I’ve been enjoying my S15. Balanced, non fatiguing, full sounding, nice midrange. No more planar metallic timbre in the treble, no more planar weightless bass, no more thin mids, no more paper-thin imaging. It’s the most natural sounding planar IEM I have heard, combining strengths of planar and DD. For the first time, I hear bounciness in the bass of a planar IEM. Other planar bass has too fast decay, due to the speed of planar driver. I’m not sure whether it’s achieved by the R module. Now bass is not only slamming like other planars, but they are also weighty and bouncy. Compared to the S12, the reduced treble energy makes the midrange stands out, and I could hear much more details in the midrange, where the soul of the music lies. Couple with the textured, tight, robust and slightly warm bass, the whole tuning makes the S15 a very musical set.
Your comparison reviews send my head spinning... but in a good and intense way... so many nuances, stacked on top of one another for comparison... Much respect for your work - it really takes a deep level of understanding to be able to articulate all of that.
Demoed the S15 awhile back, agree that it's very musical, very relaxed, smooth, inoffensive. Not sure how the passive radiator/filtering whatever plays into it. Speaking of Michael Bruce his recent video did go a little into it in between drilling a hole right down the middle. Interesting stuff.
As someone with very little experience with iem planars, these kind of detailed reviews are very helpful. All the best in the new year to everyone in chat! Much love
been eyeing on the s15 and mp145 since the release date of them. thank you for the detailed comparison and also the recommendation. I always wanted to try planar. And I think the mp145 suits me. cause I don't have that much to spend on the s15.
Hi HBB! Loved your video! Yes i have the MP145, commented about it a few times and is in line with your comments on it. I got it for about a 25% discount on 11-11 so i am happy with them, a different flavor vs the raptgo hookx. The s15 is getting a lot of praise, but i have made my choice!
I love the S15. I needed to figure out how to get the best out of them first, but they are now the best IEM in my collection. Great detail and timbre, slam and impact. For me the blue voice tips worked the best. However, the biggest effect was turning up the volume a bit. I'm a very careful listener and on lower volumes there was too much bass bleed. But when you give them power, they open up.
Out of these three, the MP145 stands out for me since it is nearly the half price of the s15 and they are similary tuned. Interesting to hear that the GL30 puts the vocals behind since they dampened that specific frequency range and how it affects the listening experience.
Really appreciated your discussion of frequency range, harmonics and listener perception. It touches on things that directly effect the listener's enjoyment but tethering the discussion to musical terminology that is used regularly outside the headphone/iem space, rather than resorting to sometimes vague or imprecise lingo that seems to be popular among many of the reviewers out there right now.... Thanks for that 👍
Definitely on the higher end of planar IEMs. Interesting as a lot of recent planars have been hitting the $100-150 price range. But always nice to see that development is being done at the $300-$800 range as well as these hopefully make their way down to the lower price brackets later on.
I'm so glad you told me that the gold was not gold, I was looking at that just for the size alone. But I would love to give it a try. Hope you family is doing much better!
I have the S15 and find them amazing, same level (or better) than the good old Hook-X, another excellent set. We can say that the S15 are really keeping up the planar war, which was a bit sleepy for some time after the initial explosions of 2021-22.
Happy Monday! I ordered your PR2s a bit ago and can't wait for them to be delivered. They will be my first step into planars, figured PR2 would be a good place to start because of the value. Can dip my toes in before I jump into the deep end.
The Goldplanar GL30s looked so impressive in your unboxing video. I generally put a decent amount of stock into graphs and professional reviews so I probably won't be buying them. But; if I won them I wouldn't flip them. There's been enough times where I've been a complete contrarian and it worked out that I'd be stupid to not give them every opportunity to impress me.
It's really hard to get these sets to demo here in my country but I've heard some great feedback on these from those who have tested them. I was able to demo the Timeless and Hook X though. They gave me a really good introduction to planars. Amazing sounding sets!
As someone who loves that Planar Speed I think I'd enjoy any of these sets. Even though the tuning isn't great I also really enjoy sound stage, (as it's called). For me bro just winning a set from you and wanting you to sign it, it would be proudly displayed at my main desk. God Bless...
I am a big Letshuoer fan, so it doesn't surprise me the S15 is very good. The S12 changed the market for the better, and proved that planar IEMs could have bass. I am digging the Artti R1, which is one of their sub-brands apparently. To your point about delayed orders, I ordered something from Linsoul on 12-28, and as of 1-8, they still haven't fulfilled the order.
That big midrange dip on the goldplanar reminds me of the audeze isine series, which is another planar with a huge vented driver. Wonder if there's a connection there
The looks of the GL30 remind me of clip-on earrings someones grandmother might wear. I would be interested in hearing how they sound and the overall fit. The S15 looks like pretty much everything else which is not a bad thing.
The Spider Graph makes the S15 look awesome! You still have the HE6se v2 still sitting there and that's my planar headphone so I'm looking for a pair of IEMs with similar performance.
Speaking of mids=Do you ever play around with any earphone style iems? I'm interested in price to value on them. I own a pair of yincrow X6's. @ $12 they're pretty dope. God bless🤙
