    Great video man. I have the Yamaha 3080 for the past 3 years. Love it but it's driving me nuts it doesn't have 2.1 gaming features for my PS5 and series x. I've got the Sony A80J 77 inch so I'm a bit limited with their HDMI ports for gaming.

    • @ILT_AU
      @ILT_AU  2 года назад

      Yeah I totally understand, the receiver does give a lot of freedom when it comes to extra HDMI ports. I love the picture quality of Sony TVs but they just lag behind in gaming features.
      If your considering upgrading. It’s definitely a good option.

      @@ILT_AU which I knew going in. Im more of a movie person but play a decent amount of games. It's just annoying that the maker of one of the biggest consoles doesn't make their TV's with four 2.1 ports like LG. I think I'm going to get the A6A. I can still sell my 3080 for 1,500

    Question.
    With firmware 1.73, have you tried playing native apps on your TV (Netflix, Amazon Prime, AppleTV+) and then have audio go through eARC? If so, are there any audio popping issues with Atmos like you mentioned in your older video?

    • @ILT_AU
      @ILT_AU  2 года назад

      Hey there.
      No I haven’t tried that yet, I’m a big Apple user. So for me, using an Apple TV is the best way to jump around. It’s faster and supports multitasking.
      Is that something you would like me to test for you?

      @@ILT_AU I don't have the A6A yet (have it on pre-order, coming soon).
      I was referring to your previous A6A video where you mentioned you had audio popping and significant lag upon starting playback when using eARC. So I was wondering if the situation with native apps from the TV has improved with the latest firmware?

    planning to get this receiver, Kindly confirm how the HDMI outputs works. do all three of them support HDMI 2.1, can you mirror on all of them, can you select different inputs to different outputs on all three outputs and when selected to different outputs, do they cap the bandwidth to 4K like what Denon, Onkyo, Marantz etc. does?

    • @ILT_AU

      There are 7 HDMI 2.1 inputs.

      @DanielKinuthia 2 года назад

      @@ILT_AU Yes there are 7 2.1 Hdmi inputs. am talking about the outputs. there are 3 Hdmi outputs. my question is, can you view the same source on all 3 of the outputs at the same time at 4k 120hz? (e.g if your playing PS5, can you have it on three different Tvs which support 4k120hz) can you view different inputs to different outputs at 4K 120hz. (one person is playing ps5 on tv1, the next is playing xbox series x on Tv2, and the third is playing PC on Tv 3. All at the same Time) the other Avr's (Denon, Onkyo Marantz) when playing different inputs to different outputs, they cap the resolution to 4k60hz. and its usually written on the back of AVR, this one I didnt see it written that y am asking.

      So far so good. They did come through with VRR despite its forum VRR it’s not FreeSync but I don’t think anyone would see a difference.
      I don’t believe they have released QMS yet however, I don’t have a TV that supports it.
      The only TV I’m aware that supports QMS is the LG G3. Possibly more out there.
      I have been having a bunch of HDMI drop outs lately and I’m now changing my TV to an 83 C1 tomorrow.
      So it will be interesting to see if the drop out issues were directly related to the Samsung QN900A or will they be present with the C1.
      I have found my LGs are much more friendly with the HDMI handshake/protocol than the Samsung.

    Not sure about QFT, but no QMS for this one...
    "YAMAHA initially intended to support QMS (Quick Media Switching) within the HDMI 2.1 specification. However, YAMAHA later discovered that these models cannot be updated to support QMS via firmware. This is due to an unforeseen hardware limitation caused by QMS specification change in HDMI 2.1a. This hardware limitation affects current AV receivers, including Yamaha."

    I'm currently on the verge of replacing my old Yamaha RX-V685 and basically have decided to buy the A6A. It's kinda funny that with all these fancy standards (Qualcomm processors, HDMI 2.1, eARC, VRR and so on) the issue with the 3 second black screen while switching modes still persists. Because I have this when my XBOX Series X (connected to the RX-V685) switches to HDR mode, my LG OLED55C8 (2018) goes dark for like 2-3 seconds. Just sayin... 👻😁😇

    Personally I want to go with the 75 inch I think it’s a better tv but 85 inches at 1888 that’s the best deal I’ve seen at JB . Let me know asap so i can purchase . It’s out of those 2 whatever one you say is better and more advanced I’ll get .
    But if it’s only minor then I’m going for 85 inch

      They all aren’t great TVs.
      So I’d suggest going for the bigger screen. If that all you can choose from the bigger screen will be most enjoyable.
      They aren’t terrible TVs but they aren’t going to give you anything amazing performance / HDR wise.
      I personally avoid the Crystal range because I feel the picture/panel quality is their bottom range.
      But if you want something a bit better picture wise get the Q60b.
