    I adore Gasquet. He always appreciates good shots of his opponents, he rarely ever loses his temper, he is fair and he looks like he genuinely enjoys his sport. Will miss him when he retires for sure!

      The general consensus is that he is one of the nicest guys on tour. A quiet, humble, respectful person. Goffin is frequently mentioned too.

      He uses such extreme torque, it limits his consistency. That's what you get for the highest RPM on the tour. Not worth it, imo.

    I like Sock. He's got a good serve and heavy forehand, and pretty fast around the court as well. But the more I watch him the more I think his backhand is..well.. it's trash compared to the rest of his game. Many of the balls he produces off that side are slow and high bouncing. Obviously he still has great control over the ball (like pro players have), which is the only reason that backhand is just enough to keep him at such a high level. Hopefully he can work on it, and it won't be such a big weakness.

      The only thing about his forehand is I am curious how you can be so consistent when there is so much wrist movement.

      Typical American style of hard court tennis: big serve and forehand, serviceable backhand, solid net game, average defense and short point patterns.

    • @sljl168
      @sljl168 5 лет назад +7

      nothing wrong with having a super strong weapon(serve/forehand) and having a comparatively weaker stroke on the backhand. most players have a weaker backhand anyway. Nadal's serve and backhand is pretty weak but that hasnt stopped him from winning so much off his crazy forehand and speed.

      Yeah man. What kind of idiot yells in the middle of a tennis point. Especially something like DROPSHOT! or OUT! People that don't play the game need to know that is not allowed in the middle of the point. Very distracting and disrespectful. This isn't football or soccer here. No matter how much you like a player people need to shut up.

      Gasquet's biggest problem is that he adopted Nadal's forehand but doesn't execute it with nearly enough power. Gotta credit Federer -- and Nadal, too, to some extent -- for knowing when to hit a flat, hard forehand. Gasquet does it a few times in a row at 2:49, but still not nearly often enough for his forehand to be considered a weapon.

      I think Gasquet was trying to pressure Sock's backhand with the high topspin balls, but Sock was running around the high balls well and hitting with forehand... for example the point at 1:48
