that part "eliminating the things that do not work instead of adding more and forcing trades" so true! I also started that mindset on my fx trading too and big difference! much knowledge working against me instead of with me! Keep making these! even if i fx trade they really are inspiring! thank you broh! And you have a great family, bless you! Peace!
Great video, nice to see videos about the reality and process. Gives confidence when starting with small trade size and your personal process for growth.
I would say it's the opposite of insipiring. I though you could start small and slowly over long periods of time build up. But all of these videos make it seem like you already need to be rich to participate. If i lost 4-6k in 4 months i would be completely screwed, living on the street. And i think that any common person would say the same. In my country the average salary is 1 - 1.5k Euros. So minus the "survival" costs and you're left with 300 - 750 in profit (if you live a cheap lifestyle). So you basically have to live cheap and earn at least 3k Euros. To not die in this business. .
Upgraded the sheet immediately by just turning off gridlines. What was your starting capital? I saw in another video you had about a $500k account size at the end of 2022, but what risk did that $50 represent? $50k? $5k?
How much did you begin trading with James? If you don’t mind. And what is your average size position? Last question how long did you paper trade before going full time? From a newbie. Tysm!
Hey A P, I started with a $30k account to bypass the pdt rule and only used $5k of that to trade with. I started with risking $50 per trade, no paper trading.
Hey Sasha, yes I do both long and shorts and yes I trade in a margin account. Transition meaning to real money? I only traded paper money until I got familiar with the platform and started real money with very little risk.
Hi James thats great but ! trying to reduce how you loose what is the key? if you loose 1R each time you loose it cumulate un less you have a a specific plan to not loose more than 1R when you loose im interrest to understand what was you key action ! thanks
Hey Carl that comes with trade management. I look for trades that have the potential to make at least 2Rs, so I try my best to manage these trades to minimize the ones that aren't working, and maximize the ones that are.
Did you use leverage a lot or just non leverage amounts? Using leverage wrecked my account hard a couple of times so i went back to a cash account. Been doing much better
Hey James. Do you ever trade pre-market? Or are there any times that you have a "NO TRADING" policy such as during lunch? If so, what time is your "lunch" that you do not trade?
Hey DPop I have traded pre and post market before but I rarely do. It's not written in ink but I do try to stay away from entering new chart trades at lunch (9-10am pst) and the last half hour of the market. But I still scalp during those times.
Congrats and yes this was very helpful. Like you said and your journals show, once you focused on keeping losses to a minimum, your P/L grew! Besides the $50 per trade loss limit, did you have a daily loss limit that you would stop trading for the day at?

Thanks for being so transparent in this video and now I don’t feel so bad every time I pay market tuition.
Thank you! Just remember it’s “tuition” only if you’re learning from it 👍
Great video, nice to see videos about the reality and process. Gives confidence when starting with small trade size and your personal process for growth.
dang. thats inspiring, being more selective with my trades and eliminating the paper cuts is definitely something I need to work on. thank you sir.
This was VERY helpful. To help manage expectations that in the beginning there will be bad months. And the future is not guaranteed.
Thanks James to share your learning experience. Well done man
Thanks Jacqueline!
This is something I’m working on as a new-ish trader: Less bad=more good. Thanks for the video!!
Hope it helps!
Appreciate the transparency keep up pushing out these type of contents

James, does your long vs. short profits fluctuate with the market conditions or does TOS vs Etrade ratio serve as the proxy?
