Now I was debating on making a video talking about Aang's strength in comparison to the other avatars and hey he isn’t as strong as you may believe. But I feel like instead of getting jumped in the comments, I figured why not discuss Aang's strength over the course of the series that way everyone has an idea of where I think he’s at. Before talking about his stats I'd like to talk about the abilities Aang has access to since that’s probably the most interesting part in Avatar to look at. Aang we know is a master of all 4 elements but his preferred element is wind, which gives him access to a lot of mobility and range which he mainly uses defensively. As we know Aang is a pacifist so he doesn't usually use crazy air techniques like removing oxygen. The other 3 elements all have their own unique uses but I'll only mention how Aang uses them just so it doesn't get confusing. Firstly, we’ll start with Water Bending which he learns first. He mainly utilizes it for ranged attacks but the difference between this and air bending was not only the amount of things you can create with water, but also the ability of ice bending. Aang really just had water blasts, shields and whiplashes and wasn't ALL THAT creative with it, the most we got was that one scene from Book 1. As for earth bending, we know obviously you can use it offensively by throwing rocks or manipulating the earth to get the edge over your opponent, but Aang's mainly preferred method is making barricades and preventing attacks from doing lasting damage to him. He also does have the seismic sense and by far the coldest use of it And lastly, we have fire bending, the element aang doesn't like using. Even after overcoming his fear of hurting someone close to him again, he doesn't like relying on it. Luckily though, because of his knowledge of fire bending, he can deflect lightning. Avatar is set in a largely Asiatic-inspired world in which some people can telekinetically manipulate one of the four elements water, earth, fire or air through practices known as "bending", inspired by Chinese martial arts. The only individual who can bend all four elements, the "Avatar", is responsible for maintaining harmony among the world's four nations, and serves as the link between the physical world and the spirit world. The series is centered around the journey of twelve-year-old Aang, the current Avatar and last survivor of his nation, the Air Nomads, along with his friends Katara, Sokka, and Toph, as they strive to end the Fire Nation's war against the other nations and defeat Fire Lord Ozai before he conquers the world. It also follows the story of Zuko-the exiled prince of the Fire Nation, seeking to restore his lost honor by capturing Aang, accompanied by his uncle Iroh and later, his sister Azula. Shortly afterward, Fire Lord Sozin, the ruler of the Fire Nation, launched a world war to expand his nation's empire. Knowing that the Avatar must be an Air Nomad, he carried out a genocide against the Air Nomads, which he timed with the arrival of a comet that gives firebenders tremendous power. A hundred years later, siblings Katara and Sokka, teenagers of the Southern Water Tribe, accidentally discover Aang and revive him. In the first season, Aang travels with Katara and Sokka to the Northern Water Tribe so he can learn waterbending and be prepared to defeat the Fire Nation. Prince Zuko, the banished son of the current Fire Lord Ozai, pursues them, accompanied by his uncle Iroh, hoping to capture the Avatar in order to restore his honor. Aang is also pursued by Zhao, a Fire Nation admiral aspiring to win Ozai's favor. When his navy attacks the Northern Water Tribe, Zhao kills the moon spirit; Yue, the princess of the tribe, sacrifices her life to revive it, and Aang drives off the enemy fleet. In the second season, Aang learns earthbending from Toph Beifong, a blind twelve-year-old earthbending prodigy. Zuko and Iroh, now fugitives from the Fire Lord, become refugees in the Earth Kingdom, eventually settling in its capital Ba Sing Se. Both groups are pursued by Azula, Zuko's younger sister and a firebending prodigy. Aang's group travels to Ba Sing Se to seek the Earth King's support for an attack on the Fire Nation timed to an upcoming solar eclipse, during which firebenders will be powerless. Azula instigates a coup d'état, bringing the capital under Fire Nation control, and Zuko sides with his sister. Aang is fatally wounded by Azula, but he is revived by Katara. When Sozin's comet returns, Aang confronts Ozai and uses his Avatar powers to strip Ozai of his firebending ability; meanwhile, Aang's friends liberate Ba Sing Se, destroy the Fire Nation airship fleet, and capture Azula. Zuko is crowned the new Fire Lord and the war comes to an end.

Some others have mentioned this, but I think this video could have used a preface that all of these are taken from Aang's time in the show at 12 years old. He is by far the fastest learner, the first avatar in many years to get energy bending, lightning redirection, and had seismic sense. He was the youngest master of airbending ever, and learned a great deal of all other bending disciplines within a year or less. I'm excited to see what happened later on in his life.
