Yooo syntac you should make taming outposts across the map...about 4 in The most convenient spots.....should be a small building ,with fences or windows marking a designated taming area ....narcotics tranq arrows and darts should be stored in each building of a taming outpost....this will make it easier to tame creatures and also protect them while they tame
They could give the Morellatops functionality with the wireless water system, automatically refilling water when in range of an Intake and working as a mobile Water Tank to distribute water to other items within range.
I wouldn't be surprised if the beetle and ovirapter were given the ability not just because it is good but helps with clutter like the water and power change.
Since the phiomia is useless now. A good ability especially for early game would be the ability to sniff out and locate bee hives since they are hard to spot an no snow owls yet. That way early game moschops taming would be easier
I'd love to have tamed Beavers able to make Dams, that slowly produce their usual products. they'd still require manual harvesting. but would be nice to have. perhaps they require wood in inventory, and wandering near water, to make said Dams.
As others mentioned (and I double-checked the footage from E24 and verified), the last place the longneck rifle showed up was on the old Nova, now named 3504H 1220S 648W 383M. The last place you see it is at 36:45 in episode 24, if being specific helps.
22:30 Archaeopteryx - make it a shoulder pet, and automatically deploy a float b4 hitting the ground instead of a "hold its legs to flop in the sky and impede all other actions" Frog - Expand its throat with air to surface faster, or to store bug bodies in to produce more cementing paste over time and a higher amount but slower. Turtle - Gather under water fiber / berries - retract legs and head to slide down hills Megalosaurus - Store a rested buff after being in a sleeping state to make them usable during the day Spider - Produce silk...... Climb walls...... MAKE WEB TRAPS Onyc - Harvest blood Leech - Remove disease from blood of the host its attached to Giganto - use mele weapons.... bc ofc they let the mantis do it, with its lack of fingers or thumbs Phiomia - Garbage disposal that eats anything... Bee's - Promote crop growth through pollination Pelagornis - Dive bomb fishing Eel - Power electronic devices in the area with a limit to energy like the healing of a Daeodon Mammoth - Spray water on crops Megaloceros - Shed antlers for new armor / weapon crafting Microraptor - Stun enemy dinos / Stop being dumb..... :P
Megalania - give it a slight size and power buff to make it more than just cave clutter. Use megalania toxin generated in its inventory to cover melee weapons and arrows to apply a toxin effect (or more potent tranq arrows). Pachyrhinosaurus - Give it a block that can go along with its aggro mist to make trapping easier. Cover nearby allies in one of the two mists, lingering for an amount of time.
And for the gorilla boss the loot crate is at the entrance. So if like me you fight the gorilla in the arena then you have to remember to run all the way back to the start.
The last time it has been seen, as far as i can tell, is that it is in old nova. when using it to move structure storage you dumped all into him. Then later you took his saddle and rifle was still in there
@Syntac I think the egg buff does require wandering. After you disabled it, the argys didn't lose the buff immediately, but they started losing it by the time you reenabled it. The buff is likely time based and it decayed just before you reenabled it.
I'm pretty sure the last time i saw you use the longneck was during the penguin taming/massacre i also think you left it on the true nova not this imposter you're flying now. That said i'm sure you'll find better in a loot drop or cave supply cache.
love the quote at 32:48 "We just sit on them and we blast ass, with the stim berries..." that made my day. thank you Syntac for your nuggets of gold you surprise us with.
Spinos are my favorite dinosaur, even before ARK. When I saw them in ARK it just reaffirmed it for me, and then when they got the water buff was like christmas. Can't wait to see you get those nice Spinos :D
I'm surprised no one else has commented this, but the oviraptor's pickup range depends on its overall level, not its melee stat. The RUclipsr 'Doth' has a really great, in-depth video on it. Whenever you decide to breed oviraptors, the type of mutation won't matter, which should hopefully make it a lot easier to start stacking them.
Yo Syn, and a PSA for everyone else, points in melee don’t actually increase ovi range more than any other stat. The range is determined by overall level (I opt to level up HP although it really doesn’t matter much)
Props to you and the boys for keeping the series as vanilla as possible seeing these bases. I didn't play much vanilla ark in the beginning and forgot how painful the vanilla stacks were so I caved and got the stacking mod for my server
Oviraptor range is determined by the level of the Dino, melee stat doesnt matter, just the overall level of the dino. So the higher level oviraptor the further it can pick up!
I'd love to see a bunch of little mutation projects for things like Oviraptors and other creatures you'd have around the base, sort of like ornaments with function. Especially since a lot of them are probably fairly quick breeds! Even just for color mutations, for some of the creatures. (I say that hypocritically as someone who always ends up breeding for stats, anyway, even when I tell myself I only need colors. This is how I have level 350+ Jerboas on ASE...)
