@@Homestudiosimplifed Hmm, a 'Bandlab Assistant' option shows up under utilities, but clicking it does not seem to do anything. Oh well, I guess you probably have Melodyne installed from a previous paid version of Sonar? It looks like an interesting tool, but I'm not ready to pay $699 for the official version. C'est la vie....
Hi Robert!, very clear thanks a lot !! by the way , I'm trying to configure Rewire to talk midi between Cakewalk (host) and Notion 6 (slave) on Windows 10 64bits; but it only takes the score generated by Notion 6 as audio. I can't get it to convert into midi. Do you have any idea if it can be done? I appreciate your time and consideration in this matter . Kind regards!
A Rewire Host can only send MIDI and receive Audio. A Rewire Device(Slave) can only receive MIDI and send Audio. CbB can only work als a Host but not as a Slave, so the only way is to send Midi over a Virtual Midi Cable. That will work! Take a look at LoopBe1 (free; one MIDI port) and LoopBe30 (up to 30 MIDI ports; about US$20). Another option is to try loopMIDI, but I hear stories of noticeable latency on many systems. In Notion or Overture, you would output to a LoopBe MIDI port. In CbB, you would use that port for input to which ever VI you're using. www.nerds.de/en/loopbe30.html
I notice that you are able to grab an audio clip anywhere. I am using the latest version and I can only move a clip by grabbing the track header. A friend of mine who is using it on Windows 10 can't move the audio clips at all.

Oh man, I do miss Waves though. But I found that I was producing on auto-pilot. Using other plugins forces me into understand what Vocal Rider and MixCentric were doing under the hood. Still, the lazy musician in me loved the way those babies made it easy. 😂
I'm all about doing things fast and easy! But, as you've stated, there are times when I force myself to do it the hard way so as to keep the musical juices flowing.

This means the audio from that bus or track will never make it to your audio hardware, so the result will be silence. The VST instruments, do you know if it is possible to play cords (harmonies). I just saw my friends i-phone daw (think it was garageband) He could play cords, just push on the Am, C, or whatever botton...
I do believe that there are some that can do this. Not certain if the VST's included with Cakewalk are capable.
This might help:

@@Homestudiosimplifed Thanks, no reason to waist more time on trying to find it than...
I don't believe u can write chords automatically other than writing the notes in the piano roll. In other words you might as well play them if you have a keyboard handy!
Bro, do yourself the best favor you could EVER do for yourself outside of a Fleshlight which my chic just recently bought me. Did i just say that? HaHa!! But seriously: Learn some basic music theory so that you can VOICE chords in the manner that YOU are hearing them in YOUR head. After you have done this, just set me up a living trust with the name "LifeChanger" and we'll ALMOST be even. HaHa!! Take care, Jon.
@@TiteTrax I know a lot of basic music theory. Now I trying tying to learn digital basic theory.
Take care David!
I don't expect you to answer this but my midi file has a fade out ending...how can I erase the fadeout ending please ????????
There should be a small triangle at the top right edge when you hover over it that will allow you to drag the fade out to the right and essentially eliminate it.
what's up buddy? is it possible to use a "reverse audio" option? how to do this? for audio inveter backwards
Jonathan Henrique hey man! There is an option for this! You simply select the portion of audio you’d like to reverse and at the top menu select the process audio effects “reverse”
I may go back to using cakewalk now that I have a MIDI keyboard on the way. My main gripe with it was that piano roll.
Craig Daub Beats to be honest, I only use it for fine tuning.
@@Homestudiosimplifed Yeah from what I hear when it comes to mixing cakewalk is almost unmatched.
Is Melodyne included with Cakewalk by Bandlab?
demofactory the basic version is.
Cool!!! Thanks for letting me know, and thanks thanks for posting. Have a great day friend.
@@demofactory you're very welcome!
Why do I get a message like" unable to create new file for recording when I play back the recordings
I have been getting that lately with the new update. It seems to go away but I honestly am not sure.
THANK YOU! This video helped me with a bunch of dumb Crap I could not figured out
That’s what it’s all about man!
Hi. Is there a setting for the automatic cross fade? Doesn't seem to work for me
I cover it here: ruclips.net/video/7bFDPlPju4c/видео.html
Great tutorial. Cheers
Thanks a lot!!!
How do u undo if u messed up
James Dero there are several ways. You could simply delete the clip and record again, or you could also choose the undo last recording option from the menu up top. (To name a few)
James Dero I sell a course that covers every single aspect of this DAW and I include some support with that as well.

