BIG SHOUT OUT TO OUR Y&F LEGENDS MEMBERS:
Mohammed Soliman,
Brits always ask "Is this a special game?" Nope just ah Saturday in the fall.
Yeah every game for college is like this not to mention its normal to cook out and have company over for each game at your house as well.
Fridays are high school football. Saturdays are College football. Sundays (and sometimes Mondays and Thursdays) are NFL professional football.
I prefer College football and my team/alumni is only found on ESPN 3 or up, if found televised on cable at all.
Eat ‘em up Kats. ❤❤❤
@@hatleyhoward7193 Go Ducks (Eugene, Oregon)
But it is a “special game” and it is most definitely not like this at every stadium at every game. Stop lying
@@F28aj I live in Texas. That stadium might as well be a high school football game on a Friday night. Not special. The norm around here. And just look it up before you start calling people liars.
Michigan had to call a time out because the crowd was so loud they couldn't hear the call.... That's an advantage of having a loud crowd.
QB was seeing squiggly lines
@@EricBurns1 Bros hot routes weren’t working either
@@TheSloppyjoejrcouldn’t call audibles
Well they actually did it to avoid a delay a game penalty because the play clock ran out.
@@MonarchEASBecause they couldn’t snap the ball. Because of the noise
Just say Penn State. This game is a special game every year at night called "The White Out" It's a night game, nationally televised and against a high ranked team usually in conference. A big game for them and one of the many traditions in college football... This is also a regular game on the schedule, not a championship or anything. THIS is how high level college football is EVERY weekend. Unlike any pro sport ANYWHERE around the world.
Buckeye fan here. The PSU white out is one of the best traditions in college football.
@@CptGreenJeans at some point they have to win correct? They never will, because of what that school and the NCAA did to Paterno. PSU’s white out was cool when they actually mattered… it doesn’t and they don’t…GO BLUE
It’s supposed to be a night game against the biggest time, but snake ass Fox always puts the big games on their Big Noon Kickoff.
Was against the best rival (OSU or Michigan) every year until FOX got their grubby little hands on it and fucked it all up.
All because of the scarcity of football. Only 12 regular season games per year. Half of which (6 or 7) are usually home. When you put that into perspective it's so special because you only get a few of these games per year to cherish these moments.
It's called a WHITEOUT. Local television, radio, sports stations, and the school will all be advertising this game is a whiteout. Sometimes they will give you props such as towels or pom poms at the gate when you enter.
For context, this is the only time I’ve EVER seen a team need to call one of their 3 timeouts on the FIRST PLAY OF THE GAME.
Timeouts are normally used to regroup, stop the clock, or change something in your team. They can be very precious toward the end of the half or the end of the game to manage time so they’re usually saved for later. Michigan were completely lost here and couldn’t hear a thought in their own head
Uga vs Arkansas in 2021, they didn’t use a timeout, but probably should’ve because they had like 2 or 3 false starts back to back on their first possession of the game because the crowd was so loud, and it was a day game.
In the first half, time outs aren't nearly as valued. But it is still pretty nuts to see it in the first play. 😆
I was SO pissed man
This is just your average NCAA football weekend during the season!
We need to fly these people out to the US and have them experience all of this in person, it takes it up an entire new level
State College, where the Penn State Main Campus is located, becomes the 3rd largest city in Pennsylvania when they play a home game at Beaver Stadium. It's really hard to put into words how big College Football is and the traditions that are behind it all.
You guys don't understand "school spirit". I graduated high school in 1966 and I still support my school's team. The stands include students alumni and fans.
We don’t understand it because we have multiple professional teams in our sports that represent our town or city
@@chopsquotes9326we have that as well, College Football just happens to be as big as the professional sports here.
You haven't been to a sports game until you go to a college football game, especially if it's a rivalry game
The US is so large there are many states without an NFL Team. In general, the further away from a large city College ( Average age 18-21) & even High School (Average age 16-18) Football is life.
Ironically Pennsylvania has 2 professional teams
@@crankfastle8138 As does Ohio, but the Luckeyes are still huge there.
I loved white out games! We usually had a couple a year. Night games. This game against Michigan drew in about 110,000 people. The stadium should only hold 106,000. Lol. I think Michigan still has the largest stadium. I can't remember how many it holds.
Michigan Stadium's official capacity is 107,601. The attendance record is 115,109.
Pennsylvania native here. People go MAD for penn state! I love it!
Record attendance for a college football game is 150,990, Tennessee vs Virginia Tech played 2016. It was regular season game. It was played at the Bristol Motor Speedway close to the city of Bristol which straddles the Virginia / Tenn state line.
