Hey Dr. Foor, I've been a fan of yours for a few years. Congratulations on finishing the 14ers! If you're looking for hike next summer, I'd recommend Eagle Mountain - the Minnesota state high point. The views of the boundary waters are amazing, and I'd rate the hike as being as difficult as an easy 14er.
Grew up in Vegas. We did this hike in the early '70's when there were only dirt roads and few people out in Red rocks. One of my all times favorites. The Sierra club used to be very active back then.
Interesting you bring this up Jack. The paint used on some of the rocks for directions is still there. I believe it was done in the 60's. Today it's meetup hikes that are the big thing in Vegas.
I've hiked about 1/3 of the RR trails, mostly easy/mod ones. I was able to do Turtlehead Peak no problem. What special equipment will I need for Bridge Mtn? I mostly fear sliding off the mtn as I'm not a climber so I don't have climbing gear. I carry the basics: reg hiking boots, gloves, camelbak.
If you stay on the standard route from willow springs up rocky gap (as my hike shows), no technical gear is required and the most challenging scrambling is class 3.
Man am I jealous! Froze my buns on Torreys Kelso ridge yesterday, wish it was 75 degrees like there! Charlie Brown Christmas Tree! Yea, I'm 50 this month . . .
Wonderful adventure and beautiful video - your hiking skills are legendary. Are you planning another hike in the area - to summit the chairs facing one-armed bandits?
I did this hike 4 years ago and the best part was that a pilot did a barrel roll in his plane right in between bridge mountain and the other mountains. I was right there at the saddle when he did it and it was relatively close- the plane was roaring above me. A treat only myself and my 2 friends would witness, as we did not see any other hikers all day.
Love your channel and videos. How many snakes have you encountered around Red Rocks and the Vegas area? I saw you hiking where there were rocks and brush on both sides, seemingly perfect cover for rattlesnakes, and you were just walking through. Do you ever worry about them?
La Sportiva Are the best shoes I’ve ever had. Even for every day shoes. More comfortable than any basketball shoe skateboard shoe or hiking shoes. La Sportiva I have the best shoes
And our supreme overlords had to dispatch a chopper to go see if you were keeping their social distancing rules. ....imagine how desperate for power and control they are.

Another great hike Doc! I have to go there. I like desert and sandstone! Not much here in canada! :) Thanks for the inspiration.
You bet Serge! It's what makes Vegas and the desert SW such a beautiful area of the US!

@@FoorTrek There were no painted rocks, trails or cairns in the early '70's and few even knew this place existed.
@@FoorTrek I'm going to Red Rocks in March 2024. How do you find these meet up hikes?

Congrats Karl! Kelso ridge is like the decalibron ridge....it seems like its always cold no matter the month.
Great hike. Any concerns about mountain lions or bob cats while out there on your own? My kind of hike. Thanks for taking us along!
Hi Shelly. There are mountain lions in Red Rock Canyon. I have yet to see one.
Good day Brandon - Any hiking schedule for summer 2021 yet?
Always great adventures. Appreciate
Hi Kirk. One of the things I'm looking at is Loveland Pass to Guanella Pass. Several 13ers along with Gray and Torreys.
Just watched your phantom ranch video so funny 😆 LOL !
Thank you so much! :-)
Just subscribed 😊. Thanks alot for sharing
Thank you Marvin and welcome!
Wow. Amazing hike.
Sure is Donna! :-)
Wonderful adventure and beautiful video - your hiking skills are legendary. Are you planning another hike in the area - to summit the chairs facing one-armed bandits?
I'm out and about a lot in the winter hiking but I don't make a lot of videos! I'll keep an eye on those one armed bandits. :-)
I think I saw the footage from that Helicopter on Facebook or 9gag. There was a clip of a hiker, on top of a mountain in Nevada.
Great video!
Thanks Cole!
Looks incredible!! 🙆🏻♂️ also looks fairly difficult
Great video. Thank you for posting. How many miles is the road part that you walked to the trail?
Thank you! From the start of Rocky Gap to the turnoff up to North Peak it's about 3 miles.
its 14er season doc! any new videos coming out this year?!
Hey CaptCo! Hope you are well! I've posted quite a few of my recent adventures on IG and Twitter. More videos coming soon. :-)
One word... Wow!😲
That how I feel when I'm out there!
Great! What kinda footwear do u use for the sandstone.?
La Sportiva Akyra
How’s rocky gap road? In your opinion would a 4runner make it to the trailhead?
IMO...YES if you go slow in a few required 4wd spots.
No problem in a 4 runner. I do it in my Grand Cherokee Trailhawk.
Do you ever come across any snakes?
It's quite rare actually but I have. Several years ago while going to rainbow wall, I saw a baby rattlesnake.
Incredible geology.
Pretty awesome! Appreciate the adventure!
Thank you Kirk!

Super cool! I've been on several summits and probably seen that same pilot doing those tricks.
@@FoorTrek haha! With all the hiking you do, it wouldn't surprise me!

Hi Wayne. While I'm sure there are plenty, I've run into just a few over the 15 years I've been hiking in Red Rock Canyon.
When will you make more videos?
SOON! You are always welcome to see Instagram or Twitter posts with the same handle: @FoorYourSuccess
I'm here in Las Vegas now, lets do this....but.. I'm out of shape from my Colorado 14er days. Dang pandemic got me off track...
