As I see Papa Dar deserves the time he get to sleep in the FabRats shop chair.
Thanks Ben at Heck Yeah Adventures for exposing Papa Dar for the hard worker he is! Good video thanks for sharing!
I second that. ❤
Now we know why he falls asleep in the chair at Fabrats! He deserves to!
Without a doubt he’s work twice as hard as most of us watching this video today about him and we only saw just a tiny bit of his long work day. 💪🤚.
I hope that a lot of people watch this video. I know that too many of those who should watch this won't because it is of no interest to them. I'm speaking in particular of the people that enjoy having good infrastructure without ever considering people like good ol' Papa Dar! They work so hard on projects like this and have to deal with myriad issues and problems and solve those problems on the run as they appear. Folks like Dar are neglected, unsung HEROES who receive little or no credit or thanks for making the world a better place! Thank You Papa Dar and all those others like you doing jobs that make our lives better! Happy Father's Day!
He gets paid right?
My son is an asphalt mechanic for Clyde they are doing I 80 right now. I take my hat off to asphalt worker every where. They do a hot hard job to make it better for all people of us.
PapaDar is the GOAT 🤠
hi dar and to all great job wow
Thank you Papa Dar for your hard work getting up every day and getting it done it’s not easy some days are harder than others but you still show up and show others what takes to get it done. True example of what it is to be a man. Happy Father’s day to you Papa Dar .
Thank you Ben for showing us what papa Dar does in the summer and it brings back memories of when I was in my 20's working on tankers like one's Dar is using but we had to operate the spraying equipment stod on the back of the tanker and we used to use 3 types of liquid 1 was oil based witch goes into asphalt as well 1 was a water and comical based, and the worst 1 was based from coal and the substance was tar and if you were not careful the fumes burnt your skin it put me in the hospital 3 time, I tack my hat off to all the guys that do all this sort of work in the temperatures you have in the USA and in these canyons witch trap the heat were everyone is working thank's for the video on Papa Dar on his summer job and this fantastic video.
Hard honest work, props.
Thanks Ben&Pappa Dar great video guys .Pappa Dar certainly knows how to drive a truck forward and backwards Great job .
Thanks for keeping our runways in shape👍🏼👍🏼😃…you never know when you might need a haven to land on!
Dar's in good spirits. " Really?" 😂😂
Love it! Bar 10 Ranch airstrip is ready to go for another 10 years!
Papa Dar is a hard working man ! No wonder he always takes a nap in the chair at FabRats. Very interesting and informative video
Thank you Ben and Papa Dar for the adventure , seeing some beautiful scenery and amazing work !
I did tar and chip driveways for a few summers when i was a teenager, it was hot and dirty work, but it was fun when you did it with good guys. I love Dar, hes from the same old school my grandpa was, he drove a concrete mixer for 33 years, gotta respect the old guys that have been part of building the countries we love 👍
Thank you, learned something new today.
Dar also model comfort chairs at Paul's shop. He's a multi faceted man. I worry when I don't see him around.
I know damn well Papa Dar could teach me a whole hell of a lot about driving a truck. I've learned a ton from these seasoned veterans. On decent roads I do keep my drop down. It takes the load so the steer and drives don't have to. It's more important on these heavy single trucks running two or three drops. You're fine on heavy 56k rears but 40's won't be happy even with a heavy steer. And if I'm wrong, tell me about it. I'll take my chance to learn.
Edit: Also glad everyone is safe after that roll. Man that sucks when it happens but equipment can be repaired and replaced. Lives cannot.
I just saw Papa Dar’s team with Lamb construction all the way up here in central Idaho doing a chip seal! These guys are getting some miles on for sure! Love Papa Dar, just good people! Great video!!
Thank You Papa Dar ! Hard working man.
Im glad he is working and making money. Hopefully he will have paul do some more work on his jeep. Keep it going Papa Dar and we all miss you at FabRats. I liked seeing him on the video doing the sponsers video expecally the hair one 😂 he had on that Blond wig 😂
All of us from the flatlands are saying "they drove a semi down that goat trail" lol
Papa Dar a man of few words.😊
😊 very cool thanks for sharing we love poppa dar
Papa dar is awesome
awesome great vid, crap happens and you can't predict when 🙂
That Dar is into a lot of things.😊
Papa Dar is a hard working fella.
Epic, long week. So awesome to met Papa Dar. Runway turned out amazing!
A much needed. Much appreciated. Long awaited. Informative video about the energetic and exciting Papa Dar!
Greetings from Tokyo, new subscriber here…. wonderful details about Papa Dar’s summer work activities and the communities connected to his work. Thanks Ben for sharing this important part of your family. Cheers!
That's AWESOME! I've never heard of that ranch, but it looks cool!
Great work and cool video👍🏻🇺🇸
Hot , tough work..glad there’s men out there get these jobs done. Every time I see Dar he looks beat ..now I know why.
Beautiful scenery
I really enjoyed this video. Nice work!
Sweet video Ben thanks for taking me along I really enjoy all your videos looking forward to see what's next take care God bless
Quite the run out there with heavy rig. Impressive! Let the Grand Canyon Adventures keep going. Thanks
I've been driving a truck for over 32 years across the lower 48 states, the last 15 years i took my CB radio out. I got tired of everybody messing around on the radio all day. It was the best decision I've made.
