  • The blower motor is the fan that pushes heated or cooled air through dashboard vents based on the climate system settings and the fan speed…
    Removal
    Disconnect the negative battery terminal
    Disconnect the connector of the blower motor
    Remove the blower motor after loosening the mounting screws
    Install in the reverse order of removal
    Tools I used

    I think this has to be the most helpful RUclips video of all time. A perfect tutorial with explanation of all parts and steps ! Thank so much!

    This video was super helpful! I heard a humming coming from the passenger area about 2 weeks ago when the A/C was on high blast. Did some problem solving and when I put my hand on the HVAC blower motor I could feel a vibration. I quickly came to the conclusion the motor was going out. I quickly came to RUclips and found this video and saw how easy it was to disassemble (3 screws and a clip). I ordered a replacement blower motor on eBay for 60 bucks and I installed it today! Noise/vibration is gone and A/C is blowing normal now!
    You need to be careful of the the clip. On mine was a bit tricky, you need to squeeze the far side of the clip (the clip is located on the side away from you) and then pull it out. The clip needs to be disengaged from the hole and then you can easily pull it off. Don't just yank on it like the video, you will break the clip.
    Also a short screwdriver would be better than a normal one for this job only because of how much room there is from the floor board to the blower
    That's basically it. Everything else is straight forward. Took me about 10 to 15 minutes to uninstall and reinstall the new one.

    Thank you for this. I had no idea that was so accessible when our heater went out my husband was sure we would have to take out the engine to access it.

    What are those grey tubes you put on the connector before you put on the heat shrink tubes? Where can I find them?

      Those are KIA OEM butt connector, we get them directly from KIA, you get similar or better from Amazon. Look for butt connector and you will see all kind off choices.

    Is it normal for this vehicle for the engine RPMs to go up to almost 1000 while A/C nob is in the number 3 & 4 position? On settings 1 & 2 the RPMs remain normal around 700/750. Also when on those higher settings I hear a slight whining noise that’s kind of intermittent and the idle is kind of funky also but when letting off the brake at a stop light the whining noise goes away. This only happens again when the A/C is set to the 3rd or 4th position. Would love some insight if this is normal operation or something is off. The A/C blows cold air but it does not have a very strong flow in the highest setting or seems to be working extra hard. Any comments would be helpful, thanks for the video!

      Yes the RPM thing is normal, using higher settings draws more current from the electrical system so the engine compensates for it.. As for the whiny noise maybe replacing the blower motor would help?

    Would it be the same cause if the problem is intermittent blowing(turns off and on randomly) instead of just no blowing at all?

    • @WrenchingRyan
      @WrenchingRyan  5 месяцев назад +1

      possible, if your connector in burnt like this, then while you driving blower motor will intermittently turn on/off, the vibration from your vehicle help the connector make temporarily good connection.

      @@WrenchingRyan yeah by playing with the connector I was able to get good connection, but it was temporary. Like you said the vibration made it turn on and off.

    I have the same vehicle but they work in none of the speeds. What would be the problem?

    • @WrenchingRyan
      @WrenchingRyan  2 месяца назад

      it could be a bad blower motor, open circuit or the module itself.