That's always hilarious, they were fucking with Michigan big time LMAO That was just a normal Penn st/Michigan game, not a playoff game or anything. That's how we roll in the B1G
O-H!
People who attend the football games are general fans, students of the college and alumni who have graduated. Penn State football team plays with Blue Jerseys for home games and white for away games. The years that are for undefeated championships they won those years
I've been to these white out games as a penn state fan. The atmosphere is something truly spectacular. It is deafening loud. It's really hard to put into words the experience but it's a memory that I cherish.
The years that are on the sides represents their undefeated, conference championship and NATIONAL Championship years. Including 2012, in which was not a championship or a undefeated season but to recognize the team after what happened during the Sandusky Scandal and that the team was not allowed to be in bowl games (Almost the Death Penalty of the NCAA) that year but for the players that stayed at Penn State and did not transfer out of the University and Football team.
Penn State doesn’t always do a White out. It’s typically saved for really big rivalry games at night. Also, this stadium is one of the largest in the world (I think the 4th largest) at 106,000.
Haha. Ok. The lion king with master chief had me laughing.
It's their White Out for a special game. PSU VS Michigan. You guys should checkout the Big Ten Stadiums.
I think that stadium holds 101,000 or somewhere in that ballpark. This is Penn state’s white out game. It is a special game for the fan base. And it is definitely a loud environment.
That Penn State white out game is intense for sure, but nothing compares to going into Baton Rouge LSU Death Valley at night.
The crowd gets loud (especially on 3rd downs) because they know they can effect the game.
They disrupt the verbal communication between the QB and all 10 other offensive players. The play calls and adjustments get sent in to the QB by the coach on each play .
If an offense doesn't convert on 3rd down they typically punt the ball away to the opponent on 4th down to push the other team far down the field. Instead of giving them a short field.
As a Sparty, from MSU, like 80% of those underage teens are also hammered, a rite of passage in the Midwest
This is pretty much the norm in Big Ten and SEC stadiums. I love how they thought it must have been a championship game 😂
I don’t know if anyone told you but the away team always wears white in college football. Penn States players are wearing blue in this game despite the “White Out.”
1:40 - The 'dates' (years) embossed around the stadium indicate the seasons Penn State went undefeated, won a national championship, or (starting with the 1990 season) won a conference championship. They are currently in the Big 10 (which now has 16 teams).
Bars ❤
The "White Out" game doesn't require for Penn State fans to wear anything specific other than it has to be white. White t-shirt, white jersey, whatever it is..just make sure you wear white. Opposing team fans, if they have a ticket obviously don't wear white. That college stadium holds over 106,000 people.
This is the annual White Out game held at Penn State each year. It’s their most famous game. This stadium is the second biggest stadium in North America. What you are watching is a game from the beginning of the season, NOT a finals game. There are currently approximately 47K students that attend classes at this campus alone and Penn State has a total of 22 campuses. The fans you see here are mostly students, alumni and their families. WE ARE!!
College football in the US is the ultimate experience IMO. I love all sports but nothing comes close to the passion and excitement I feel for college football.
This is why college football in the states is the premiere sport for a lot of us. It's just a different vibe than any other sport. This is considered a 'White out' which is for big night games at Penn State and as a fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, who have to go play here, this is always a game we fear in the Big Ten.
The Penn State game in the beginning is a specific game for them, obviously called the white out game. Its an annual event, and its usually the biggest tailgate event of the year for PSU. So tickets are often sold out far in advance, so there will be little to none opposing fans
Brits sing songs at Prem games, while Americans scream their lungs out.
Love seeing other countries react to college football. Doesn’t matter what school. Just makes me feel American
That is a rivalry game between Penn state and Michigan, the is one of the "white out" game, to intimate the other team. The stadium is is named Beaver stadium. It holds about 105,000 people.
The University of Michigan does this too. It is called a Maize Out. Everyone in Michigan Stadium wearing Maize. Michigan Stadium is also the biggest stadium in college football. Holding 115,000 people.
These are typical games
Every game is this full because there’s only 13 of them so they are all HUGE games and there’s no playoffs so you have to win every game 😂 (until this year)
Man the energy in that stadium was crazy
The stadiums like at Penn State (you are watching), Michigan (the opponents), Ohio State, Tennessee have 110,000 fans at their games. Yes, college football is crazy.
My kids go to Penn State now. Just as fun as the game is the tailgating before you go into the stadium. Sometimes too much fun where you never make it in.