All of that makes him a really skilled fast learner, to be considered the most powerful avatar and you need feats for that nothing aang ever did is above the level a any normal avatar there's literally no avatar that would have trouble with the fire lord
@@LoneWolf-el5oythis comment does miss the point on him being 12 when he fought the Fire Lord, as most Avatars are revealed when they’re 16 and begin their training from there. The video does also seem to prove that during the show while does learn all 4 elements he’s terrible when it comes to utilizing it in battle most likely due to his rushed training.
I will say that all the feats Aang has is only really when he’s 12 it does definitely does put him further down the list since we don’t know what his adult self was capable of aside from vague statements in Legend of Korea. Since the feats done in the avatar state I wouldn’t count as it’s a composite feat rather than the individual avatar themselves.
@@reflex9238 It doesn’t really miss the point at all, just stricter with scaling. All Avatars are not equal and we can only scale them based on their feats. While Aang getting stronger after the end of the series is a very reasonable assumption to make, it’s still an assumption. Without statements or showings for Adult Aang, we can only scale him to his 12 year old self. Even the argument that he did X, Y and Z by 12 doesn’t really help since growth is not linear.
Example, Katara grew immensely in the last few episodes of Book 1 where she went from “a waterbender” to “a waterbending master” that Pakku was gassing up like Jesus himself but basically hits a plateau after that without actually growing much in terms of strength, her power being dependent on how much water she has available at the time. A few weeks of tutelage made her a top tier in ATLA but she caps once she achieves her potential.

Aang definitely the strongest avatar if we compare all them at 12😅💯.. Honestly its why i cant wait for the avatar movie so we can fully see an adult aang.
Roku has the craziest Water bending feat(not bloodbending) & Kyoshi has the best earth ending feat. Either one of them I would say are the strongest on a base lvl from the points in life we observed of them..

Im already cool with Korra being stronger than Aang (Unlike some Anntards) but damm fanboys gonna be in full denial mode with this one lol. Tbf about how Aang tho. He didn't have much training for fire n still needs work on earth while all other Avatars got a chance to train their bending throughout their lives. Adult Aang could be interesting if he trains his other bending more n face tougher foes (Especially the villain thats gonna be voiced by fucking Dave Bautista). Not saying Adult Aang would claim the title of strongest Avatar cuz I still think Korra outpaced him, but I don't want to call him the weakest Avatar yet tho
Bro the plot is about him being the weakest so he is learning from his past lives.
@@sarthakarora3212 Ik, just explained how Kid Aang still had to grow n learn other elements in a fast manor compared to other Avatars. However the past Avatars didn't really help much for Aang. Roku mostly helped Aang until the end of Book 3, but the plot was mostly about Aang cleaning up Roku's mess. Plus the other Avatars either didn't give him the best advice or Kyoshi just pull up n basically got Aang in trouble back in the Avatar Day episode.
Facts, Aang always had incredible potential if he wanted to be dangerous but his pacifist nature as a monk always held him back. Korra is objectively stronger no matter what the Aang biased morons say. I love Aang as much as the next person but I can't argue with facts.
We NEED Aang vs. Korra video.
Love the avatar vids❤
It really is hard to scale aang just due to the fact we havn’t really seen him in his prime. Bro speedran his bending learning having less than a year to learn the other 3 bending styles. The most we saw from prime aang is when he broke out of the bloodbending of somebody who was powerful enough to do it during the day but he also used the avatar state to do it
So your saying in terms of feats he's not the strongest got it
i mean true but we also have to note that aang is a monk and belives in the no kill rule a LOT so maybe hes just holding back the whole team. like one of the only times we really saw him mad which was book 1 after he saw monk gyattso dead he created the crazziest tornado/hurricane + this is him as a child so maybe he did some other crazy stuff as an adult
Yeah Kioshi is def stronger than Aang, mostly for the fact that she was a lot more of a warrior so she got a lot more proficient with bending for combat.
Korra is nowhere near Aang though, simply because the amp she gets for her avatar state seems to be minuscule in comparison, so even if she does match or ever surpass Aang in base, she can't compete in the avatar state.
We'll Korra did stop that spirit Canon which is the best power feat from any avatar
And she defeated the most powerful adversary of any avatar
Nothing aang did was above the level of your average avatar
You still have a lot to learn about the avatar state because there a levels to it you can get a simple power boost like we've seen Roku, Korra, and end of season aang use you simple confuse this form for Korra's full avatar state
@@LoneWolf-el5oy If you’re talking about the giant blue form, than Aang should be able to do that too if required. We’ve seen his spirit form even, it’s purple.
As for the spirit cannon, she’s using energy bending for that, and since Aang taught her everything she knows about energy bending at the end of season 1 (and is a much more spiritually minded person), there’s no reason to assume Aang wouldn’t be able to perform this feat as well.
