@dmscksono what do they invest on, if not on infrastructure . Goal of every other country is to increase their economy by doing trade with others , is it different for Indonesia??.. Not sure how increasing trade and economic activity is not a priority 😌..
Indonesia was interested in joining BRICS. They have mentioned it publicly before but opted out to join OECD and maintain its non-alignment status instead.
It’s geopolitics Indonesia is a great and largest Muslim country and in some ways aligned with west Bricks is multipolar and treat all countries equally - their agenda mutual trust, respect and dignity No country too small . Reason for Indonesia not joining is West and issues with China
@@TheFool-mg5fc No multi-polar does not mean getting limited to power blocks. It means aligning with blocs which can provide benefits with respect to industry, raw materials, technology, economy other than the obvious that you allude to like military and political heft.
@@amitabhabanerjee11 global south not the same as multi polar. Global south or global north are jokes. Only usa russia and china are world superpowers.
In a clash of superpowers, no middle power can stand on their own. Sure Indonesia is a big and major power but is nothing compared to the sheer heft of China, Russia, EU, USA and even India. India too has ambitions of being the leader of a third faction, so where would Indonesia stand then? Whats the use of being powerful in a small pond while the oceans around you are crawling with predators that can easily eat you up for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Correct, middle powers are unable to stand on their own, which is where regional consolidation to cultivate resilience is key to adapt to the game great powers play. Indonesia has historically been able to play leading roles in the Southeast Asian region drawing in ASEAN nations who are fortunately like minded to co-operate rather than compete. Although the road shared unity is still paved with skepticism Indonesia can still try.
Ignorance is bliss
Indonesia is smaller than all of BRICS countries. What are you talking about? 😂😂😂