I didn't know about the S15 until this video, but as someone who adored the S12, I may have to bite the bullet and drop the cash. This one tops the list for now
Good morning bro!! After your MP145 video I had one shipped next day, and as a result we've added the 145 as the first planar to our budget case, five in each color. It falls into our $20-$150 budget range, and adds a bit of something different to our lineup. Its going to be mostly for men I think as female artist have smaller ears and its a large unit. Its just better than anything else under $150 and I agree with your comments on it in its video review. At this price for value, Im also going to add it to our mid-tier roadcase. Its definitely going to be a niche , but having a good planar if someone asks or if we think it would be good for a certain artist is just a big plus for us. I'm still playing with the nozzles etc, it's definitely a good idea to change those if you have say a drummer one night and the next night a guitarist/vocalist. They are surprisingly comfortable to be as large as they are. Thanks for the rec!!!! Sonny T
When I said better than anything under $150 I meant planars!!!! I myself prefer DDs over most anything else, and you really have to spend some money( such as that new Canpur) to get anything That much better. I have noticed one thing, most planar iems have radically different shell designs than most other types; ie Timeless,Gold Planar, Dioko, even the MP145. Just an observation!!! All the best, Sonny T
The S15 sounds like a super enjoyable set. in the end for me it’s about the joy of listening and the gear that gives you that. Thx for a nice vid as always
I'm really excited to add a planar to my collection this year. I would like to add a Sundara for the headphones as well as an IEM. Keep the reviews coming!
The GL30 is such a massive nugget. This set has mixed reviews and seems to have a unique sound signature. Curious as to what kind of music it excels in.
I think I'll stick with my Heyday here. Did the overlay and the Heyday has more extension in upper mids and treble, while maintaining good bass and mids.
Uhh of those 3 i think the MP145 and the S15 to have the best frequency response. How do the stack up regarding resolution and imaging...would love to hear them IRL.. Happy listening 🎧❤
I like the risk that goldplanar took with those. Also happy that s15 is not just another s12. I don't own a planar yet, but if I did I think I'm most interested in the heyday atm, even if a bit of an older model
Crazy how many Planar IEMs there are these days. A few years back there was only like 1 or 2 out there and they were not tuned great. Got to admit I am a fan of Planars.
I'd love to test these but It's really hard to get these sets to demo in my country. I did manage to demo the Timeless and Hook X though. They were practically my introduction to planar IEMs. Amazing sounding sets!
That upper mid scoop on the GoldPlanar looks alot like the Sony EX-1000, which I own and absolutely love for its soundstage, so out of the three sets in this video, I'm actually the most intrigued by the GP.
That S15 is very intereseting as on how almost smooth the upper mids to treble is and not too much forward to the MP145, as well as that said passive radiator as I never had one with that kind of tech. But the one that piqued me the most is that Goldplanar GL30 as for modern planar IEMs that's pretty wild tuning, size, and ergonomics even though it ain't the best seems worth the experience even once for sheer curiousity.
Still haven’t bought my first planar. MP145 has been on my radar because of the value it provides. Your reviews & comparisons like these are gonna push me into buying one soon :) Thanks for this!
Maybe the very wide stage you descrideb for the GL30 is a consequence of the dip in the mids. Do you know how this area of the FR influences the perceived stage?
Planar wars videos are the ones I've been following eagerly since I'm a big fan of Planars, I would appreciate it if you make a video and create a tier list base on your chart
I really want a nice planar to add to my collection one of these days. I know headphones there are already great options, but the iem scene is rapidly making progress. Soon enough, the bigger options will be more available.
ooh , yeah i wonder what michael bruce could do with this gold planar. thanks for comparisons and the spider graph. Also, I am glad to hear your opinion.
Is that passive radiator impacting lower end on S15 in any way? I remember how problematic PR was on DZ4 that it required an IEM "surgery" in order to solve it which is not something many people are capable or ready to do...
Interesting planar iems. Yeah, that Letshuoer looks like a better price/performance ratio, but I have to say, that Goldpalnar has really interesting design.
I definitely appreciate planar tech, but I think I'm probably going to stick to full-size sets if I'm pursuing a planar set. I do love getting a taste of that speed/decay/totality at more affordable prices though!
I love how big those gold planar are . They look so huge and well built . I'd love to try them both ! The tuning seems very weird but I've never really heard soundstage in an iem . So I guess that would be the best place to hear it .
I love the funky form factor of the gold planar really hoping they figure out how to straighten out that response at some point. As is they look interesting, but probably pretty specific in what they work for.
The GoldPlanar looks to have a huge crater in the mids but other than that, heck even the S15 has excellent treble extension. Spectacular sets all in all. Planars sure have come a long way
Really want to try out the GL30, the previous one (GL-AMT or something) really didn't catch my eye with the design but this one is looking cool enough to try out (Even though my library might not go well with these Planars in the video but who knows XD)
I haven't really given planar much thought after not really liking the timeless, but your analysis makes me wanna try these sets. Thank you for the in depth comparison!