Glad to see oviraptors becoming more useful in this game. They're one of my favorite dinosaurs, but they always seem to get overlooked by dino-franchises.
I'm obsessed with the doedic with the yellow spikes, I wouldn't change any other colours they looks so cool together! Although I do love the pink toenails on the other one 💅😆
@@Jimbo635 Well that’s what op meant, as the ovi’s level increases the range increases, what those levels go into seems to not matter. But this will be disproven or supported by tests later on when the game reaches a more stable state, or at least when consoles get it there will likely be a spike in tests and the such
@Jimbo635 there's a really in depth video about how they work already, every 25 levels the oviraptor has the range increases exponentially up to level 400something
This... is actually something that the Pegomastax was originally supposed to do... It's still in the dossier as one of the main things it's domesticated for, which has a very mediocre implementation in the game currently. It's supposed to help you gather all sorts of rare plants, but right now it just helps you get seeds.
All the spare fertilizer??? - fill Jim's storage spaces with fertilizer! Everything! Infact, fill all players with fertilizer! Imaging their faces hahaha
Default used to be 3 IRL days before they will "age out". I'd still get a few Ovi for different eggs. Fert vs non-fert. Phiomia ae great for meat like Ovis now. Use a few Quarter walls, ceilings and the ramps. The steep angle will cause babies to drop a bit. or just remove the ramps once the doeds are on the 1/4 roofs. A breeding chelf was always useful. Hatch frames and shelves in ASE where nice too.
You could just have the spinos in the background. Waiting for when you are ready to use them. As far as more features to old creatures that aren't full tlcs. Here's a few. - crop collecting and fertilizer distribution. Maybe a Gigantopithecus could assist in this process. - Pachyrhino: this is based on the kbd version but with different things. The idea is simply using an attack wheel to give the Pachyrhino some new gas attacks. Even just reusing the trike charge as a more blunt and knocback focused attack, and the trike frill resistance would fit nicely. I think my favorite idea with this concept was allowing the Pachyrhino to eat any soups and other consumables without negative effects and disperse a reduced effect as a cloud of gas. Some ideas: - Soap: inflict food poisoning and blinding on nearby targets. Lowering food. - focal chili: nearby dinos and players receive a 15-20% speed bonus (as opposed to the 25% offered by player eating) and a crafting speed bonus of 75% (as opposed to 100%) for a duration of 5-7 minutes (as opposed to 15 minutes) - propellant: a combustible gas is released that explodes after a few seconds scaling damage with oxygen or melee. - organic polymer: this creates a slick plasticy disk at the release point. If lit on fire this realeas toxic gases similar to the genesis volcano vents. - honey: this releases a sticky conjuction that slows targets in the cloud and attracts bugs to them. - med brew: releases a healing cloud that directly heals 80 health to nearby dinos. With a balanced cooldown as to not make daedon obsolete. - beer: for 1 minute all allies in range get boosted resistance, and the general effects of beer. But for 30 seconds after the hangover effect is also applied to creatures. Food items like berries, meats, kibbles, vegetables, veggie cakes, and eggs have no effects. Custom recipes provide 50% of their effects when used. Water used on creatures gives a quench to fire or sticky residues like resin. (Okay maybe this is more tlc, but im still gonna leave it here because i like it a lot) - Troodon scouting should sync up with the POI system so marked things can be pinged on the map. Troodon should also be able to be picked up as shoulder pets but thats a lesser issue. - scorpion: araneo, titanoboa, and pulmonoscorpius should all be able to be milked for venom. To make better arrows and darts. Scorpions should also have some basic dexterity in their attacks. Attack 1 just claws. Atttack 2 just tail Attack 3 or charged attack 1 pick up a dino in the claws or drop it. The torpor they deal should also be boosted. Surpassing at least a basic crossbow. - rhynio: they should actually get the special arthro enzyme mentioned in the dossier. The one that makes the resin destroy tek.
I love the fact that Syntac really wanted those Spinos. I would say get the kibble and go for them so you can tank other tames. I'm not sure what dino you would need for the kibble maybe a Thery? You could tame another ovi-raptor and build an egg base near where they spawn.
one thing i noticed is the range that is shown by the Oviraptor when you enable the ability to see it is just the range for what dinos are more likely to lay eggs while the actual egg collection range is a medium size.
It's great that some of the creatures now have the features from S+ such as auto egg gathering. The Phiomia should provide the healing pork it provided in Creatures+. That would give the Phiomia back a useful purpose again.
