Warlord is proof that physical strength and health alone will not guarantee a good life , a long life . Warlord’s mental health, seemingly joyful demeanor have allowed him a blessed life !
To say that you bested Rude in an arm wrestling match is amazing! All of the things I've heard about him from other wrestlers on just how tough and strong he was, he really was something else!
Rude had crazy strength too. There's a promo video from when he was training to fight Warrior. Rick and Heenan at the gym. At the end he climbs a rope using just his hands and makes it look simple.
I always though Rude was a small guy, I met Jesse Ventura a couple of years ago and he was legit 6’3 even today. Rude had 1” on Jesse, seems he was a legit 6’4. I was close to the isle on WCW uk tour in 93 and out of all of the guys I’d say Rude surprised me the most with his size. He had that Billy Gunn thing. Actually most hid them were pretty large on that tour, even Pillman was jacked.
He was 6’4” legitimately, if you see him next to many wrestlers like The Ultimate Warrior, Sting, Vader, etc Rude was clearly taller than all of them. And he had one of the best built bodies. Super lean but still muscular.
I went to a Wrestling even in Hawaii in the early to mid 90's, it was when Brett was feuding with Owen. We got to the arena about 5 hours early and were hanging around the back of the building to meet the wrestlers when they arrived. The Smoking guns were there and Billy and Bart Gunn got out of their car and I could not believe how big those guys were in real life. I was in the Army, 11B and I was 6'0 170 pounds with about 5% bodyfat and those guys made me fell like a 10 year old kid. It does not show up on TV but man those guys were big.
It's strange they keep saying how huge and what a monster warlord is/was..and no doubt he's a unit..but..other guys like hogan.crush.taker.kane.sid.strowman ALL make warlord look small..lol yet guys like Rude or Billy Gunn were not really thought of as "big "guys..yet they are just as big..maybe not as thick..but they are just as tall or ripped and we'll bulit..perception is a strange thing..lol
@@RJ-is9ko : It happens I guess the tendons in the wrist. Now I was never a good arm wrestler ever but my best bench press was 370 lbs - clean. Despite that I still struggled at arm wrestling go figure and my bicepts measured 18 inches at my best in body building another lifetime ago.
Very cool! It would be cool to see one of these legends show up at an Armwrestling tournament...say March 12th at the Bobbing Bobber Brewery in Hutchinson MN. #NBK Productions. 👍
Arm wrestling is more about technique than strength. So not surprised, 99% of the time someone who weighs 140 pounds & knows the ins & outs of arm wrestling will beat someone much stronger & 100 pounds heavier who simply thinks you go left or right.

@@zombiefulci3301 they might have looked that way but close up they were quite big and strength toned. but they were long which gave the illusion of a skinnier leg.
@@zombiefulci3301 no doubt paul anderson did, and i am not saying rude's legs were huge by any standard. but they were not as spindly as they appeared thats all.
@@kevthegoat8774 When I was in the military I was in the gym working out. I wasn't huge, I was 6 feet tall 170 pounds with about 5% bodyfat. I was pretty strong for my size in the weight room and this guy working there challenged me to an arm wrestling match. He was about 5'7 140 pounds and I figured it was a joke. He insisted and I figured why not. This dude beat me in less than 2 seconds. He was so explosive off the start, locking his shoulder into place twisting the wrist and driving. He could bench or curl half of what I could do but he could kick my ass all day arm wrestling. Until he taught me proper technique, he could still beat me but it was a much closer contest.

Agreed. Lord has the eyes of a man who has smiled alot in his days.
Physical health and mental health are undeniably linked
I can see him beating Rude in arm wrestling. The Warlord was an absolute monster.
He won because he also had been a active arm wrestler
Can never forget the Warlord, dude was incredibly massive at his prime, good lord!

Scott Armstrong was the best armwrestler wow 👌 amazing 👏 facts!
@@georgevarughese4886 Scott Norton
It depends where they arm wrestling though and if they sat down of course Warlord will have the advantage.

Rick and Heenan at the gym.

Rick would have destroyed the warrior in between workouts. He was a professional about it. Warrior was getting the big push.
He was also benching 405...for reps.
@@princeekeson12 who was?
Rick had the strongest hands in the business . Super strong with a muscle bound slender quick moving build.
And Rick Rude was fast and good agility
Warlord was an absolute beast
What a monster. First time hearing him speak, thanks for the upload
Warlord always had the craziest physique.
Dev the whole interview was awesome! Hopefully you will bring him back. Take care and stay warm 🥵!
Warlord is a funny name for a guy who seems pretty cool 😎
Rick Rude was my favorite wrestler as a kid!!!💪🏽💯
The Goon and Berserker would have been a great Royal Rumble PPV Countout match.
Rick was one in a million never see his like again oh yeah Scott Norton was a beast
The Warlord was a monster in the ring and every capable except in one aspect... He couldn't do interviews and thus always needed a manager.
I remember seeing Rick (as Rick Rood) arm.wrestling on CBS around 1980. When I saw him several years later wrestling I knew it was him.
Where can we find a video on RUclips?

@@Bellthorian Those are such special memories, seeing the guys outside the arena.
It’s nuts, even the small guys are big. Rick Rude & Shawn Michaels would be in the heavyweight division if they were pro boxers.

Rude clearly had to do some major chest shaving
What do ya expect the guy could bench press 600 lbs !
Larry wheels still cant arm wrestle.

Means absolutely nothing when it comes to arm wrestling.
@@TRIIGGAVELLI : I tend to agree.
Damn would liked to seen warlord compete back then.
love you're shoots hannibal
Really great story that I’d never heard before.
Superstar Billy Graham was an excellent arm wrestling back in 1971 and before even. Would take on all challengers in Mike Labelle's AWA.
I guess its not surprising he beat Rude. He was significantly bigger
I never once remember hearing Warlord on the mic in WWF. I guess his Minnesota accent would have broken kayfabe!
He talked all the time.

Hannibal looks almost identical to Dana White! It can't just be the bald head... Right?
There's a video of Warlard benching 500 lbs for about 18 reps.
🤣 you really believe that was 500? 🤣
🤘🍻🤘
As I kid I thought Bobby Rhode was his son 😂
Warlord's? Hannibal's?
@@terminat1 Rick rude 😂
Yea Rick Rood was great , Body , Looks and Steriods = Dead in his mid 40's
He killed himself via overdose after a bad issues related to his penis according to reports.

Rick Ride skipped leg day but Warlord never did
rick rude legs were long but powerful and toned, well within proportion to his upper body and height.

More like 100 pounds
Yea but technique is far more important than size.
