Think of it like if you are at a theater watching a play. You respond, by listening, clapping, or whatever to the performance but the actors do not respond to the audience.
So when a character "breaks the fourth wall" they know there is an audience, and will talk to them.

If you think of a character in a empty room, there are 4 walls, the one behind them, the 2 to their right and left, and the one in front of them, the one that the audience sees them from (why it’s called the 4th wall)

Nothing makes me happier than to see how much spotlight and focus is actually being put on Daredevil. The tease at the end of this trailer, alongside with his show being saved as the biggest and most special announcement for Phase 5 makes me so excited for the character. Can’t go without saying how much happiness I’m feeling for Charlie Cox too. The passion and love he has for Matt Murdock/Daredevil is special, and I can’t wait to see how much prominence he has going forward in the MCU. Fingers crossed for an eventual team up between him and Spider-Man 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Teasing Daredevil at the end, Marvel Studios knows what they're doing. The series looks like it's going to be surprisingly fun to watch.
He's got that Red & Yellow suit too from the comics, I'm not really a fan of it personally but Daredevil is always a win I'm sure the suit will grow on me over time.
