    Many people don't like the face of the MT-10 but for that is the reason I love it. To me it has the not giving a crap of being not cute attitude because it is attractive already being the counterpart of the R1. It just looks so distinctive that makes it unique.

    Just picked one up. After 100 miles or so.. absolutely love it. This is such a huge upgrade from my 2018 MT09. If your thinking of getting this, I highly recommend it. After some tire scrubbing, this bike is NIMBLE. Great in the twisties. And one heck of a power house.

    OC: I still like the look of the older style more and would probably choose the older one but the tech and upgrades of the new one are top notch! I'd for sure need some time to think it out if I was given the choice to be given one or the other. It's definitely one of those "It'll grow on ya" kinda things.

    Tip on Wiz Wheel: Don't push it in, push it up and in. Works way better and more smoothly. With practice, it isn't bad at all. Through ownership of 2 R1s I never figured this out, and fought with it every time I used it. I recently read this wonderful tip in a RUclips comment, and it works.

    Id go for a 2022 just because i have a 22 MT07 and I love the cyber sci-fi look of the headlight. I compare my MT-07 to the moto terminators from terminator salvation. Im a fan of the MT-10 head light it looks very robotic and is a nice change of pace compared to the round head lights most other bikes have. I feel yamaha is taking the leap and making it original very much like KTMs big alien head lights. Just my opinion. OC

Apparently the San Francisco Bay Area is located in 'The Sticks' for Yamaha to take over a year to send out a bike. I pick it up Tuesday. I'm not a happy camper. OC Been riding my 22 SP for a month now and I absolutely love it. Only thing I’d prefer the old one is probably I felt the old one wheelies much easier like it wants to go up everywhere, the new one I had to really give it some

    • @TAR_MEDIA_AUS
      @TAR_MEDIA_AUS 2 года назад

      What suspension mode are you riding in. I found with mine when on A3 it didn't want to wheelie nearly as much as when in A1. I think A3 soaks up the power hit a bit. But in A1 with LIF/SC off its just as nuts as the gen 1. I've also gone back to a 43t rear to accurately compare to the gen 1 which in turn has shortened the wheelbase slightly.

    • @hipposnakeyo
      @hipposnakeyo 2 года назад

      @@TAR_MEDIA_AUS Interesting. I was in A3. I also rode mine on track too in M1 and it still doesn't want to wheelie, maybe the ohlins shock provided a lot support making it harder. I plan to try M3 next, that should be the easiest.

    • @TAR_MEDIA_AUS
      @TAR_MEDIA_AUS 2 года назад

      @@hipposnakeyo all I've done to mine is set the Preload for my weight and I ride in A3 or A1 depending on road conditions and find it really nice. I could probably stiffen up A1 a little more if I was on track with slicks but for the road it's great. Is there a reason you use the manual modes rather than the auto modes. You can still dial it in harder or softer in the auto modes as well.

    • @hipposnakeyo
      @hipposnakeyo 2 года назад +1

      @@TAR_MEDIA_AUS my local track has quite some alleviation changes, in Active mode I find myself not very precise with my lines, but in M1 it’s almost telepathic. On mountains I use A2, hit some hidden bumps that bounced my butt off the seats and I thought for sure I’d bent the wheels but it didn’t, I’m really impressed.

    It’s still not doing it for me Chase! Ive owned a MT10SP since 2017 and the dash I’ve had for 4 years now, don’t like them leaving off the side fairings and also don’t like the way you can see the horn and steering dampener at the front. It did not need air ducts which basically your just hearing the Air Box induction more, much prefer the slits in the tank panels like the R1 and my 2017 MT10SP has. Every one has their own opinion but its not worth the upgrade from mine. Looking forward to the next revision 👍

  • @danlford

    • @reddpill
      @reddpill 2 года назад +1

      @@FadilKarim Well that was their conclusion. Also there's really nothing wrong with the MT09 chassis and SP suspension but like you said it's not a race bike version.

      I like the MT10 better. I couldn't come to love the somewhat wonky ergonomics or the horrid switch gear of the SDR. And the SDR did some weird and annoying auto throttle blip at 4,000 RPM on deceleration. Though the power was incredible, great suspension and brakes. Nothing on the MT10 really pisses me off though. The fueling could be better at the smallest throttle openings, but I can live with it as long as I stay in power mode 3. I can think about riding rather than particular annoying aspects of the bike, like with the 1290 SDR.
