  • Bromford Tunnel is a 3.5 mile (5.6km) twin-bore high-speed rail tunnel. Two huge tunnel boring machines (TBMs) are being used to dig it between Water Orton in North Warwickshire and Washwood Heath in Birmingham.
TBM Mary Ann is digging the first bore and was launched in August 2023. TBM Elizabeth is digging the second bore and was launched in March 2024. The tunnelling operation is being delivered by around 450 people working around the clock. Each bore will take around 16 months and 1.87 million tonnes of material will be excavated and sifted at the on-site slurry treatment plant to be reused on nearby sites at the Delta Junction.

How come all the video shots of hs2 no one is working, by me no work seems to going on especially at weekends. When we were involved with motorway construction 7am to 7 pm seven day's.

Most sites seem to end at 6pm in the summer and I mean cleared off, the London sites were still working at 7pm. Aylesbury was busy on a Sunday but most are quiet at weekends.

oh ? looks good from across the pond.
I like seeing the HS2 progress from on-the-scene videos and YT.
The management and scheduling must be overwhelming on so many large and distributed HS2 projects.
