Throwing this out there… most FPS players are going to play plugged in and the wireless latency isn’t going to really matter. The paddles and trigger stops are vital for a lot of FPS players
Anyone who uses the controller wirelessly on a tv will probably not care about the miniscule difference in latency. Buy the elite v2 if you like the standard controller but would prefer stiffer thumb sticks, trigger stops, internal battery and rear paddles.
I switched to this controller when I went to PC from using Scuf’s on PS4. I could never go back to not having paddles, and I like the Elite 2 more than the Impact or Infinity Scuf’s that I used
I prefer the standard Series controllers and genuinely think they are some of the finest controllers ever made. If Microsoft can add haptic feedback and a speaker then it'll be truly extraordinary.
Not a huge fan of the haptic feedback. And the speaker is unnecessary., headphones take care of that ;). But I do enjoy the series x controller overall.
@@ThreeFirstNames after using the PS5 controller I really like the haptics. Not so much the analogue triggers, though. Not a fan of playing with headphones and they don't achieve that immersion that the combination of sound system and sounds coming from the controller do.
Xbox does impulse triggers so there really isn't a need for that feature at all. The mic also is an interesting idea but I'd never use it that's what the hyperxs are for plus it would just add in faster battery loss because it's on half the time :/
exact same controller except the core has none of the extra paddles and case and stuff, however it still has the slots to hold them so you can buy them separately in the future if you want.
I'm an absolute input lag snob, but the difference in wireless latency between the Elite 2 and Series X/S looks to be about 1.4ms (at least on PC), which really doesn't matter at all. That's about 1/12 of a frame on a typical 60Hz display, and it's less than 1/4 of a frame on my 165Hz PC monitor. It's the kind of thing that can't possibly affect somebody's reaction time (on its own at least), even for the most competitive gamer. The more casual gamer won't care up to 30-40ms of lag, never mind 1.4ms.
“I recommend using the Xbox Series X controller for CoD.” That comment right there is debatable. People would rather have the extra button mapping for faster response then having less latency.

I bought the Elite 2 to play FIFA, I would say its bit heavy compared to xbox series X standard ones. I only play fifa so all those customisation options isnt for me, So I decided to return and opt for standard ones.
The cod example for controller preference I disagree with... The non noticeable difference in latency isn't as important as back paddles for fps... The elite controller is literally made for fast pace fast twitch games lol

I’m not sure this is an issue these days with updates to the controllers and such. But you may find having the paddles will well overcome the very minor input delay if any still.
I agree with him on the dynamic latency input with the Elite series 2. To me it is a bit slower with fps and/or tps given that the controller buttons and thumb sticks are heavier. If you’re playing an rpg or other games besides call of duty for example: Forza Horizon. This is my opinion of owning one and I am returning it because my intended purpose was to get better at fps games.
Would you recommend getting a series X controller over the elite? I had a ps5 controller on PC it just doesn’t want to cooperate at all. The aim assist in games don’t even work

You know they wouldn't be keeping the Elite Series 2 around for 2-3 more years if it wasnt THE BEST controller. It has definitely been revised with the updated hardware and software enhancements and its using USB C.
My understanding is they were supposed to push out an update but never did. I couldn’t find any update information from Xbox stating they did yet. If they didn’t then yes the series x controller is faster than the elite 2 as it has the updated DLI. But that’s part of the trade off IMO.
Depends on what games you play, if you play hardcore shooters and RPGs, buy the elite 2 for pc, I bought a series x controller for pc and the latency was worse than my elite 2.

Would you prefer an Elite controller for fighting games ?? I know it won’t help me or give me an advantage but I want my hands to feel more comfortable while playing. I do like the d pad on the elite. When I play injustice 2 I’ll use it but it is a bit foreign to my hands. Just would need more time to get used to it.
Do not buy elite 2. I had 3 bought at different stores at different times. Last one was bought in October. All have the same issue. The thumb stick tension. The tension makes the thumb stick to get loose in the middle over time. A month or 2. That loose section becomes a huge dead zone. I’m currently gaming with My switch pro controller on pc which kills the elite 2 for aiming. Gonna buy today an Xbox series controller in red. I’ll definitely miss those back paddles. Those were amazing but not at the expensive of poor aiming in fps. Also the material is weird it gets slippery. The first elite was grippier.

Eh probably not. It’s as I tried to explain in the video it’s more of a preference and partially what game you’re playing that will give you the best experience.

personally i need those extra bottons at the back for COD/Warzone. I just can't play it with the normal controller. I really don't see that much latency difference between them that affects me in the game. At the end of the day, it's definitely preference. it's a win either way.
X Y A B need to be adjusted to be more sensitive - i don't have time to double click every button when I'm seconds from getting my ass handed to me the LB and RB sensitivity need to be decreased, i click it once but it registers as a double click - i try to swap to my shotgun and instead i get meds which is basically a death sentence while in combat
In my opinion its not worth it The right bumper went bad after a year and I took very good care of this controller. For the elite price, they ask for us to pay up It is not worth your money.
Don't buy this one. Better keep your money bc this controller has one big prob: The buttons A, B, X, Y, RB and LB. They don't work correct or get broken in a short time. When you do a replacement, you will get a controller with the same issue. This happened to me when I bought one. And the prob ist still up to date.
Bringing this back up. I believe they might tease something in the near future since I’m seeing a lot of the elite 2 on clearance in Walmart. Saw one go for $45 which is insane. I believe they’re trying to sell everything before they release the new iteration of the elite controller
Short answer no. Stay well clear from this controller. It'll suck you in with its functionality, but it's terrible build quality bites you on the arse. Get used to the normal controller and you'll be golden for years to come.
@@Red-ev8ls the Elite 1 was abysmal. Bumpers broke, sticks loosened, grips came off and eventually got stick Drift. Had 2 of those, all of it happened to both. Elite 2 has faired a little better, one of the buttons for the back paddles doesn't work and the right bumper is almost unresponsive, left has started going slightly recently too. Should note that I'm careful with them and put them away every day in the case that comes with. Not sure if they had a new revision for the Elite 2 at some point, but honestly the Elites have been terrible for me.
@@kyus1974 my Elite v2 says otherwise. I've been careful with mine, mapping the sticks to the back paddles to preserve the sticks. Didn't go too hard on the bumpers either. Now here I am with an almost unresponsive RB button and LB feels on the verge to being slightly more unresponsive. On top of all that I haven't dropped it and put it away in its case every time to stop dust getting in the sticks to stop Drift. The RB buttons are terrible ultimately. Still haven't been fixed from the Elite 1. Sticky buttons are also an issue, I had sticky Y button a month after using, but it stopped fortunately after repeated use. The standard controller has better build quality.

My elite 2 has left stick drift, R bumper and A buttons don’t register, and connectivity drops. 🤦🏻♂️ I’ve only had it for 3 months