But even if he can’t, it’s not like they’re gonna use energy bending against each other, it’s not particularly useful in a fast paced fight.
@@aguywithalotofopinions412 aang didn't teach Korra everything about energy bending bruh he literally did it once and he's dead now he brought nothing new to the table keep the bs down a notch
Korra learnt alot from unaloq, zaheer, tenzin ,ravaa, even Toph and passed through alot of spiritual growth to get to that level and you want to give all the credit to aang this is a whole new level of bs
You can complain all you want but Korra still ended up as the most knowledgeable and spiritual avatar till date and actually has the feats to prove it so at the end of the day even in her twenties she's more spiritual than aang
That blue spirit stuff aang should be able to pull it off just not when he's a kid and there's no guarantee it'll be as powerful as Korra's
@@LoneWolf-el5oy 1-Chill the f out
2-Are we still powerscaling or just comparing them as people now? Because
3-Let’s assume that Korra is outright a better energy bender than Aang, which I’m not necessarily denying, she definitely is more in contact with the spirits simply because she’s in their direct presence a lot more (which doesn’t mean she’s a more spiritual person but that’s neither here nor there). Energy bending isn’t going to be relevant in a fight like this unless one can subdue the other long enough to take their bending away, which I don’t see happening.
4-No there’s no guarantee that Aang’s spirit form is more powerful than Korra’s, but in their base Avatar states Aang’s boost is significantly higher than Korra’s, so it stands to reason that the same would be true for their spiritual forms.
@@aguywithalotofopinions412 you make a good point on number 3 finally
I personally believe spirit or energy bending will be irrelevant in this fight
Now you're loosing me again everything aang did was in normal avatar parameters unless you're talking about a weird comic stuff which I haven't read
Korra stalemated a dark avatar vs aang beat the fire lord
Proves aangs avatar state is stronger??
Aangs best and most iconic feat was creating the element sphere
You know the funny thing about that Korra created bare minimum 5x bigger sphere to trap vatuu with significantly more water and earth all while flying and resisting the full strength of vatuu
At this point I'm willing to bet you don't know aang was amped by the comet 70% of so called avatar fans don't know this simple fact and besides all this and Korra still created one of the best fire bending feat while being crushed by unavatuu under 100 of feat of ice Korra created a flame so large it melted the ice and continued several feats upward the shear diameter of that blast is unmatched
Just because everyone in ATLa pulls a zaheer and runs from the AS doesn't make aang more powerful I bet the only time Korra seemed strong to you was when fighting zaheer
Even if aang is powerful there simply wasn't enough screen time to show it so I can never understand why aang is so powerful to you
I recall someone telling me about some moving islands statement in regards to either Avatar or Korra. Ring any bells? I want to know how high the blatant feats for the seires puts the verse at so I can compare it to others.
Avatar is conceptual. The creator level. Aka god.

Obviously a high ball but iron describes lightning bending as it’s energy and more detail so if u use lightning’s fastest speed plus the multiplayer from aangs osai feat he is about light speed. A high ball
sorry, but i see a lot of things missed in this video.
A. didn't Aang temporarily raise a portion of the sea in Book 3, not even in the State? he used it for a temporary boost after fighting Ozai, but when he does bend the water, it's in his base form.
B. Also, Aang's comic feats put him far over Roku and Korra, in my opinion. Roku doesn't have many feats noted, so it's hard to say he could possibly scale above Aang in any form other than experience. Aang's comic feats include one - shot K.O'ing a warrior spirit (General Old Iron), the town - level feat you already mentioned, and having instant mastery over the State. I rly don't think you're giving Aang the credit he needs regarding his strength with water, and his strength with earth is easily second to no - one but Kyoshi. he bent stone pillars the size of buildings easily in the State.
C. Aang having instant mastery over energy should be a feat considered more.
D. The thing is, you're saying that all of these Avatars scale above Aang, but you aren't giving us THEIR feats, just Aang's and why you consider them inferior to other Avatars. expanding more on the other Avatars a bit could've cleared things up.
E. Aang clears Korra, and I'm saying this as both an ATLA and TLOK (i love TLOK, criminally underrated) fan. I'd take past lives over prime Raava any day, and I don't know why people think Korra scales above Aang in strength, the only reason i see for that is her physique. Aang's got far more strength feats, such as Lu Dao, the earth pillars, and General Old Iron.
all in all, you definitely know your Avatar lore and scaling knowledge, but you definitely underestimated Aang. please don't take me for a fanboy, I just really see that potential in him already. great video, tho.
