This song is legitimately amazing! It’s catchy, has lyrics that actually are compatible with the fandom it’s representing and doesn’t just rely on autotune and technological music styles (which I have nothing against but most fandom songs seem dependent on this). Definitely going on multiple playlists!
This actually was one of the reasons I want back and watched some batim playthroughs like jackscepticeye and also a reason I love horror stuff so much now. (Even though this game is relatively tame when it comes to horror)
BATIM was like 5 years ago. I'm revisiting nearly every fandom that made my childhood. Kirby, DDLC, Pokemon, Undertale, Sonic and of course Bendy. The music from each fan base has left me completely stunned with nostalgia and its completely epic. Bendy impacted my life so much, I became obsessed with horror. And this masterpiece just expresses the true fate that Joey Drew Studios suffered after Henry got fired/or just retired. Perfect as always Stupendium. I remember when this came out like 3 years ago.
Can we all just take a moment to praise this man's phenomenal American accent? Note: I'm British, so any American viewers feel free to politely contradict this statement should you disagree. Anywho, phenomenal work with consistently entertaining songs and animations. Have a good day!
*"So you are on the path of the starving artist,* *But at the heart, well the art is heartless,* *Ever seen a masterpiece, get discarded,* *Start and depart for the Art of Darkness."* These lines always makes me shiver.
The Stupendium puts his soul into his work, like Joey Drew Studio employees. His songs, animation, and acting are unrealistically cool, I dare say, inky. The perfect masterpiece.
I can't stop replaying it. It's SO GOOD. It's not just a good fansong. It's a good SONG with fantastic visuals. I'm sure I'll be listening to it everyday for a long time now.
Don't replay it too much, eventually you will not like the song anymore. I did that one time with a different song and I did not enjoy listening to it anymore.
Can we talk about the line "so pipe down,", like it means be quiet, but for a game where your main weapon is a pipe, it also means back off and drop arms.
I just love all the sly references to animations slipped through this! “Giving you the WILLIES while I’m stepping off my STEAMBOAT!” And the “Heigh Ho, It’s off to work we go!” And “WALTzer better man than you’ve ever been!” Just so great! I love ever part of this song! Keep up the great work!
Animation references I've caught: - "Rhyming on the multiplane. My lyrics work on several layers." Pretty self-explanatory, especially w/ the visuals. The multiplane camera was used in the early days of traditional animation. - "Heigh ho! Off to work we go!" The dwarves from Disney's Snow White - "Giving you the willies as I'm stepping of my steamboat." Disney's Steamboat Willy short. - "Wurlitzer a shame that your organs & limbs" Not 100% but I think this is a reference to Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, which imported & manufactured musical instruments such as pianos & organs. And particularly Wurlitzer jukeboxes were iconic during the 1920's and the decades after, some including light-up displays featuring rudimentary animation. - "WALTzer a better man than you've ever been." Walt Disney - "So sing a long to the bouncing ball." The Fleischer's "Ko-Ko Song Car-Tunes" created the now iconic bouncing ball animation convention and pioneered animation synced w/ audio in America. It could also be a double reference, as the bouncing ball exercise is a staple of animation, in teaching the principles of animation.
And the start of the video is a remake of the advertisment for Disney Land where you can see Walt talking to us about animation (I'm sorry if my english isn't perfect, I'm Belgian)
I am honestly shocked that the creators of batim hasn’t commented on how inkredible this masterpiece is! From the lyrics to the animating, every part is amazing!
I know this song isn't one of the most recent, but it's truly a masterpiece. The combination of how well the lyrics go with each other and the talent of the singing, it's genuinely one of the best song I've ever listened to. Stupendium, you should be so proud of yourself for making songs as excellent as this.
back here after 5 years and this video is still amazing. It trancends the guise of just being a fan-made song, it is really just a piece of art. glad this masterpiece wasn't discarded! i appreciate all of your hard work! Timeless classic.
You’re underrated... I was just saying how detailed the animations are and how fun your voice is with every character and the tempo of the song and the lyrics!! Like how many people have worked on this!?? Then I checked the description... You are so very talented. Like crazy talented.
