to you.;-))

    How can you make the potatoes crunchy. The airfryer lid?

    • @CheekysKitchen
      @CheekysKitchen  Год назад

      I have only just bought the air Chrisp lid but that would be perfect for making crispy baked vegetables. I always like to cook the vegetables on the pressure cooker in stock or some flavoured salt and that infuses in forces the flavour into the vegetables and then I will be finishing with the air. Crisp lid give it some nice crunchy texture and colour.
      We are big fans of stuffed potatoes here, and that’s a way of making the flavour. Go all the way through the potato before you cross them up split them open and fill them with fillings of your choice. Favourite of mine is chilli con carne with cheese, sour cream, and plenty of chilli and jalapenos, and Richo likes his pretty plain bacon and eggs sometimes with coleslaw and cheese.
      Hope that helps, and thank you very much for watching . ;-))

    Is thete another name for brisket? I am in Australia and no one seems to know what i am talking about.

    • @CheekysKitchen
      @CheekysKitchen  6 лет назад

      HI Terry, Thanks for your enquiry. I don't know of any other name for a Brisket. Its actually the quite tough muscle found under the chest, between the front legs. It is a very popular cut of meat in America and you have probably heard it on US sitcom shows like The Bang Theory, its a very common Jewish recipe. Your local butcher should be able to supply it to you. You could substitute a slab of chuck steak or blade steak. Brisket lends itself very well to pulled beef for sliders etc. It has a coarse strand texture and this method of cooking forces the flavour of the spice rub into the meat, eliminating the need to marinate and tenderises it whilst limiting shrinkage. Hope this helps and thanks for watching, ;-))

    • @ismzaxxon
      @ismzaxxon 6 лет назад +1

      Thank you. In the mean time, i have found out you can't buy brisket in Australia (a Butcher friend just told me} They pickle it and call it corned beef. You are correct, chuck steak was recommended as a replacement. There are not that many Jewish people in Australia, which explains why we can't get it. Looks tasty. I do remember one of the actors mothers making brisket in the show a few times. Subscribed. :}

      I buy brisket in OZ all the time. The Cooks Cuts Beef Brisket 1Kg - $12 at Woolworths. I can buy it at lots of other places as well. I wish I could post pics here, 'cos then I could show you the products themselves. Coles have Beef Brisket Pot Roasts for online home delivery or click & collect. Woolworths also have Woolworths Simply Heat Smoked Beef Brisket Minimum size 750G - $15.75. None of these are corned beef though....they are roast beef. www.cookingforbusymums.com/beef-brisket-pot-roast/
