I love to run mini excavators!
It's like a toy or a video game.
I hope I can buy one someday. I also hope I can buy some land someday to use it on. 😆
Actually the real toys are the fully functional metal miniatures with real hydraulics operated by remote control. Most of them come in kit form and they cost thousands of dollars and they come in sizes anywhere from the size you can fit in the palm your hand up to weighing several hundred pounds and can lift an adult.
Look up RC excavator, or RC loader, or RC construction equipment.

I never saw the RC excavators. Sounds like fun. I look for projects to do on my E10 just for the fun!

Most modern Backhoes also have a switch between the two patterns.
Many modern Backhoes also have the excavator type of controls that are beside you instead of in front of you.
We won't even talk about the stupid control set up that case has or had.
Many years back I also saw an excavator with three different patterns on a switch.

I started on John Deere backhoe controls when I was young.
Years later I went to work for different companies in the Union where I had to learn cat excavator controls.
Then I worked for a company that I had to go back and try to do John Deere backhoe controls again which took some time to get used to.
Now I'm stuck. If I have levers beside me I automatically do cat controls and if they're in front of me I automatically do John Deere controls. I've heard other people fall into that also. 😖😵
Don't you just love pilot controls over direct hydraulic controls. 😁

Guess my 331 is in SAE. Do you know if that's standard for Bobcat?

There is a valve somewhere to switch it back and forth. There is no standard it’s just whichever you prefer

A lot of backhoes have that switch also. For a while you had to use a wrench underneath the left side fender to switch control patterns. And now they put an electric switch inside the cab to switch over.
We won't even bring up the nightmare of bobcat foot controls on skid steers or the 3-4 lever plus foot pedals operation of a case backhoe.
I absolutely hate case backhoe controls!!!
Also known as piano players, it can really mess up your knuckles. 😟😠😭
There's also a rare third pattern for the two joystick operation on excavators.

Luckily I’ve only run the SAE backhoe pattern. I can’t imagine running the others. Not coordinated enough!