Jerome! My course has been updated an therefore the price has went up. However, use this code until the end of may to get $50 off! N7XQDDVG
I'm looking at a version of Bandlab Cakewalk I downloaded a few weeks ago. When I click on the 'region FX' tab I see 'VocalSync' and 'DrumReplacer' but no 'Melodyne'. Is it possible that I missed something in the download... or they no longer include it? Or perhaps you still have it from some earlier time when it was bundled with Sonar?
Thanks for any tips!
It was bundled in earlier versions. Check your Add-Ons tab on the BandLab Assistant app
@@Homestudiosimplifed Hmm, a 'Bandlab Assistant' option shows up under utilities, but clicking it does not seem to do anything.
Oh well, I guess you probably have Melodyne installed from a previous paid version of Sonar? There are a few sites out there which purport to provide free downloads of Melodyne, but I wouldn't trust them; almost certainly virus carriers.
Great tips, thank you!
electorize no problem! If there's anything else you'd like covered let me know.
@@Homestudiosimplifed appreciate it! Just started with Cakewalk but loving it so far. Top class DAW for free!
Nice Job thanks for the info.
CANNIMAGINE thanks for watching!
I notice that you are able to grab an audio clip anywhere. I am using the latest version and I can only move a clip by grabbing the track header. A friend of mine who is using it on Windows 10 can't move the audio clips at all.
Not sure 🤔 have you tried a full shutdown and restart?
@@Homestudiosimplifed No, but I will suggest he try that right now.
@@Homestudiosimplifed Turns out he accidentally closed the TOOLS Module, and apparently if you close that item the Move function ceases to work.
@@UtwoBed Interesting... thanks for the update!
Really, really, really good tips, man. I divorced Protools last months after 16 years for their draconian security protocols (and my conspiracy theory that iLok, et. al, are fronts for crime syndicates). Cakewalk by Bandlad has a genius business model and it's run by musicians who give a shit about their users and music in general. You answered three of my biggest questions as I get acquainted with my new production spouse in one fell swoop. Thanks for that!
The Book of JJ thanks man! I hear ya! I got rid of Waves for the same reason.
But, as you've stated, there are times when I force myself to do it the hard way so as to keep the musical juices flowing.
worthy video
Arvindraj Gajendran thank you much!
What are you referring to when you say stereo overheads?
Drums will usually always have a pair of mics overhead depending on how they’re recorded.
@@Homestudiosimplifed Oh ok, so its to sync other instruments to the drums.
cakewalk only has a limited amount of undos???
Joey Sanchez yes sir. Like most programs it has its limitations. However, the Mix Recall function can make up for these.
from this page: www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013089/Initialization-Files-Parameters-for-Pro-Audio-and-Professional
by default it should be 128 undos. but you can change it by editing the "cakewalk.ini" file inside "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Cakewalk Core" and add this line below [WinCake]
MaxUndoSteps=n
change n to any number you want.
4:00 I recommend creating a duplicate of the vocal BEFORE you go Melodyning and rendering it JUST IN CASE!!!
I usually save versions of a mix with each major change as the name
@sahil kalla Just pan one track hard right and pan the other track hard left.
Really useful video! Thank You! Is any way to apply grooves as logic or other DAWs have?
Alex Philipp I’m sorry you’ll have to be a little more specific
@@Homestudiosimplifed No problem! I found it under Process tab Groove Quantize. I mean apply grooves like MPC atc to hardly quantized midis.

Was just wondering if anyone know how to correct the snare sound in a midi file. . The snare seem to be triggered 7 or 8 times and really sound annoying .i usually use general midi for my basic drum track. Some files I just can’t use or edit.

How to fix silent buses detected
If you receive a Silent Buses Detected message after loading a project, it is simply indicating that a track or bus in your project currently has its output assigned to None. This means the audio from that bus or track will never make it to your audio hardware, so the result will be silence. Therefore, all you need to do is check the outputs of your bus and make sure that it’s routed to the master or another bus that inside at the master.