Argies can act like a mobile taming cage for small creatures. You can hold them in your beak and knock the creatures out while the argy is holding them. It also makes otter taming trivial. :)
I think Moschops need an update, don't get me wrong, they're great. Collecting meat and berries to fill up a feeding trough is helpful, but if they could have something that turns their inventory into a feeding trough for the other dinos. Or any other creature that collects both meat and berries. It would be great!
i prefer the pronouncing if the oviraptor over how you call them tape jars LOL XD keep up the good work, I look forward to your vidson ascended. Got me hyped to buy it when I wasnt really wanting to.
You can actually stack fridges in ASA. You need to put a vertical pillar on top-behind the row on fridges and you can place a fridges in front of them. There's a ytp vid showing it it's named ''Stack Refrigerator's In ARK Survival Ascended! No Mods!''
Making a creature able to craft stuff so you could queue it to craft using storage would be pretty interesting I think, so you don't have to make it by hand or gather all materials on your own inventory.
Phiomia could grant a buff to things around it, to slow down/speed up their hunger rates/how much/often they eat. Works on wild and tamed critters. Help tame stuff, or help slow down the emptying of food bins.
It’s been interesting to see how many changes are similar or exactly what the Krakens Better Dino’s mod did. The oviraptor and dung beetle are both examples of that
Great vid man. I would say the way to go is have 2 oviraptors - 1 collecting the non-fertilized eggs, one the fertilized eggs. Make them a mater pair and you are good to go. ;)
Ovis have an ability when set to wonder to trim all the shrubbery in an area. And passively collect berries. Just nice to keep the grasses down around the base.
A good change in general that would indirectly make the Phiomia better, which I'm somewhat taking from the Kraken's Better Dinos mod, is to implement more meat types. In KBD, the Phiomia and Daeodon are the only creatures that drop "High Protean Meat", which can be used to heal carnivores more quickly. The mod also give's the Ovis' butcher mechanic to the Phiomia, where you get more of this meat with a higher HP Phiomia. If balanced right, this could make the Phiomia a valuable farm animal, which you'd essentially keep as a "cow" to have a constant supply of high quality food. KBD also makes it so the Phiomia can somewhat rarely harvest some crops and rare mushrooms from bushes (It only gathers 2 of the 4 crops, the Gigantopithecus can get the other 2), alongside having a higher chance at gathering Stim/Narco Berries and Fiber than usual. Admittedly, this bonus was a bit strong, so perhaps they could restrict it to a unique right click that has it sniff around, which will randomly enhance and mark a nearby area/bush (a similar bonus to the Ichthyornis').
Thank you for uploading today. I needed a pick me up. Just found out my grandma is Covid positive because my piece of trash mother intentionally exposed us to it. I haven’t been tested but I have symptoms so we’ll see. 💙💙💙 Always excited to see your videos.
Ok, so you should fly over to Axeman's base, telling him you will give him a present, all suspicious, then just drop the pink and purple doedic for him (he will love the colors). Kind of a thank you for staying away from the spinos! You can do the same with one of the useless wolves for Evo. Not sure what Jimbob would like or need that you have, he has three argies, no wolves and lost his carno (but I don't think you have a spare). He's not picky so whatever you give him would be perfect! No idea where your good rifle is, no one would take it as they know you use and need them.
You can build an egg separator/spreader machine for when you need to throw out dozens of eggs and don't want them all landing on the one spot. Like pinball or one of those arcade things. Did you do this before? I wish they brought the whip to the island. Such an important item to be left out, especially because of the snow and tek caves 😢
An Argent return to home function would be soo awesome. Imagine fast traveling between main base and south base. Grabbing a bunch of stuff you need from southern region, take the Argy back to main base and turn on the return to home function on the argy. Then after a few minutes you can fast tavel back south and your argy would be there waiting on you.
I bought your Mystique plush a few days ago! I can't wait for it as it will be a birthday gift to me and will be shipped out on February 11th, my b-day is February 8th :). I feel like Jim when it comes to dino levels on my single-player. Level 100's or higher is my goal. I'm just finding super low levels. Right now I'm having such a hard time with doedics. I've looked everywhere only finding a 45 near the base you had in one of your playthroughs, the same area you found the spino. Also, I'm guessing there is a bug right now going on as all my dinos are falling through the ground when I get back resource gathering or searching for doedics. So frustrating but having fun with ASA
Dolphins should have an effect where if you have more than 1 close to each other in a fight underwater, they debuff other underwater creatures with Echo reverberations. Disorient enemies by pinging and clicking. It's actually a real ability dolphins have when they find threats like sharks.
8:35 (not a comment most people are going to care about, but...) those 2 different ways you've pronounced Oviraptor are BOTH correct. Regardless of which way (between those two) any of us pronounce that dino name, it is close enough that you can just call it a difference in dialect (like how the word "banana" is pronounced differently between American and British English speakers. Both are correct and can be considered as interchangeable pronunciations.