I was at this game. It was my senior year in the student section. This place was so loud I can’t emphasize this enough. Amazing experience and hope one day you two can experience THE PENN STATE WHITE OUT! WE ARE!! 🔵⚪️🔵⚪️ 🦁
The Penn State Stadium holds 108,000 fans, and every game sells out.
Penn State also does a Stripe Out where they alternate sections of the stadium uniformly in team colors, blue and white. It's usually during the day though
This is a once a season ‘white out’ game with different opponents. Penn State team has 2 other Pennsylvania state college teams they occasionally play….Pitt/University of Pittsburgh in the western side and Temple University Philadelphia in the eastern side. Beaver stadium holds 105,000 one of the larger college stadiums in the US.
That’s 110,000 + people in there. The white out is like nothing you will EVER experience in ANY other sport. This is next level. WE ARE!
In their national championship years I do not think they did every home game as a white-out. I was a casual observer playing on another team back then so I had only passing knowledge.
This is Beaver stadium in State College Pennsylvania yes that is the name of the town. Capacity is a little over 106,000. This is known as the White Out and it is to sync out the other team. The team is known as Penn State.
We love our college football. It's how we spend our Saturdays.
It was definitely not a “cup final” but it was a regular season conference game. Penn State’s “white out” games is when all fans wear all white and go belligerent. This was a wild game due to them forcing Ichigan Uni to take a time out due to how loud the crowd was on the first snap. So loud that the entire offense couldn’t hear the QB’s call for the ball to snap.
this is a regular season game. every game in college football is important if you want to make it to the playoffs
FYI , Michigan's stadium is the 3rd largest in the world. Has seating for 107,000 but standing capacity can bring it up to 117,000. Think Penn and Tennessee are almost as big.
I believe Beaver Stadium (Penn State)is in the top 5 biggest stadiums in the world. The team they are playing Michigan is in the top 5 also.
This is coolege football and in all the stadiums around the country this is how it is.
Attendance was likely somewhere between 102k and 107k, Penn State has the 3rd biggest stadium in the country
Lol 102k-107k would be low for PSU, their 2023 average attendance was 108,409… There were 110,669 people at this game
Also 2nd biggest stadium in the country, 3rd biggest stadium in the world
This was just a regular season game not a cup final. If I remember correctly there were over 110,000 people at that game. This is a big rivalry game.
Some games will have a theme Black out or White out etc would be pretty common. Where everbody wears a certain color
I wouldnt say those are normal stadium sizes. But major schools generally have massive stadiums bigger than some of our Pro teams
Not only is the opposing team nervous so are little boys everywhere. 😂
I live here where Penn State is, and this place gets crazy on football weekends. The stadium holds over 100,000 people, and they go absolutely crazy.
It is called a WHITE OUT and done for Night games against the Ohio State and Michigan. I am OREGON DUCK fan and they will be doing this for us also. This will be Oregon , USC, Washington and U.C.L.A.' first season as New Members in the BIG 10 Conference. The PAC-12 imploded.
While I haven’t been to a Primer League game we have Primer League level passion for University Athletics. Beaver Stadium is one of several 100,000 thousand seat venues.
Listen college football is a religion in our beautiful country! It’s a big deal! I have a 16-year-old daughter who is a varsity cheerleader in high school and cheerleading is her entire world and she is intent on being a cheerleader in college and I hope she makes it because what an exciting time and what an experience! These are college students and adults coming together and enjoying this amazing game!
Penn State is call the White Out because ,this is where all the ( fans) spectators wear white for there home game!
I have friend who went to Penn state and was at this game and had short term hearing damage afterwards. This is probably the loudest outdoor crowd at a college game ever broadcasted on television
The energy/size of the biggest soccer game in Europe - that's the vibe every single fall Saturday all across America
Michigan Stadium (The Big House), Ohio Stadium (Ohio State) and Beaver Stadium (Penn State) are the 3 biggest stadiums in the country and the most toughest stadiums in College Football. Including Texas Tech (which is not part of the Big 10 conference)
I drive to this stadium from New York City to watch the games. No other atmosphere can compare
The stadium officially holds 106,500 or so… but I’ve been there when a record crowd of over 110,000 filled every nook and cranny… including standing room on the observation areas!
I’m a Penn State hater but I’ve been to probably 5 games there. The atmosphere is better than any other sporting event I’ve been to.
Nothing sweeter than going into a wild ruckus environment and shutting everyone up!
Actually, it was really normal for a regular game in terms of attendance.
This is a common occurrence at every home game.