You know, this man could’ve just made this *Fantastic* song, and left it at that. But he took the extra time to make this spectacular video to go along with it. *Now that is a beautiful, and positively silly amount of dedication.*
The Bertrand Piedmont lines are so amazing in content and delivery. "Don't you know you gotta be this tall to die" kind of implies that short people never die 😂
Jokes aside, I think “don’t you know you gotta be this tall to die” kinda shows how to kids bendy is innocent and a cute cartoon, and to well, the workers, he’s a deadly killing machine
One thing I've always loved about your videos is the absolute attention to detail and the insane levels of creativity. During Bertram Piedmont's section. "Did you want to be him" when you have your head lean out. Just the amount of frustrations I'd have dealt with in the layering to ensure that my head was above the background layer, before it shifts over to the next part and the head retracts. Your editing skills on top of everything. Simply phenomenal
The quality of these songs are unbelievable they should have so many more views then (257k the time I'm writing this) the lyrics are just perfect. Amazing work.
This is a classic. This is… I think I found this through animation channels a long time ago. I listened to the song, got obsessed, listened to some of your other stuff, lost interest, came back, and now I’m never going again. Stupes, you musical genius is so incredibly good.
This is one of those songs that are truly a masterpiece. Everything about it is phenomenal. The lyrics, the animation, the voices, the transitions and the theme all play in together perfectly. Especially the little details, such as the slow by steady camera movements so where the camera is never completely still. Even at 5:09 where the screen moves in response to being hung by the chains; it's just perfect. Absolute gorgeous work.
I typically loathe fan songs because I never feel like they add anything to a fandom and are just a cheap cash in on what's trending, and I braced myself for cringe.....but this was so wonderfully well made that I forgot it was a fan song. Like the food critic in Ratatouille, I felt exactly like I did when I was a kid listening to this - this was nothing short of incredible.
Felt similarly about Ad Infinitum, my first Stupendium song. Fan songs are 50/50, either really cringe or really good, thought Ad Infinitum would be cringe but damn was I proven wrong! Edit: the “Stumendium originals” playlist is at lol69nice
@@rangefromtblt4047 the second verse starts at 2:30. Notice the quiet music compared to the first verse at 1:30. P. S. using "they" for gender-neutral pronouns helps.
I recognize some of the things Joey was saying in the intro form his own tapes in the game like “dreams, dreams, dreams! They eat it up!” From the projectionist section in chapter 4, and “cheats death itself. Now that is a beautiful… and positively silly thought.” From the demons path room in chapter 3
Hi Stupendium! Amazing job and clever rhymes with this song! You are on point with the classic voice impressions. I love the style of animation. Also, I was thinking about how you did that Bertrum Piedmont makeup on yourself! It’s really cool!
“So your on the path of the starving artist. Well at the heart, well the art is heartless. Ever seen a masterpiece get discarded? Start and depart for the art of darkness” Oh my god, I love those lyrics. I’ve been listening to this for like a month and I’m still blown away by all the perspective in this work. The colors. The style. The pace. The voices!! The lyrics!! Like holy crap, your work is so inspirational and incredible
At first I was looking for the artist of the video because I loved the style, but holy cow, I wasn't expecting one person doing everything! You're amazing!! everything in this video is incredible, thank you for this great music!
*_YES ANOTHER ONE!_* I absolutely loved cells no more and find the key so i’m so happy to find a third in my notifications! All of your bendy songs and all of your songs in general are absolute class! Bloody brilliant! EDIT:HOLY COW I LOVE YOUR JOEY DREW! EDIT 2:HOLY HELL BERTRAM WHY AM I SURPRISED?! YOU WERE SO GOOD AS HIM IN BENDYLAND
I am so glad that I came across The Stupendium. The line "Have you ever seen a masterpiece get discarded?" still sends chills down my spine after a couple dozen listens. Truly stupendous work. Thank you, so much, for such wonderful works in these dark times.
If you thought that demons were your problem right now... Well, the Angel's on the stage so pipe down. If there are secrets that you want to find out... Hop on the Ink Machine and ride those pipes down So you're on the path of the starving artist... But at the heart, well the art is heartless. Ever seen a masterpiece get discarded? Start and depart for the art of darkness. You are so good at making your characters have different voices. The searchers, the Butcher Gang, Bertrum, the chorus singers... All were fantastic. This was very well done.