The company I worked for previous to now had them in every truck, they were handy the odd time, but I don't see that they're really worth having anymore. Most of the rigs on the highway here don't have then anyways
Great Content and Video
Thanx for sharing your adventures with Papa Dar
Team Fab Rats
Have a Great Day 👍
No wonder Papa Dar likes to catch a nap at Paul's shop,He deserves it.
Now we know why Papa Dar gets his cat naps at Paul's shop!!
Robby Layton painted the service body on that Dodge at 12:46 its been 2 years. Pretty cool to see again
I have some family friends here in Texas that do the same thing for the state. They have an amazing way to clean the distributors and equipment in the off-season. Ask Dar if he has seen the dry ice blasting. Blew my mind watching the process. Doesn't hurt the paint, aluminum, etc. Send me a message if he hasn't heard of it and needs the info. Awesome video......
I’ll tell him
Papa Dar is a certified shop chair holder downer, checking for pin holes in his eyelids.
Great job Papa Dar, Ben and I LOVE the Bar 10! Fun place and awesome people!!
Thanks so much! I think you should do a heck yeah adventure out there this month
Im glad you made this video. Ia was wondering why he doesn't stop by the shop much anymore. Could you do one on Randy also? I wonder what he is doing nowadays 🤔
You mean Randal ? I think was guiding.
Thank you Ben.
My dad used to drive an oil spreader truck. We call it tar and chip. One of those jobs he doesn't miss. Reminds me of the days when I had my excavating company when it just couldn't get any worse. Oh yes, it can.
EXCELLENT
You need one of these aka(MDT) mountain dew thief...lol
New sub from fabrats...
Driving that chippen machine down that far, now that takes patients.
Gotta Love papa dar
Outrunning the truck brought back memories of DUEL.
Now I understand why he sleeps on that confi FabRats chair.
Very interesting video. Completely different technology in road construction than in Europe and Germany anyway. Also different from the USA, where there is very heavy frost. Super thanks, learned something again.
Greetings from Frankfurt, have fun, stay healthy.
Papa dar is awesome guy
Where I live at in Indiana the oil truck drives down the road and there's a dump truck that slowly dumps it on the oil the dump truck just follows behind him
When I worked in Alberta Canada on the rigs I always found it tough to talk into the radio weird how it doesn't feel natural. Nice work on the show man really nice
YEP thats cool thanks guys .
My country road in central Illinois was done this way 20 years ago and is still good! These guys are great!
Been out there before. Small world that Dar did the chip seal before too.
Lol, I used to run a Hayes International, beaver tail dump truck, drove it for a couple years with the axle chained on…
Heck yea!! Awesome video, Ben.
Me and my Cousin and her girlfriend and by friend went to Grand canyon years ago. I think it costed $25.00 a person but because we are all Indigenous we got in free. The lady at the park where you pay to get in told us enjoy your Canyon and it wasba Beautiful place to see. I hope to go there again someday
Interesting video. Enjoyed the Papa Dar profile.
I was just out there a month ago. Beautiful area. That road is for sure rough. It broke the hinges on my Jeeps rear lift up window.
We went all the way to the north rim of the grand canyon. Much rougher road after the Bar 10 ranch.
Darr for President! Come on people vote Darr for President!
I was just out there exploring a month ago. My first trip out there about 5 years ago and up on Whitmore I had a big rattler roll along side my boot and luckily he didn’t rattle or bite and we parted ways respectfully
I thought they were just doing a road at first doing a runway in the desert might be slightly different than country roads in Indiana
Happy Father's Day to You All
Thanks for the great video!
I'm loving your channel. This was very interesting on multiple levels. I went to the Bar10 Ranch website just now and it looks like an awesome place and experience.
I remember when we got Chip-Seal on our road in Pahrump . We we moving up in life .
Sounds like Those Trucks might be Needing some Skid Plates…?
Papa Dar
Great video!
A belated Happy Father's Day
Awesome stuff.
Awesome drive home in a chopper beats a drive on a motorway/highway
I did that for over 20 years..👍
Great video Ben
Very interesting video about papa dar. How about showing his rv spot Incase we travel us city slickers love your part of the hills
👌👌👌👌👌
Cool
Papa Dar owns Lamb Excavating. He is a contractor during the summer that wins bids to Chip & Seal roads, airports, etc. His wife owns & runs Bryce Zion Campground north of Glendale. Bar10 ranch is located about 4 hrs south of Glendale. You too can fly in or drive in & stay there.
Couldn’t have said it better myself!
@@HeckYeahBen well thank ya sir, I tried to include as much as I could. Does he also own the pit in Mt. Carmel or just run it? Also Bar 10 is owned by a valley native right?
Wow,
That's alot of hard work,😮
I'm sure the cartel appreciates the extra runways. 😂
👍👍👍👍👍
I thought chip and seal was done on top of asphalt. That looked like it was right on dirt.
Great vid lv ya popa dar
It hot and hard work. No joke I seen my dad do this for years growing up.
No wonder he sleeps at fab rats ! He needs it.
I'm pretty amazed at how much got done with just those two trucks of oil or tar
They do the same in the Bahamas, I thought this Chip & Seal was a third world thing.
Don’t forget Pappa Dar also has a Campground.
🤘🏼💪🏼🦅🇺🇸
In the UK we call that tar and chip its used a lot on our secondary roads But hot rolled asphalt is used on our main roads and Motorways .
Ben: You're sure not as good looking as your sister.
Welcome to the life of a Excavator/Dump truck driver. No matter how well maintained you keep your equipment stuff breaks. Bailing wire, vice grips and Mack trucks will get you home.
