Isiah Thomas overcoming the Celtics was another one where it took years of losing to them.
It was the right of passage all the way to the Bulls. Unfortunately, after them, no team was next and they just went into the sunset with the reigns. It should've been Shaq and Orlando next, but instead of coming back, he left. That robbed us of probably 2-3 more seasons of a rivalry and who knows, Jordan likely would've stuck around if he traded losses with Orlando.

I love how people (millennials) say that that era was weak and full of plumbers. Let me tell you something, I grew up in that era and it was ridiculous talent then. The way Jordan was limping in the video was just a sample of coming into the paint. The motto back then was "come into the lane, you're gonna get pain". There was ALWAYS someone draped on you, hand checking you, pushing or pulling your arm when you went to shoot or clobbering you when you went inside. This were common fouls in my time. I lifted just like he did just to be ready for certain teams. I did NOT want anyone to have any advantage over me at all! I'm still like that and I'll be 47 this year. I need to be ready to go at any time, anywhere. I'm wired just like Mike and Kobe, I promise you. Just wasn't as blessed as they are/ were with their talents. But I did alright on my level lol.