@@Ash_TheMan It doesn't sound like them. I don't hear any of their individual voices. The only one that sounds similar is striker, but the accent is different.
I can tell he watched the Game Theorist thoery on BATIM, so many clever easter eggs in every lyric its so clever and so well animated this may be my new favourite fan song, plus its so damn catchy
Your Bertrum is by far my favorite part of this. You encapsulate his voice so perfectly, and your makeup? You replicate the lost, souless gaze and distorted fear so well. You're an animator, a singer, a rapper, and for that Bertrum part I would 100% call you an actor too.
The fact that this covers the full game, is amazing itself. But the beat and lyrics add a layer of something that really draws me in. Definately on my top ten stupendium songs!!
Bloody hell! I was lookin through some fan songs of games and stumbled across this masterpiece. You really need more recognition with work like this! Absolutely fantastic!
This guy has been around for 5 years, I have never felt so enlightened about music until I came along this artist. He takes pretty much every role and I have absolutely no idea how he does it, please keep making content, you my good sir, are a masterpiece.
I'm still trying to wrap my head around how you do it. You manage to create unique and catchy songs with incredible visuals, while managing to cram as many references to the source material as possible. It's really impressive stuff.
Wow, that Bertram Piedmont makeup is amazing! Such amazing contrast in every wrinkle, it works perfectly with the art style! That alone must’ve been a lot of work, and that’s before we get to the composition, lyrics, instrumentation, voicing, animations, and editing. Plus the Joey Drew bits were absolutely perfect for the character.
Not only that, but it's an amazing reference/throwback to the Slave in the Magic Mirror, from Snow White, either as represented in the 1956 series Disneyland's episode, "Our Unsung Villains" or as represented in the 1977 episode, “Disney’s Greatest Villains”, of the series, "The Wonderful World of Disney".
I showed my dad the intro just because of how much it reminds me of Walt Disney, ( he tolded me the Disney actual used to introduce his shows when they would come on.) It gave hime the chills honestly. You did such a good job on this. Also props to the steamboat willie reference.
Stupendium, you've out done yourself this is perfect in every single aspect the visuals the chorus is just buetifup the lyrics are on point it's just amazing, so I applaud you.
Noticed two things in the scene with the Lost Ones! 1: “Hey ho! It’s off to work we go!” Is giving me serious Snow White vibes (could be wrong) 2: I don’t know if others know, but if you pay attention to what the Lost Ones are singing about they’re clearly referring to the Butcher Gang in the order they join in the rap.
3:21 Today is the day I fully understood this line. A Helter Skelter is what those lighthouse-slide things at fairs and boardwalks are called. And the slide is a DOWNWARD SPIRAL. The depth of your lyrical genius will never cease to amaze me.
What a masterpiece! It's quite ironic as well because you are a master artist making art about a game that is all about artists exploring corrupted versions of their creations:D I hope your creations never never turn on you like they do in the game itselfO.O 2:51 "There's no need to be scared now." Says the guy in the wheely thing! Seriously though, it looks like you are actually in there:D Chroma keying with some masking to it? And I can understand why this would have taken a year to make, so many layers of graphics design to not only have been drawn, but animated as well. Keep up the amazing work:D
Honestly that beginning portraying Joey Drew’s descent into insanity at the beginning flows so well into the song. Awesome acting. 1:20 Also that transition is genius.
This rap and animation are absolutely amazing...! Seriously! Also: "Boris, don't you worry. I would never let her separate us." "Hold it. Where'd you go? Damn. Guess I'd better go and save him." These lyrics were perfect! Hahahaaa!
@@Ana11037-m If you thought that Demons were your problem right now. Well the angle is on the stage so pipe down. If there secrets that you Want to find out Hop on the ink machine and ride those pipes down.

I'm starving for this artist! No piece of this art is Heartless. And I hope this masterpiece never gets discarded! You are amazing stupendium! One of my favorite content creators in general!
Revisiting this song, it’s really a near masterpiece, it doesn’t even feel like it would be a fan song. The visuals and lyrics are amazing, as well as the chorus. I really can’t explain why exactly I love it so much!
