Bhai specially request hain 16th , 17th aur 18th January mai MORIGAON district ka JAGIROAD ke pass ek traditional (JOON BEEL MELA ) PAHAR -BHOIYAM milkar mela hota hain , uhan par prachin business saman ka exchange (binimoy protha ) dekhai dega jahan par money use nahi hota .
Itna puch rha hai aur koi thikse bata hi nahi raha bihu hai kya magh bihu me kya hota hai! 3types of Bihu..Magh Bihu(magh ka mahina) or also called Bhugali(feasting) Bihu..this bihu is mainly for celebrating newly harvested crops by feasting on different types of cookies(peetha) and laddus made from mainly rice and also feasting on meat products! But Magh Bihu is celebrated for 2days and u already missed day one..the first day is called Uruka which was today on 13th..on this day all over Assam bazars are opened for sale of all kinds of food..specially Dahi(cow and buffalo), different kinds of peethas and laddus, seera and moori, fish, duck, chicken, pig, goats etc..and on the same day a tall structure made from bamboo, wood etc is made and a temporary cottage is built at an open field near the structure..generally one structure is built per village..by the local youths.. the young lads make the structure and they feast and sleep inside the temp cottage that night.. then comes the next day when the structure is lit on fire by a designated person before dawn or u can say with the first sunlight..and we pray that our negative energy and thoughts may burn away with that structure which is called a "mezi".. and along with the mezi the temp cottage which is called a "bhela ghar" is also burnt away! Then that day after offering prayers the breakfast begins with dahi, peetha, laddu, moori, seera, different types of aloo..and the lunch and dinner has all kinds of veggies and non veg items that you can dream of! Also it is said that it is compulsory to consume those types of aloos or else it will be bad in some sense like not fully celebrating the Magh Bihu festival or of that sort ..i think there are 5 types of aloos(potato) that we should consume but i only know 3 of them coz as far as i can recall theose are not cultivated anymore or are very rare nowadays! Then comes the Bohag(bohag month) Bihu or Rongali(rong=rang=>rangeen=> nach gana) Bihu And then comes Kati(Kati month) Bihu or Kongali(scarcity) Bihu Will not get into the details for those two. But in another words u can call this Magh Bihu as celebration of abundance and prayers to the almighty to bless with abundance all the year!
