Exactly! Good recall! That episode always blew my mind as a child. I didn't think crossovers in cartoons existed. Rewatching that episode as an adult is still odd and yet cool.
Ever hear of Donald Marshall? His stories of irl consciousness transfer seem to be hinted at in this old cartoon episode 🤔
So Cobra Commander #1 opens with the Return of Megatron which leads to a possible Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover.

The Energon Universe has the potential to be so good and so much fun. I'm so invested in this series and I'm really enjoying the origin stories we're getting so far
Interesting. They have essentially combined about 30-40 years of the most iconic and recognizable storylines from various sources into one (so far) cohesive story. It's not original per say, but it does seem to be done well (so far). Look forward to seeing where it goes.
if they adapt this Energon Verse into the Rebooted Transformers thats going on right now, I can see Wyatt Russell as Duke

I remember bank in the 80's even i was in school they had a whole run of gi Joe and transformers comics from marvel. It's great to see them bring it back in this way. 🔥🔥🔥

I hope MASK, Action Man, Rom and other Hasbro properties are slowly introduced in the Energon universe as well.
Those were all in idws hasbro universe alongside micronoughts and visionaries. I would like to see all of these in this universe but let's also throw in some new stuff. I'm thinking power rangers,stretch Armstrong and inhumanoids specifically( assuming there's no rights issues of course)

The Energon Universe is the best thing comics has given us in a long time.
Can you do history of the Elementals, Cyclone and Sandman along with Kurt Conners the Lizard, Rhino, Chameleon, Scorpion and the Human Fly along with the Tinkerer, Alistair Smythe the Ultimate Spider Slayer, Living_Brain, and Prowler?
What I’m wondering is are they going to go the Marvel route and give Megatron his G2 Tank design, the Animated route and give him a design that’s original but still shares a lot of G1 influence, or is he somehow going to keep his classic look. Personally hoping for the second option, but it would be cool to see that big green and purple tank in Daniel Warren Johnson’s artstyle.

the issue covered here has been out for some time.
they cannibalised megatron for his tech like cobra's version of insecticons and new experiments on tech. optimus prime used the matrix of power to save humans in another issue. starscream destroyed skywarp to sap his energy because they were low on energons/energy.
a pet peeve of mine is that duke is supposed to have a short flat top hair cut in the military not a kurt cobain hairstyle even when he was younger.
You gotta remember this is a Duke that’s been broken, and now he’s on the run. But I can already tell that once we get to the end of the arc and GI-Joe is formed, he’ll definitely go back to his iconic look!

so they pull Transformers Animated with a scientist finding remains of Megatron. Sadly, in this case it is a very mad scientist instead of a fairly innocent one. As for Duke, be interesting to see how they incorporate him into GIJoe. It may depend on whatever the doctor gave him.
Cobra Commander eyeing up the other Cybertronians doesn’t bode well for Skywarp above all of them considering his teleportation abilities.

You got a couple things wrong there they're not in the past and he killed the original Cobra Commander from the 86 movie in the first couple of panels.

Transformers should not be involved with GI Joe, which is a different genre and will not be fun. GI Joe movies alone make them good enough to watch.
I do NOT like the fact that the New Skybound Energon Universe Is very dark, depressing, and violent. The new G.I.Joe and the Transformers comic book Universe are obviously NOT for the older 1980's G.I.Joe / Transformers Fans ! I am, No longer, Interested, In these comic books because they are for a younger audience. I do NOT like the new dark tone for the Skybound Transformers /G.I.Joe comic books.