@InkyStory The device on screen is a multiplane camera, specifically the kind developed by Walt Disney studios in the mid-to-late 1930s. There's a video right here on RUclips, "Walt Disney Introduces the Multiplane Camera". _He_ can probably explain it better than I can, but I'll try if you don't want to go looking. All traditional animation is made by painting all the moving parts of a scene, the characters and their body parts, for instance, on clear sheets of celluloid, layering the correct sheets on top of the motionless background to form the correct image, and then taking a picture. Do it over and over again; sooner or later you'll have a finished film. Using the multiplane and other, generally very similar tools, animators basically animate _the background_ too, splitting it up into its own layers beneath the characters and other animated objects. This is usually done to imitate the sort of things you'd see if you were actually on a regular movie set behind a camera: panning across the scene, with things closer to you seeming to move faster than things further away (what they call "parallax"); zooming in and out; even spinning _around_ the "actors". Watch that part of the video again a couple times and you can probably start to understand the principle. We start with a shot of the smashed elevator car, then seem to slide backwards into the library. If we pretend the scene was actually shot on a Disney-style multiplane, we'd probably start with the planes cranked up close to the camera so it can look through the library layers to the elevator car layer. Then, as we take pictures, we move each plane down lower, further from the camera, and maybe also dim the light on the elevator plane a little, to create the illusion of depth. If you're interested, there's a scene in _Snow White_ where the Queen drinks her disguise potion and the room starts spinning. That was shot on a multiplane, probably just like the one shown here, and was accomplished by moving the background and foreground planes _sideways_ in opposite directions.
I love how the different sections of the song all are different enough to be distinct while also perfectly fitting in with the character and the general theme of the game. Also, they are all so well done!
I haven't seen any comments about this yet so I'll make a comment on it. Why hasn't anyone noticed Joey's office? That was literally based off of Walt Disneys office! I thought that was a fun reference. P. S this was an awesome song and I'm still listening to the song. 🙂
@Engineer Mind Try spacing it out with some other songs inbetween, but I should probably try to follow my own advice since I've had his stuff on repeat since I discovered the channel a few days ago 😁

There once was an Angel who swallowed a spider
It wriggled inside her and out came the Striker

So sing along to the bouncing ball
Wave your flags and renounce these halls
You may have been sacked from this pantomime
But a pal of mine wants you recalled
So march along to the count of 4
Astound at the scoundrel crowd you’ve drawn
Left stranded and damned to this mangled form
To abandon us here was an act of war
It’s laughable to think you’ll bring back the norm
We’ve ink, but no malpractice forms
‘But Henry! You never gave a crap before?’
‘Til we trapped you down ‘neath the factory floor

BATIM was like 5 years ago. I'm revisiting nearly every fandom that made my childhood. Kirby, DDLC, Pokemon, Undertale, Sonic and of course Bendy. The music from each fan base has left me completely stunned with nostalgia and its completely epic. Bendy impacted my life so much, I became obsessed with horror. And this masterpiece just expresses the true fate that Joey Drew Studios suffered after Henry got fired/or just retired. Perfect as always Stupendium. I remember when this came out like 3 years ago.

Animation references I've caught:
- "Rhyming on the multiplane. My lyrics work on several layers."
Pretty self-explanatory, especially w/ the visuals. The multiplane camera was used in the early days of traditional animation.
- "Heigh ho! Off to work we go!"
The dwarves from Disney's Snow White
- "Giving you the willies as I'm stepping of my steamboat."
Disney's Steamboat Willy short.
- "Wurlitzer a shame that your organs & limbs"
Not 100% but I think this is a reference to Rudolph Wurlitzer Company, which imported & manufactured musical instruments such as pianos & organs. And particularly Wurlitzer jukeboxes were iconic during the 1920's and the decades after, some including light-up displays featuring rudimentary animation.
- "WALTzer a better man than you've ever been."
Walt Disney
- "So sing a long to the bouncing ball."
The Fleischer's "Ko-Ko Song Car-Tunes" created the now iconic bouncing ball animation convention and pioneered animation synced w/ audio in America.

Revisiting this song, it’s really a near masterpiece, it doesn’t even feel like it would be a fan song. The visuals and lyrics are amazing, as well as the chorus. I really can’t explain why exactly I love it so much!
"rhyming on the multiplane/my lyrics work on several layers"
sghjk i see what you did there stupes