I feel like the beavers should be able to make cementing paste at the cost of wood. Maybe if you have to set them to wander, then give them a bunch of wood, they could make tamed beaver dams themselves.

Got the mission: tell other guys to tame that pair of spinos lol.
OG Nova is holding your rifle hostage until he gets his name back lol
Just had my dodo plush arrive today from your extra life stream in 2020 😂😂 Harold shall be very much looked after 😊 thanks Syntac 👌
I swear idk why but i'm getting the nostalgia of just starting to play ark watching these vids.
i prefer the pronouncing if the oviraptor over how you call them tape jars LOL XD keep up the good work, I look forward to your vidson ascended. Got me hyped to buy it when I wasnt really wanting to.
Going back to the old ways of Ark makes you really miss all of the quality of life that cryopods brought to the game
You can actually stack fridges in ASA. You need to put a vertical pillar on top-behind the row on fridges and you can place a fridges in front of them.
There's a ytp vid showing it it's named ''Stack Refrigerator's In ARK Survival Ascended! No Mods!''
i'm so used to playing ASE with BD in that I wasn't aware/forgot the oviraptor worked differently before.
When you start exploring underwater stuff if you reduce the shadow setting to low or medium you can see very clearly (might be better for youtube)
Dudes so good at the game he could tame the whole ark in 1 day
Making a creature able to craft stuff so you could queue it to craft using storage would be pretty interesting I think, so you don't have to make it by hand or gather all materials on your own inventory.
I knew he would figure out the oviraptor thing XD.. An op SS Hatchery
Phiomia could grant a buff to things around it, to slow down/speed up their hunger rates/how much/often they eat. Works on wild and tamed critters. Help tame stuff, or help slow down the emptying of food bins.
I like how they made some s+ structures incorporated into the dinos
2:43 Well that’s your Tusoteuthis killer.
It’s been interesting to see how many changes are similar or exactly what the Krakens Better Dino’s mod did. The oviraptor and dung beetle are both examples of that
Rifle on the other argie from when you lost your frog n had to fly back
Great vid man.
Love the vids, and fortunately the oviraptor increases range per level, it does not have to be melee.
The Dimetrodon has always been able to work as a sort of AC unit, they should work if we put eggs into them they automatically incubate.
Axe is gonna steal your cloths 😂 be ready
I think frogs making cementing paste out of chitin only would be awesome
Thank you for uploading today. I needed a pick me up. Just found out my grandma is Covid positive because my piece of trash mother intentionally exposed us to it. I haven’t been tested but I have symptoms so we’ll see. 💙💙💙 Always excited to see your videos.
i don't play ark but i love this series keep it up
Ok, so you should fly over to Axeman's base, telling him you will give him a present, all suspicious, then just drop the pink and purple doedic for him (he will love the colors).
Can’t wait for crystal isles and aberration in this game, going to look so good in ue5
you look like aquaman in the intro haha. all love and hope you enjoy your day
I had an entire gear set despawn. It might've be because I created folders in my inventory to clean it up a bit but it hard to tell in EA.
11:33 I had seen a 3x sized fish in ASE, once, on val; but they seem to be way more common in ASA
It seems since they removed the levels from them size is now way more variable.
You should start your hit man business like in the vanilla sprinkles server
Someone needs to make a lego oviraptor just for the joke of "lego my eggo"
Syntac concerned about pronunciation of Oviraptor: TAPE-JAR
I think it’d be cool if a dodicoerus could grind material. Maybe make it give you less than a grinder, but would still be neat and fairly useful
a cool name for a future wolf could be "coldfeet" if their feet are blue. 2:44
You should do a dino derby or a gauntlet or something with all the extra tames.
Quote of 2023, "It's a 110. That is a little over 100."
Waxing nostalgic Ben Stiller, "You made me bleed my own blood."
I wonder how this is gonna work with wild wyvern eggs, cus now I'm really excited to see Syntac steal wyvern eggs with oviraptors again!
Hey Syntac, how about having 2 Oviraptors, 1 for Unfertilized Eggs and the other for Fertilized Eggs and have the fert one close to the hatchery?
Morellatops could irrigate nearby crop plots
A Protoceratops that had a raptor deterrent aoe would be cool. Just a nod to that famous fossil of the two dinos locked in combat
I'm loving the oviraptor , and I think they should revamp the lystro plus they are adorable when they do the flip😂.
Seeing Syn with un-dyed armor has me unsure as to whether he found a better piece in a drop or that the clothing goblin known as Axe got to him.