Demoed S15 and it was probably the best Planar IEM I've tried so far.
The honesty around what you're hearing regardless of price is great.
Letshuoer S15 is the one planar for me as Letshuoer is a company who makes very good IEMs and is a company I want to support.
Your comparison reviews send my head spinning... but in a good and intense way... so many nuances, stacked on top of one another for comparison... Much respect for your work - it really takes a deep level of understanding to be able to articulate all of that.

I don't understand the reason for the tuning of the Goldplanar. What would be the point? The S 15 seems the way to go of the three
Really appreciated your discussion of frequency range, harmonics and listener perception. It touches on things that directly effect the listener's enjoyment but tethering the discussion to musical terminology that is used regularly outside the headphone/iem space, rather than resorting to sometimes vague or imprecise lingo that seems to be popular among many of the reviewers out there right now.... Thanks for that 👍
I love planars overall. Always great to see more sets that offer something a little different.
The S15's look like the winners for me personally. Sounds like they would be very pleasant for a day to day overall set.
Glad to see companies are still trying to improve planar sound
Definitely on the higher end of planar IEMs. Interesting as a lot of recent planars have been hitting the $100-150 price range. But always nice to see that development is being done at the $300-$800 range as well as these hopefully make their way down to the lower price brackets later on.
Mp145 is my only planar. Like it a lot.
I’ve been waiting on this review. Thank you HBB.
I'm so glad you told me that the gold was not gold, I was looking at that just for the size alone. But I would love to give it a try. Hope you family is doing much better!
I really like the explanations on what the graphs mean and how it will affect the listening. Keep up the good work

i always loved the warmth of a good planar ... seems like this might just fit into my listening range since i listen to a lot of old school rock ....
Fascinating that P1 max doesn’t get mentioned. It’s a phenomenal (planar) iem. My favourite together with the Heyday
This video is about recent releases.
Yeah, I mean from people comments about other IEM’s (Timeless, S12, HookX, Heyday, etc.) 😊
Indeed p1 max is goated
Happy Monday! I ordered your PR2s a bit ago and can't wait for them to be delivered. They will be my first step into planars, figured PR2 would be a good place to start because of the value. Can dip my toes in before I jump into the deep end.

Would like your opinion S15 or Hype 4s
I have enjoyed the Letshuoer s12 Pro. Sound it sounds like there is not enough difference to upgrade. Thanks for the straight forward analysis.
The Spider Graph makes the S15 look awesome! You still have the HE6se v2 still sitting there and that's my planar headphone so I'm looking for a pair of IEMs with similar performance.

I'm interested in price to value on them.
I own a pair of yincrow X6's.
@ $12 they're pretty dope.

Eventually Planar Wars will need to be a channel all of it's own at this rate.
I didn't know about the S15 until this video, but as someone who adored the S12, I may have to bite the bullet and drop the cash. This one tops the list for now

Aloha Bruh. Great job as always. Planar is something that I have been wanting to try.❤

I'm really excited to add a planar to my collection this year. I would like to add a Sundara for the headphones as well as an IEM. Keep the reviews coming!
I only have the Timeless as my planar set. For some reason have not been reaching for it much. Gonna give them a spin today!
The GL30 is such a massive nugget. This set has mixed reviews and seems to have a unique sound signature. Curious as to what kind of music it excels in.
Really like the graphing comparrison. Doesn't explain all about how they sound but gives a really good idea. The added extra spider graph is great!

