      Well, you can make it work if you can generate that much on a low ball with the flick of wrist, probably more efficient than taking a full swing from at that point. Sock has a really poweful forehand though, even by professional standards.

      i actually love that shot. looks so fun to hit. huge topspin flick on a low ball, on a running inside-out forehand. turned what would be a defensive shot into a heavy one. his arm does finish a bit low on the follow through though ey

    To get an idea of how hard they are serving (and they are not serving at full power here) have a look at how far up the back fence the ball hits on an ace. Sock at 10:00 and kyrgios at 7:21
    See if you can do that at your local club!

    • @wexelbrighten5196
      @wexelbrighten5196 4 года назад +3

      I don’t think the other pros were that impressed with the shot speed and spin. Sock dropped so far back in the rankings he doesn’t direct qualify into ATP level singles any longer and Kyrgios once got to a QF of a Major, a long time ago.

    • @hennyhuang5240
      @hennyhuang5240 7 лет назад +5

      for the price of having a wrist action like kyrgios and sock, you are going to shorten your tennis career as you get older or just have a ton of injuries.

    • @xellos5
      @xellos5 7 лет назад +10

      I don't get how you injure your wrist... the forehand is supposed to be the most easy shot, for the wrist, in the game. You put the racquet in some variant of the pat the dog position and you pull. No strain required.
      Having a Western forehand my self, the parts of the arm that are used most frequently are the elbow and shoulder. They drop the racquet and allow most of the racquet head speed to be made. Of course this means that there has to be massive core rotation if you are shorter. However if you are above 190 and have wings, you should be find having less core and more arm.

    • @uchihasasuke7436
      @uchihasasuke7436 7 лет назад +1

      The way that delpo hits is more similar to federer and nadal, who both use a straight arm forehand with an eastern to semi-western grip. Its a lot easier to torque your wrist that way because of the extreme wrist lag.

    Sock's forehand looks awful but if you know how to execute the groundstroke, it becomes really lethal because of the fact that it exerts less and you're able to rebound a little bit faster.

    • @emphryio

      Interesting the way that, in preparation, his wrist is turned in toward his forearm (same as Kyrgios). Whereas if you watch Wawrinka or Djokovic the wrist is turned back away from the forearm. What people don't seem to understand is that most of the "backseat coaches" on here are commentating on Jack's technique RELATIVE to his ATP rank. It IS strange for such a good player to have such a relatively weak backhand.

    It's interesting to see what we should avoid doing when hitting the ball....both have awful tecnhiques...dare to say the most horrible across the whole circuit.

  • @IgorDimitrov

    man I don't understand. In the tennis academy I played there were players aged 17/18 with better technique and better control than these two. But they didn't end up as pros let alone top 100. I guess it's the mental aspect that makes the difference.

    • @emphryio

      ...not sure if this is supposed to be funny. These guys play extreme power tennis like hardly anyone in the world can do. Sock has the hardest forehand in the world. Nick has a top 5 serve.

    • @yuanwang8658

      emphryio you should put the 17/18 on the same court with these guys then you will see the difference😄

    It's interesting to speculate that both of these guys would never become pro if it weren't for the technology of racquets and strings these days. Nothing but forcing the ball off the racquet no matter their court position.

      Pixeo Consulting it's called taking advantage of what's available, I'd love to see you try to take one of them on with a wooden racquet, or even a modern racquet.

    Their wrist technique sucks... its only their height that makes them hit the high ball... look at the ball it has no power... unlike Federer or Novak.. not suppose to use the wrist as you follow through

      Dire Wolf so if you're judging sock here than I'm assuming you have an ATP international ranking and have played/beat sock before? If so, what's your name so I can look you up and see the match between you two? I really would like to see how you did against the number 14 best tennis player in the world, and see if you're stroke techniques were able to beat sock's.

    • @direwolf525
      @direwolf525 7 лет назад +1

      Then let me ask you! Do you know how to play tennis?? Do you know anything about the fundamentals of tennis skills? I'm a certified Coach and I know what I'm talking about when it comes to player's technique... I don't have to prove it to you by beating Sock in the game because that is the matter of stamina, endurance..not the skills of wrist or lower body.. LMAO! All have different grips that's why their strokes are different... But if you compare to Roger Federer or other top players that are in number ten... you can see their wrist movement and their strokes more natural... and easy to penetrate.... And I do play tennis in Open level..... Don't take favor because he is your favorite player or say shit if you don't play tennis as in high level...

    • @ezet
      @ezet 7 лет назад +7

      you wouldn't win a single ball against these guys. sorry. it's not about the stamina and endurance. these guys hit harder and more accurate.. they'd rape you in the court so to speak. And as a coach you wouldn't probably improve their game with your knowledge of "better techniques" there are huge invidiual differences on how people can hit the ball effectively

  • @cavaleer
    @cavaleer 7 лет назад

    Textbook HORRIBLE technique from both of these jokers. Sock's is definitely the worst tho. These crap lightweight frames let them get away with it. Roddick was barely the beginning. Their games are almost identical to his. I guess it's not too bad since they're on the tour ranked top 30. lol But it still smears the game.

    • @ArcheCane
      @ArcheCane 7 лет назад +7

      how does it smear the game? Kyrgios's technique on the FH is actually very solid, Sock's on the other hand is unique.

    • @ezet
      @ezet 7 лет назад +1

      Sock's made 6 million dollars price money at age 24. how much have you? it's nothing to do with the frames or any bullshit like that

      Those terrible strokes have only resulted in Sock being the best doubles player in the world. He is slow which is why he struggles in singles.
