    I picked up the Duo and the Streamer X. I decided to skip the Rodecaster Pro 2 after buying the original Rodecaster Pro. The Duo was very much what I was looking for! I love the dual PC outputs.

    The RODECaster line is made by RODE witch is an Australian based company (I'm in Melbourne, Australia) Why is it $1,000- in Australia and only $699- in the USA......Feeling ripped of

    Hi Mike the Mic ports on the Rodecaster Pro don't work with Virtual DJ shame as it's very good otherwise.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  11 месяцев назад

      Hi! That's unfortunate to hear but keep in mind that the RODECaster Pro is primarily designed for podcasting and live streaming applications rather than DJing.

    I like the Duo, but I don't wanna invest in another rode product. I mean I already have purchased the Rodecaster Pro 1 and 2 as well as both of their boom arms and headsets. But the duo would look nice on my desk. Hmmmm

    But can’t you connect an external mixer to the procaster duo so if you’re musician you can add more mics or for example a epiano?

    Another big difference you missed in this summary between is the missing physical record button. Also still has the terrible power button on the back - wish they would add a power OFF feature in firmware via touch screen! TRRS is great, they should not have removed from Pro-2. Lacking microphone stand mount (VESA only on the DUO), strange the heavier Pro 2 has one and they removed for on the lighter DUO? Price point too high for me to get one as a travel unit. If I catch one on sale someday for 50% off, I'll consider.

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  11 месяцев назад

      Thanks for sharing your insights! It's unfortunate that some features like the physical record button is missing. Also, the differences between the TRRS and microphone stand mount choices between models can be puzzling. Price considerations are valid too. Hopefully, you'll find a great deal in the future that makes it more accessible for your needs.

      I own the RodeCaster Pro 2 and love it BTW. If I did not already own one, I'd be a buyer of the Duo as a Windows computer interface. If I catch one on sale one day, I may buy a DUO for my voiceover recording booth. @@MikeRussell

    I’m curious if ppl are finding headphone monitoring latency with the duo?

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  8 месяцев назад +1

      Headphone monitoring latency with the RODECaster Duo has been reported to be minimal and not a significant issue for most users. However, as an old radio guy, I often notice small latency.

    I have an iRig Pre 2, that allows me to connect an XLR mic to a phone (via TRRS) while direct monitoring. I wonder if using this with the TRRS port on the Duo will allow for a 3rd XLR mic with direct monitoring.

    • @MikeRussell

      Still only one XLR input on the iRig Pre 2. You can use two XLR mics with direct monitoring using the Rodecaster Duo's inputs the TRRS input may also add that functionality but it's not something I tested myself.
