When they come back, I will watch them like a hawk to see if any mounts are installed and especially one like you showed in the video. If they do not install one like yours, I will buy it and install it myself.

      If you put in an undercount sink you can add the brackets during the initial install and avoid any problems down the road.
      These brackets can be used as a preventative measure as well.

    Just be sure the side walls can handle the pressure. I have a similar style idea with wood that failed after it pushed the right side wall. A block of wood in the back corner and front corner will help to hold the walls together when doing this.

    be sure you have enough space underneath the sink that will allow the braces to fit. So a smaller cabinet like I have is very difficult to get these braces to fit and support the sink.

    • @BobsHomeServicesLLC

      They should fit almost every sink even when the clearance is very low. It’s when the clearance is much wider that you need to watch our other video

    For a double sink, would you recommend putting one of those kits on each side?

    • @BobsHomeServicesLLC
      @BobsHomeServicesLLC  3 года назад +3

      If you have a double sink you will be fine with just one kit. Each kit has five pieces (three long and two short) in it and so you can put one on each side and the shorter ones on the back, corners or front depending on space. Make sure you put some clear GE 100% silicone on the sink top prior to putting it in place. You will most likely need someone helping you hold it in place while installing the arms.

    • @BobsHomeServicesLLC
      @BobsHomeServicesLLC  3 года назад

      A car scissor jack would work fine, but the screws have to be that size to avoid going through the 3/4" sidewall of the cabinet.

    Trust me, the liquid nailing or using epoxy to "glue" the blocks from the bottom WILL eventually "let go" and your sink WILL fall; my sink was put up this way many years ago, 10-12, and wanna guess why I'm looking at this video? It did hold for a good number of years, but we all know when everything fails lol. I wedged a 2X4 up under my sink to temp hold it up in place and used the liquid nails fuze-it to put the blocks back up; I left the 2X4 in place through the weekend to allow plenty of time to set completely. I then measured and cut 2X4s and screwed them up under the sink horizontally from end to end, using "L" brackets on the ends of the boards and screwing them boards under the blocks to "secure" the blocks in place; this way, I have the best of two ideas and doubt my sink will ever fall again...when I'm "least ready for it to fall" lol. I then used 100% brown silicone to seal the gap on the topside where the sink and counter meet; my counter is a brownish stone, so it looks really good. I secured the 2x4s at angles to push up flush against the blocks to even out the pressure across the face of the blocks. Im certain i could stand in my sink and it not budge; but wont be testing that confidence. ANY honest contractor will tell you that glued blocks will NOT hold forever, because I'm certain they get many a calls to fix them when they "let go". I hope this helps you.

    • @BobsHomeServicesLLC

      Depends on your circumstances. If only one side of your sink has collapsed you only NEED one, but I would install two in hopes to avoid experiencing the issue again.
      The Amazon package comes with five and one or two of them are short while the others are longer.

    Tried this fix, but it was not easy for a 48" wide vanity with side drawers where the sink had come completely off the countertop. It took a whole day, we had to add wooden supports to the front of the vanity to which we attached the braces, and the angle was impossible to set the braces as they should have been set. Vanity sides were too far away to use the braces on the sides of the sink, front to back it was too narrow. Still, if it saves me $1000 to replace two vanities in our master bath (they need to match) and another $1000 in installation costs, it is worth it. Spent $68 on the brackets and the third hand. Spent much time apologizing to Jesus for the bad language. Praying the other sink doesn't separate.

    • @BobsHomeServicesLLC
      @BobsHomeServicesLLC  3 года назад +1

      Watch my other video on using epoxy to repair the sink. It’s a different method and should be used when the vanity is larger. I think you will find it is more in line with your particular issue.