Penn State Nittany Lions team colors are blue and white. Each team only plays about ½ dozen home games each year. It's not just students, but alumni will also help fill the stands, as well as regular fans. Penn State's Beaver Stadium is the second largest in the US, with over 106,500 seats.
86 was a long time ago 😂
Almost 40 years since a championship. This is all they have to celebrate.
Penn State’s stadium capacity is 106,574. It’s called Beaver Stadium. The façade below the luxury suites inside Penn State's Beaver Stadium honors only teams that have gone undefeated, won national championships or won conference championships.
It’s around 110k and this isn’t a cup final, just a local derby vs two schools
I live less then 4 miles from Beaver Stadium and if the winds are right i can sit outside and hear the roar of the crowd on night games like this, and listen to the distant rumble of the fireworks every time Penn State scores.
There is nothing like the history and tradition of college football. Its strange. The passion, the pageantry to watch teenagers, most who never will do this professionally. We have to hope that expansion and moving towards a pro model won't ruin what the game has built...
Center couldn't hear quarterback to hike ball an time delay five yard loss. This is a regular game Michigan vs Penn st. A rival game. These colleges passed out to students get first bib on tickets. So a college that has sixty thousand students they can sell tickets to these games.
This is a normal Saturday game, my guy.
110,000 fans. The stadium capacity is 107,000, but PSU shoves 110,000+ into Beaver Stadium for the Whiteout. Best college football environment every year. The dates that y’all asked about in the beginning are years that Penn State won a national championship
It’s called the white out game everyone wears white weather they bring themselves like that or the stadium will provide white shirts. And it usually exceeds the capacity of the stadium which is usually 107k on the white out week can reach 110k-113k
This was literally just a normal Saturday night CFB
Most ranked college games have a feel close to this but the whiteout does stand a cut above the rest.
We get to enjoy this every week
I grew up in State College a little over 2 miles away from the stadium....and if you step outside and listen you can hear the crowd yelling during big moments
Penn State "whiteout" Fans are asked to wear the white for these occasions. This is a regular game. Stadium holds officially holds 102,000 but has accommodated 110.000 The noise is airport level
Even with our team Fresno State, we'll have whiteout games where everybody wears white or blackout games too where everybody wears black. It just depends on the night whatever they set it for
Oh Michigan (in white) had their backs to the Penn States Student Sections which has been known to be the greatest Student Sections of College Football. The one reason is that THE NOISE THAT THEY Produce. When your an opposing QB trying to callouts, you will barley hear your self or your teammates.
Michigan vs Ohio State, simply 'The Game' for over 100 years. The Ten Yea4s being the most famous.
These guys definitely should react to the long form video that describes the oldest rivalry in American sports
College football is EVERYTHING
When I watch this video, I can almost smell autumn.
Those dates on the stands likely represent championships. Those might be conference or national.
This game is Michigan Wolverines at Penn State Nittany Lions. It's a regular season game. Penn State's stadium holds more than 100,000 people. D1-FBS normally gets 6 home games per year, 7 if they host a Conference Championship. Some conferences play Conference Championship games at neutral stadiums, some don't.
The playoffs expand this year from 4 teams to 12 teams for D1-FBS.
NFL players are more talented than College Football players, but College Football is the original.
There is at least 10 stadiums on a Saturday filled too capacity like that stadiums that hold 100000+
If you see the "16" next to Michigan and the "7' next to Penn State, that's their national ranking. Both are big-time football universities so this an important game for keeping ranking. Hence like the others said it's a "WHITEOUT" game because a lot is at stake and it is a big opponent they are playing.
Every team has 2 main colors, one for home and one for away. Fans wear either their school clothing or at least color coordinate to match. Lots of fans wear jerseys as well.
Crazy part is almost every smaller state has a huge team and sometimes 2 or more. Some states are more pro centric (New York …biggest team is Syracuse which is meh (they are huge in basketball) but then Mississippi has (ole miss and miss state…huge teams )
To put into perspective 8 if the 10 largest stadiums in the world are college football stadiums. Just a crowd there to see athletes who up until recently, didn't even make any money to play.
It's a white out game at Penn State.. they do one every year. It's an event you have to experience. We Are... Penn State. Michigan has the largest stadium and Penn State is second with I believe holding 105 thousand fans.
This is just a regular Saturday game. College football is bigger than the NFL. College stadiums are larger than the NFL stadiums. This is Penn State, this is one of their "white out" games. The Pittsburgh Steelers & the Philadelphia Eagles are the NFL teams in PA, but Penn State is more popular. PSU..
