Why are Europeans not fond of air-conditioners？

Europeans have been hit by several intense heat waves this summer, but very few of them actually have air-conditioners. Although air conditioners have been around for over a century, less than 5% of homes in Europe have air conditioning, according to a media survey. So why are air-conditioners not welcomed in Europe?

Nope. You could buy portable AC, easy to install and use, and no labor needed. So the argument of the labor cost is invalid.

Save up for AC-at the very least a window unit. The politics may try & convince you they can make the heat go away by getting rid of your vehicles & staying quarantined. The climate is driven by nature & the jet stream. Europeans already do some greed gardening. They best preserve electric flow for AC & conserve in other fashions.
