Wow loved that. My husband fished that stretch and loved it. We also did a. Trip with the oldies had great day. Brought back lovely memories. Enjoy rest of week. Nice to see Fran looking right at home in her chair bless her.
That's brilliant Sandy. There were a few fishermen out yesterday, was a nice few hours for me. Fran will be on the next leg so we will try get that done very soon.
Thanks for taking us on that lovely bonus cruise and it was great to see Lovely Fran at the end, I hope that little Emily is doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Glad you enjoyed it Stevie, I wish Fran would have been with me, sometimes the boats aint so good, but this was a nice little Beetle. Emily is home and we love that, thank you.
I’m so glad you filmed this video Marty. What a lovely canal. Just as we are going into winter your summer is looking pretty good with all the lovely green trees and the next generation of birds and animals along the canal. I hope Emily is feeling better and getting the treatment she needs ❤️. All the best to you and Fran XX
Glad you enjoyed it Helen, the canal has sprung into life in recent weeks, lots of canal babies around. Emily came home yesterday, so we a super happy about that, we were very worried for a time. Weather, well, its typically British. Was a lovely half day with rain and howling winds in the afternoon, very grey today too. We do love the sun, but getting a reliable source of it here seems to be a challenge. What is winter like down under?
@@narrowboatmoonshine Our winters in Melbourne are cold and wet but not as cold as yours Marty and we only have snow up in the highlands of Victoria. Melbourne is known as a place that experiences all four seasons in one day so we keep a close eye on the weather reports. I’m so pleased Emily is back home ❤️
@@helenweybury9863 alway imagine it to be warm and sunny there. Got a cousin down there, in Perth I think. I think he made a good decision back then to leave the UK. So far we haven’t seen much sign of summer, just the odd day really.
Thank you Marty. That was really enjoyable. I may never see the canals in person, so seeing them like this, and having you describe what the bridges are like etc was fascinating. Good to see you you at the end Fran. 🙏😊 Kathy
Really enjoyed this one. A nice change of pace. We're unlikely to get down that far in our boat, so really interesting to see a different stretch of water.😁
Glad you enjoyed it Stella. We watch similar videos of other waterways for same reasons. Just thought I would capture it as it looked at its best today.
Really enjoyable that little sojourn, and of course the gorgeous Franny to leave us with. I do also hope your little granddaughter is doing well. See you at the W/e
Howdy Marty and of course Fran. So glad you filmed that mate and it was greast to chast about the cruise weith you. Lovely Canal and I agree a beautiful part of the country. Catch you next time cheers Keith Melbourne Australia..
Hi Martin, just listening to your comments on the basin at Monk Meadow. Keep it up mate because they're some of the cheapest mooring on the G&S. We moor there and as non-liveaboards its great to have it looked over 24/7. We'd far rather have that, with a locked gate than put our boat on the canalside with no security. I guess its horses for courses. By the way, our boat is up for its BCC next year and I'll be giving you a call as you did such a great job with our heating last year.
Hi Andrew, I gave up BSS. Was a pain in the ass for little reward. Monks Meadow certainly has its positives, but as liveaboards it too overlooked. But with that as a home mooring CRT will generally leave you alone, which is a great advantage.
Hi Ron, drinking or arresting?? I like it sometimes, but seen a bit of bother in there a few times. Like most pubs I like to go early and leave early, can’t say that’s always been a successful plan. Friday we went to our local early and never left!
Hi Matthew, it’s such a great community where we are. We love the flexibility of being able to get up and go wether it’s in the van or boat. Overheads are certainly more reasonable to live like we do, this as enabled us to cut our workload down to A few days a week, although Martin is very busy at the moment and is working a lot more.
Hi Marty didn’t realise you move canal boats around? the Boat in the background on 26:25 min in, I’ve just Bought? Need to get to Oxford via Birmingham? What’s the best map of the canals system and we’re would I get it from? I’ve Heard people say there a water point at the next place or a pump out? Fuel stop? I Haven’t a clue? I see your going to Spain next year? We have a place in Villamartin 40 mins down from Alicante we go down in a vivaro come camper van?
Hu Van Demon, I only move boats for the marina and brokerage at the moment, on their insurance. I work PT for them. I'm considering a few things in that direction, but I have plenty work already so not sure I need more. Try this dude www.rivercanalrescue.co.uk/waternav-app/ Yeah Spain for six weeks, got to get the van ready for that. If we had the cash a bolt hole in Spain would be high on our list.
Great Bryan! Yes getting ever closer. Yeah that boats a little Aintree Beetle built in Liverpool. Yes, they are normally 25ft. Real nice and responsive.

I agree Richard, I hate it. We are seeing green land taken and villages swallowed. They have just got planning permission here for hundreds of new homes. Two things for me, where are all these people coming from, and these houses are just cheap crap timber framed units. Ecologically backward and will not last any length of time. Building companies are just profiteering as they seem to be able to do what they want.

Thanks Waka Afloat. What gunk lol?

There’s still time Mark, cheers for that.
Ha! Your meaning of "A Bum Steer" is totally different than in the states. Very nice to see areas that others don't cover in their travels. Cheers.
Ha Ha Cyndi. Yes I know that US meaning lol. It might very well look a bit odd to passers by!
Great video thanks for sharing would be great to look round the marina at sometime if possible.👍
Thanks Dean. I’ll see what I can do, I know some can. Eva bit funny about it. But as I work part time for them maybe I’ll get the green light.

Nice vid thanks, what is that carbuncle thingy on the front of the boat?? Looks like a porta porti
Cheers John. It was a TV dish. An older less pretty one. Looks out of place on a such a small boat.
It was a really nice trip. Nice to watch.
How is your granddaughter doing?
Thanks Marjan. SHE WENT HOME TODAY!!!! So So happy.

Hiya bud, have you ever seen any big fish (carp) along your journeys?
There are some big carp on the G&S for sure, I have seen them sunbathing.

That sounds like one hell of a project, and most likely achievable Tashua. I (martin) really enjoy all those bug out videos and prepper channels.
Lots of speculation on building.
Money is destroying our countryside.
