At least crawler’s is solid rock. Some of the dirt sections after it were scarier for me. Always surprised at how much exposure there is on this trail. Still worth it.
What?! You’re in Hawaii!! Awesome! That section wasn’t bad, the rest of the day wore us out!! And so much helicopter noise! It sure was all worth it though, maybe the most beautiful place we’ve ever camped!! Have fun! 🎉
Great job and filming, guys! Thanks for sharing your hiking experiences and this trail! I hiked that to Kalalau beach back in ‘89. Awesome place. Great weather and environment. Loved Kauai.
So glad you got 2 nights! We had 3 (plus 1 in Hanakoa - which is a bug infested swamp). Saw so many people hike in, watch the sun set, get up and hike out. Definitely want at least a day to enjoy the beach.
Believe it or not, this is not the worst part of the trail. At least here there's solid rock to hang onto. The camera definitely makes it seem (slightly) worse than it is. Still, Kalalau demands that you maintain focus, for sure.
The heck, i've been on this trail too! The only two amazing trails i've ever been on are on your channel! Oh i did hike to the falls deep into the woods on this island. Heck you probably have that vid too 😄
Ha! We went to the second waterfall because we had permits for Kalalau beach. Didn't make it to the first one because we didn't want to add 4 miles to an already brutal hike.
You guys…are CRAZY! I suspect the camera exaggerates the steepness and the narrowness this…thing, but my heart was pounding, even though I knew you made it through. Not looking forward to your return hike 😮😅
The camera definitely makes it look more straight down than it was. But still narrow and if you took a mis-step it would be the end of you. Still, at least on Crawler's Ledge there is solid rock and good hand holds. Other parts of the trail are similar experience with just dirt and loose gravel.
I found it far less freaky than it looked on the videos I watched beforehand. Simply spectacular trail! Where else can you see whales, goats, and feral pigs on the same hike? And eat lemons, guava, and wild mangoes along the way?
This is the trail that got us into hiking! Crawler's Ledge was definitely not as bad in person. I did go back and practically ran along it and then back again. (And on the way out for a fourth time.) Other sections on the trail are much worse, imo. Still worth it.
@@JerryArizona Agreed! There were some really sketch parts beyond crawler's ledge that were much less horizontal and a lot less stable. Worth it to sleep by that beach in paradise.
Yeah it be even more terrifying than it looks on camera! Always is!

STUNNING WATER and views... But yeah, I'm not sure I'd be doing that without leaving a mess behind on the trail. 😅
Wow ! That’s Crazy ! Can’t wait to see the whole hike .
Yup, North Phoenix . I love that area. I know it well
I think it's called East Wing Mountain?

Such an amazing place. The helicopters were obnoxious, but after dusk we had the beach in peace. Definitely a tough trail. It was all worth it.

Um no 😳. You guys are braver (or crazier) than me! 😅
Yes! that looks like a good time right there!
Holy Moly! I have permits for two nights in November on the Kalalau trail. Looking forward to seeing your entire adventure.

Looks terryfing, but awesome!
Scary to me. Beautiful views. Awesome. Thanks for sharing 😊. Stay safe.

Please be safe my friend. We all want the perfect shot, but we …. We shouldn’t loose our grasp. Smile 😊 have a great day
Wow need some safety chains

Wow a real bucket list trip. Adrenaline overload.😊
That’s crazy dangerous! I wouldn’t do that.
And this wasn't even the worst part!
Yikes, no thanks on that one.

And with that heavy pack! Kudos!

Gorgeous!
I wouldnt make pass this point forsure
It only gets worse for the next couple of miles. Still worth it.
My adrenaline is something I never feel and haven't in years. I wonder if the trail will change that?😮
Yes not for me but Bravo what A view
You are way braver than me!
Holy shit. How don you carry those balls?
Glad to see your here in Hawaii!🌺
This hike started our love of hiking. So glad to be back.
Looks like it’s appropriately named 😳
And that was dry!
I've heard horror stories of it in the rain. Can't imagine what the approach must be like in those conditions.
I would NOT have a problem. The people BEHIND me though....might have some problems with the fresh "mud" I leave.
Great views
No way!
NO!
Neat! What part of Arizona is this in?
Kauai, um, Arizona.
Hawaii... 🤦🏻♀️😅
It's Hawaizona
We didn't get this far though! We turned around at the nice lookout spot
GoPro cameras make it all look absurdly inaccurate. That stupid awful curve in the image.
Crawlers ledge wasn’t scary at all. The people from Ohio that we passed on the corner were not loving it though. 😅
I loved it. Solid rock with good hand holds. There were some exposed dirt sections after that I wasn’t as fond of though!
I will never understand why people nor care to understand them.🤦🏾