E. Objectively Korra is stronger the Creators of the Show have outright said as much.
Aang faced weaker villains imo and yakone was able to defeat his crew with ease also him until using the avatar state
6:36 yk it’s different
Korra only scales higher at her peak during season 2 bc she was Carry by raava

Yeah there’s no way the lightning moves as fast as real lightning otherwise seismic sense, which relies on the speed of sound through the ground. Would be absolutely useless in the series cos lightning is faster than the fastest sound can travel underground. Aang didn’t merge with the moon spirit, it was the ocean spirit so he could scale the kinetic energy of the oceans. Zhao doesn’t scale to the moon spirit, he killed their mortal form. Aang has a lot better feats that were missed out like him freezing the iceberg to subzero temperatures.
The way Iroh describes lightning bending and how its shown visually makes it no different to irl lightning. And even then, Aang should scale to Iroh redirecting natural lightning in book one.
The ocean spirit is equal to the moon.
And aang freezing the iceberg doesn't really scale him any higher.
@@BATMAN-pp6wz still not understanding the point. Lightning in avatar can’t be as fast as lightning irl because all lightning timing characters can be beaten with seismic sense which depends on sound travelling thru the ground which is exponentially slower than lightning. If these characters r similar to speed in lightning then they’d travel faster than the sound thru the ground and seismic sense would be useless. No it isn’t, they weren’t stated anywhere. The ocean and moon don’t have the same level of power. I think it would.
@@FahimusAlimus That's problem with Fiction in itself than Avatar specifically. Example being speedster that are faster than light having conversations even though they shouldn't be able to hear their own sounds, yet writers ignore this issue due to convenience.
Yes they are, Tui and La are the balance between the two forces. Heck they visually represent yin and yang, which is all about balance.
OK, where does Aang freezing himself scale to?
@@BATMAN-pp6wz no it isn’t and that’s been explained a long time ago lol. Speedsters have auras that allow them to do things normally. That’s like asking, why don’t they just die at those high speeds? It’s been stated that they literally have a bubble of accelerated space time around them. That’s how they talk and do everything normal at super speed. It’s just a matter of u not knowing enough about them. No they don’t, they dealt with it pretty well. It’s been addressed in several comics and readers will bring it up because they’ll notice it. In avatar, I’m the only one who ever made this criticism. Watchers don’t even realise it. Logical contradictions can’t exist, even in fiction. Either they are as fast as lightning and so massively faster than sound waves that travel thru the ground making seismic sense unusable even tho it clearly is, or the lightning is just slower than sound travelling thru the ground and so much slower than real life. U can’t have both, they’re contradictory and if u wanna accept that then I guess the characters can be both faster than lightning and slower than sound at the same time despite it making no sense whatsoever. No they aren’t, nowhere r they stated to be equal. Stop making up nonsense. The fish did yes but that’s their mortal forms, the moon and the ocean don’t. I’ll have to calculate it cos no one else has.
@@FahimusAlimus I'm not talking about Speedsters in DC, I'm talking about Speedsters in general. Most of them despite showing ridiculous feats like running across the universe do not have these explanations as to how they can talk or even see during this. Book 1 is Korra facing two of the best waterbenders ever and an army of Ty Lees, Book 2 is an evil Avatar while she clowns everything else, Book 3 is a group of benders that could all 1v1 any bender in the world and still dominate or press the best benders in the world after a dozen years in captivity meant to specifically nerf them, and Book 4 is one of the most skilled earthbenders ever piloting a giant mech that can tank Korra’s bending while she is recovering from PTSD and years of poisoning.
@@ReesemikeHe literally said "you didn't just heal me" to Katara. Azula killed him, don't twist the show's narrative
Korra and wan sucks what good bending feats did Korra aside from the blocking the mech beams which is energy bending which aang gave to her bro stop talking shit
.... beating Satan.
Lmao cry harder
Damn, bro really crying over a YT video lmfao.
Man really said Wan sucks when he invented the Dancing Dragon style by looking at a dragon, literally the best firebending style in the past 10,000 years even with all the wars and conflicts that push forward innovation for bending styles, mastered all four elements in the span of 2 years or so without any actual masters to teach him and just by observation, could fly in base with Airbending unlike Aang’s time where they needed gliders to do so, created a way to seal Vaatu and the Spirit Portals within minutes of becoming the Avatar etc.
Dude … Aang was literally gifted energybending by the Lion Turtle. That’s literally not a feat of skill or power for Aang at all. As for Korra, how about Aang can’t metal bend while she can and learned to do so within minutes? Or how she could bend 3 elements as a 4 year old? Mastered her Avatar State without even trying to train or unlock it?
Aang’s a goat but hop off his meat for half a second and experience reality.
Strongest avatar would be Korra.
