  • In part 2 I go over the visual diffrence in 01-03 and 04-05 Raptor starter clutch. I install the starter clutch and do some cleaning prep for new starter clutch. Starter clutch is about a 2 hour job from removal to full assembly with all correct tools on hand and Parts.

    There is always haters when making a video. I love when someone fixes their own. We learn from our mistakes. And if we don't make mistakes we are not learning. Yes there is specs,not everyone has the proper tools. I would give you 2 thumbs up just for the effort. A lot of people just want to see how hard something is knowing that they will never do it themselves but try to talk down the person that is. I think you did good you did it yourself.

      Thank you. Can't make everyone happy. But you should know I have not had one issue with it. Running great. Again thank you for you courteous reply.

    Wish you could find tutorials like this for all parts relating to raptors. It’s always a learning experience because I have to do things without knowing what to do! For example I cracked my starter cover in half the first time when replacing my stator. Lol, great tutorial my man!

    Good video, I know it's a few years old. NEVER oil the tapered shaft or the inside of the tapered flywheel where the woodruff key goes - that needs to be a dry fit or use loc-tite. Torque wrench!!! Almost everyone can relate to this video, especially if you work on your own toys.

    It’s a one way bearing replacement and it’s attached behind flywheel not clutch. Clutch is on other side!! Great job on replacement I’ve seen peeps really struggle doing this

    Only use an impact to loosen not tighten.The only thing that needed loctite was the flywheel nut. But not a bad job. My raptor would crank but wouldn't fire, I found a blown 20 amp fuse on the solenoid, replaced it and haven't had a problem since.

    • @LifeofAedan
      @LifeofAedan 5 лет назад

      Scott Bowers I found that out the hard way. Cracked the smaller cover reinstalling it with a impact.

  • @OGKILLa9365
    @OGKILLa9365 4 года назад +12

    I cringed so hard when you where using the impact driver on the side cases. You don't tighten them like wheel lug nuts lol. You use a ratchet and torque wrench by hand. Or else next person that pulls it apart is gonna have aluminum threads on all the bolts you over-tightened

    Where does the negative wire on the upper right hand side go? I can't figure out where it goes and you don't put it on anything in your video. My starter isn't working and I think that's the reason why it just clicks. Any help would be appreciated

    Is the big gear in the back supposed to move forward and backwards a little? I just installed mine and that gears moves in and out. When removing didnt pay attention if it did that initially

    • @devonadamson6561
      @devonadamson6561 2 года назад

      2 years late but for y'all reading these comments in the future. That big gear shouldn't have much play at all, there should be a washer between it and the more inner side of the shaft. I didn't replace that washer and I learned quick when I started it that something wasn't right. (Loud grinding sound) The bigger gear was making contact with the smaller one and that play pushed it over and had it skipping around in there damaged the edges of both gears. They do a lot better with that small washer in place.
