It really struck me how the devil said that if there were just 3 of St. John Vianny on earth that his kingdom would be destroyed. Even though 80000 souls would seem to be a small number for us, especially considering the millions of people alive at that time and billions now, it really goes to show just how powerful God's grace is and what great things He uses His saints to do. Let's all strive to be the other 2 holy people. St. Jean Vianney, pray for us.
Great to have found your work again after The Miracles and Prophecies of St. John Bosco and the TFP. Thank you for all you do, it has helped me more than you could imagine. Please keep up the good work.
God has truly given you the gift of the tongue... you share these real life events and I can imagine and "see" these events happening. I also love your humble ways; we know our place. Thank you!
Thank you for uploading this video, I just started reading the sermons of St John Vianney. I'll make sure to look for the source of this story. I was wondering if you considered maybe telling some stories of the martyrs of Rome and Japan that St. Alphonsus Ligori wrote about in his book on the martyrs.
This shows another story how the saints are disturbed by the devil but it can help with the sanctification of their souls or the salvation of souls. The demons does not appear to disturb the worldly and sinful people but he tries to disturb the people who are near to God.
The spirit realm is real. Tapping, knocking, electronics being activated, Lights where none exist. The sounds of squirrels scampering across the roof of my church during a visit to the blessed sacrament. Or three loud thumps of what sounded like grown men crashing into the roof of the church. Plus other things. Nothing like this story of St John Vianney but troubling to say the least. Blessed Be God and blessed be His Holy Name.
In his "Soul of the Apostolate," Dom Chautard relates that an impious lawyer went to Ars to mock its unlearned Curé. But he returned converted. Someone asked him: What did you see there? He answered: "I saw God in a man." That is, the presence of God was in St. John Vianney. One could note that God was with him and in him. Hardly a fanatic, but a real miracle worker in the stubborn hearts of men.
His name is Jean-Baptiste Chautard (1858-1935). "Dom" is an honorific title in French. He was abbot at the Trappist Monastery, Sept-Fons. His greatest work, "The Soul of the Apostolate," was the bedside book of St. Pius X.

St. Jean-Baptiste-Marie Vianney, pray for us
Saint Vianney was a most sweet, humble servant of God. Saint Vianney, please intercede for my daughters and me.
Thank you, Matthew. You are a master storyteller.
I'm not even close to that, but thank you for listening. I can never do him justice: he's one of the all time greats.
2:47 - this only shows that we MUST offer all our mortifications, crossess, works, duties, prayers for the conversion of sinners, it's very powerful!
You are amazing young man. I could listen to you forever, and I am a woman, wife, mother and grandmother.

When you come under demonic attack, humble yourself. They are a lot bigger than you. God will use you, if you recognize His strength and not your own.

Because he was a fanatic, simple man from rural France from xviii century?

If this is what you think a fanatic is, then I hope to dome day be one.
@@catholicmenspodcast As a "Dom" he seems to be a very reliable source.