A low pina gaij like the SA6 would be a smart risk, this is just awful
Crazy how many Planar IEMs there are these days. A few years back there was only like 1 or 2 out there and they were not tuned great. Got to admit I am a fan of Planars.

Cool effort from both companies. Nice to hear about them with your detailed take

That gold planar graph looks crazy with the scoop

I still haven’t heard a planar IEM but it’s great to see new ones coming i hope it will go down in price one day.
Thanks for keeping up with these plannars. I have been wanting to see these analyzed.
It’s great to see product development continuing.
The only planar that I have tried for a prolonged time is the PR2, I hope there will be more on the cheaper price point for much broader audience.
Hope you check out the cheap, ( relativly), Kiwiears Melody too.
I have liked the song on the background, that was relaxing.
I'm chilled right now.
Happy Monday HBB 🔥
Happy monday bro
Still haven’t bought my first planar. MP145 has been on my radar because of the value it provides. Your reviews & comparisons like these are gonna push me into buying one soon :) Thanks for this!
have we reached the peak for planars? mp145 is good but fit is an issue for me, design vs comfort, wish I just waited for the s15.
Maybe the very wide stage you descrideb for the GL30 is a consequence of the dip in the mids.
Do you know how this area of the FR influences the perceived stage?
Only heard the mp145, hopefully will get to try S15 somewhere
Still rocking the PR2, which is such an insane value that I ordered an extra pair to have it ^^
Planar wars videos are the ones I've been following eagerly since I'm a big fan of Planars, I would appreciate it if you make a video and create a tier list base on your chart

ooh , yeah i wonder what michael bruce could do with this gold planar. thanks for comparisons and the spider graph. Also, I am glad to hear your opinion.
loving the choices we now have in the planner iem market
I'm curious if the S15 would be a significant upgrade from the Timeless.
Is that passive radiator impacting lower end on S15 in any way? I remember how problematic PR was on DZ4 that it required an IEM "surgery" in order to solve it which is not something many people are capable or ready to do...
Really interested in how planar in ears sound in terms of harmon curve and how they can be exciting to listen to or are they too flat.
That GL30 looks pretty cool but is massive I would be really curious to try out the fit.
Interesting planar iems. Yeah, that Letshuoer looks like a better price/performance ratio, but I have to say, that Goldpalnar has really interesting design.
I was waiting for the s15 release, but ended up with the heyday and am in love. Wish there was a place where i live where i could demo iems
Was planning to buy a Planar IEM so this review came in the nick of time, thank you.
Planar nowadays gets really good, nice vids.
I definitely appreciate planar tech, but I think I'm probably going to stick to full-size sets if I'm pursuing a planar set.
I do love getting a taste of that speed/decay/totality at more affordable prices though!
What is the overall feeling on Planars? Do people think it's potentially a way to get better sound and detail without having to spend as much?
I love how big those gold planar are . They look so huge and well built . I'd love to try them both ! The tuning seems very weird but I've never really heard soundstage in an iem . So I guess that would be the best place to hear it .
S15 does look enticing but I'm wondering if they're going to make 3 different kinds. I would rather wait to see if the one up this one.
Planars sure have come a long way
I've been waiting for you to review the S15 and compare it to the MP145
Thanks for the comparisons!
It's fun to see how in-ear planars keep improving since the Tin P1. Huge fan!! 🪭
Your room is really dope
Thanks for the Video❗️2 very nice sets 👍
Really missed the Planar wars comparison reviews! Will there be a review on the Timeless 2?
Really want to try out the GL30, the previous one (GL-AMT or something) really didn't catch my eye with the design but this one is looking cool enough to try out (Even though my library might not go well with these Planars in the video but who knows XD)
Letshuoer are killing it with build and comfort. Second only to Sennheiser in my eyes.
It looks unusual. GL30 price is higher than I thought.
Same..I forgot till prepping for vid
I haven't really given planar much thought after not really liking the timeless, but your analysis makes me wanna try these sets. Thank you for the in depth comparison!
Never listened to a planar, I'd be very excited to give it a try!
Thanks for the info. Love spider graphs!
I'm a fan of the Letshuoer brand. Good sound and material for a great price.
I love my S12. Planars seem to be the way of the future.
I got in early for the mp145 Kickstarter on a whim and haven't looked back
Enjoyed seeing this . Keep up the work :)
