Song is about Armin Meiwes, a German man who was arrested and convicted of cannibalism. I find it interesting that of all the true crime murderers that have had songs written about them, he's the only one still alive to hear them.
Oh it's about an actual person? I thought it was a kind of satyre for the phrase "you are what you eat." Wow 😲 ... He's still alive too.

They don’t talk to the audience, except one song where we sing in turn, as Till (lead singer) has stage fright. He hides behind the “characters” he becomes. At the end of the concert, in the language of where they are, Till says “thank you, that was Rammstein.” Then they get down on one knee & bows. I cried. So many emotions in 1 concert & it doesn’t matter that you don’t speak German, I memorised it in English but for some reason I can sing in German lol! The tickets are so cheap considering what you get & I’ve seen them a few times now. Awesome! ❤ xx
Rammstein is definitely one of the greatest bands of all time. The art at every level is top notch.
Possibly the most interesting thing about the band is that Till (the vocalist and lyricist) describes the songs they make as "love songs"
A Rammstein concert is worth every penny.

The confetti was probably fire retardant and all the foam shooting out of the giant penis made it even more safe to have your face broiled off. I never felt as though I was in danger. Great show, 10/10 do again.

yeeee rammsteins stage performance is just absolutely bonkers :D dont know about internationally, but here in germany they are just as well known for their pyrotechnics as they are known for their music. This song is about cannibalism btw
I was at a Rammstien concert years ago, and was towards the back and I could feel the heat from the fire. I can't imagine being up close in the pit. It was also the most fun I've ever had at a concert. They had a giant d**k cannon firing confetti sp**m into the crowd, it was insane.
The “sperm” starts out as foam & soaked us in the pit & then the confetti came & got stuck to us lol! It was extremely hot so the foam felt great lol! I went home covered in soot, sweat & white confetti. Best concerts ever & I’ve seen many awesome bands in my 55 years of life. They’re touring right now but I’ve missed them this year.
He used the three different sized ones this year as well in Montreal the towers around audience went off with huge fireballs at same time. Absolutely incredible check out some songs from this year's past tour. Mind blowing. Best live performances on the planet. Hands down
I hate telling everyone who watches this version that it got stepped up a notch. That was a show, right? And the.. Can't spoil it, videos shall ensue.
They filmed all three nights in Mexico City. I read recently they had also filmed in Vienna in 2019.
They obviously put the tour on hiatus and write Zeit in the interim.👍🔥

Normally im not into heavy metal stuff but Rammstein is in another league and there are so much more to their style. Awesome band.
The approach taken by the band is that they know their fans work hard to pay for their tickets to see them, so it's the band's job to work hard to make sure that it's money well spent. There are no half measures with these guys. They're an experience like no other. Meiwes and Brandes were both very troubled individuals, the homicidal and the suicidal. One wanted to kill, the other wanted to die. It was a peculiar way to go about it though, I have to say. Meiwes is now a vegetarian by all accounts. Outstanding performance from the band as always and a great reaction.
Saw them in Minneapolis this last August, their new stage show is even bigger than this one. I don't know if you caught that he switched to a bigger flamethrower. In the new performance he switches from a small flamethrower to a bigger one, and then switches to a flame cannon all the way across the stage. Front row to Rammstein is called the feuerzone. I was on the floor but didn't have access to the feuerzone. They added even more fire to their shows. The lead singer is a licensed pyrotechnician.
I saw them live in Chicago in September. It was a totally amazing experience. The fact that you're truly enjoying the music for what it is, no matter the language, shows that you respect an artist for all that they offer. Your content is great man. To add more context behind the song and performance, the song was written about this famous case in Germany where a cannibal had met up with another man who gave consent to being eaten, and supposedly before the killing the pair shared a meal together consisting of the penis of the man being eaten. "Mein Teil" means "my part", German slang meaning "my penis". Often they like to incorporate the themes of their songs into their performances like they do here
It has been mentioned several times in many comment sections, but maybe not here: If you buy a ticket for the first few rows directly in front of the stage, your ticket says, you're in the "Feuerzonze" which translates to fire zone... and you renounce of any compensation if you suffer an minor burns.
Went to 2 concerts from them, in 2009 or 2010, their return in North America in Québec City and the Stadium tour in Montréal in 2022. The Stadium tour has this song, but with way bigger flamethrower, I mean, WAY BIGGER! It is amazing! The concert lasted over 2 hours and everything was on point. Would go back for sure, but with FeuerZone tickets to be closer to the stage.

I paid extra to be in the "fire zone" and my eyebrows grew back. Seriously, you need to experience this live. If you do one thing for yourself, I reccomend this.

Another great live performance is Engel. There are awesome videos from Madison Square Garden and Rock im Park. Amazing visuals from that set, and a super catchy tune that you will catch yourself whistling for days afterward.
I love the keyboardist so much. Just a little skinny dude in shades and a sparkly jacket in the midst of all the chaos.

At some concerts they sold T-shirts with the inscription "I survived a Rammstein concert in the front row".
funny thing is they've upgraded this act since 2013 and now they also have an actual flame throwing canon(!) that shoots flames of about 20ft
Don't worry about front rows, it's just the same feeling as opening a hot oven to put the turkey in 🤪 Been there, done that, now next year I'm taking by teen kids to the FEUERZONE 😅 BTW, during last concert it was raining a lot, yet I left the stadium being completely dry 😆

so.. Mein Teil this is the song that persuaded me that Rammstein Live is literally a once in a lifetime experience. (as in you should see them AT LEAST once in a lifetime)

Mein teil (translates as "my part") is about the curious case of Armin Meiwes, aka the Rotenburg Cannibal / Der Metzgermeister (the master butcher). (you can look all this up on wikipedia) but the song is written from the perspective of the victim.

I was down front at the show in Montreal and had the best time. You could feel the heat - it was like being flash cooked - but man, was it ever a blast. Literally, a total blast. Best. Show. Ever.

The fun thing is that they actually take this one step further now (or at least at the show I was at during the summer here) now he actually brings out what looks like a flak cannon that shoots out flames for the finishing part instead of a "regular" flamethrower. :P

Nowadays is even better, after the big flamethrower, a big fucking canyon rises from the floor and shoots the pot with it, that flame was stupidly huge.

Awesome fucking band. And you're right, it sucks not understanding the lyrics, but you can always look them up. Years ago, I studied in France. And in the dorms there was always a communal kitchen. And every night, this girl from Senegal would put on her Walkman and belt out Whitney Houston tunes as she cooked dinner. And holy shit, she fucked the lyrics up but good. Still, you could really tell she was getting everything out of those songs, whether she understood the lyrics or not. It was pretty fucking beautiful.

I have read two books by Flake Lorenz the sythesizer. They can have these extravagant peformances because they put their own money in it.

Man... Watching the whole Lil Dicky playlist and he has an album called I'm brain ( where he is his brain collaboration with himself). On smash (the end of this is a warning of not RUclips appropriate language prolly), brainstorm, whippin it up and cocaine are a good start. He's genius.
