With every passing test this car is looking better and better , for us old Groupe B people this brings a big smile to my face . thanks Peugeot for reminding us what a pure race car can look and sound like somthing that as been long lost in mainstream motor sport for to long now .

Are you sure...?. Try to wathcing the 28 minutes of the Montecarlo 2013 on board, with Sebastian. Later if you want we'll talk. The Pikes Pike is a wonderfull hillclimb, but is EASY respect many rally in Europe, belive me dear yankee 'friend'.

I am not a yankee, I live in Europe, I know the skills of the best rally-drivers put them on top, compared to any driver from any motorsport with cars.
I can repeat that America took a hell of a beating, as they do when one of the European teams really go for it. (Audi, Peugeot...)
Sebastien is probably the best all-round car-driver in the world, and the record shows that he is THE best in races without traffic that holds him up. (Like rally, hillclimb and so on.)
The most awesome with his Pikes Peak-record is that he has never been there before and did not know the road like many of the other drivers, which are there every year.
Or probably i has misinterpreted your words...?. Anyway, put in this way.

Yes, there is a big air pocket and there's supposed to be.
That front end as well as the wing are fully functional modifications.
The design of the front end as well as the wing is to allow air flow to push downward on the vehicle creating a more stable ride as well as better handling and less chance of losing traction.
Basically its just using gravity to your advantage.
Hope that explains it.

The greatest thing to do would be to bring Ari Vatanen on 405 T16, withSébastien Loeb on 208 T16 to both compete for Pikes Peak 2013. Please Peugeot do it. It would be EPIC to see the old 405 doing a good time on the new track! I'm sure the 405 T16 could do a low 10 minutes on the tarmac, or maybe even below 10 minutes.

I'm just wondering, since this car has a lot of parts of Peugeots Le Mans area, surely this would be quite an effective car for Le Mans right? Or would it have to have too many fuel stops?

Well, I might not be the most qualified person around her in this matter, but don't you think the front wing could be causing a lot of drag? I mean, the corners of the front wing seem to be closed, which might be creating a big air pocket (or a place where air gets stuck, whatever you call that), which might increase drag, and reduce performance, and in turn the overall time. I don't know, I'm just saying. Correct me if I'm wrong, I just might be too.

It will be interesting to see how fast this thing will reach the top. It seems that it has a lot of financial support from redbull and peugeot, so it should be very fast but the rest of the cars are fast too. As for Loeb, he always had the best car thats why he won so many races. Hell I think that Ari can still spank him in if they both drove the 405.
its just your point of refrence, his pace is on par with the other unlimited class cars. watch "tojima" "or rhys millen" run..the race isnt as fast as you are imagining, the super high power allows them to continue at the higher altitude, I think they said that at the summit a 1500 hp car is down to like 800hp or something like that

The Unlimited Class at Pikes Peak has safety rules for roll cage and cockpit requirements meaning that open cockpit cars are not allowed unless they have a full roll cage over the top of it. I suppose a F1 constructor could modify a formula car to meet the requirements but it would be more fun to see manufacturers like Peugeot and Audi in the Unlimited Class.

Ari Vatanen is 61 years old. Ridiculous idea. Also, technology/knowhow evolves quite a lot in 25 years making the 405 just obsolete especially since it wasnt even designed for the current all tarmac Pikes, but nostalgy hungry people living in the past of course won't admit this. :P

You missed the point here. Basically every decent driver can do a show, not everyone can really push a racing car to its limits trying to be the fastest and succeed to. Loeb doesn't need to show nothing he is a legend already.
Ken Block is not a rally driver. Loeb is a rally driver. Do not confuse a rich man with time on his hands to that of a truly brilliant driver.
I've only been going to WRC events since 1989 and have been involved in the WRC in a media capacity but what would I know eh? :)

Tell me who could drive this fast on such a track? When I was younger, dale earnhardt was my idole in Nascar, now Sebastien Loeb is by far the best car driver ever. Put him on rally, put him on any car, he rocks. F1 being different though..(do you have 10.000.000 USD to offer for one season?)
It says that car is a v6 twin turbo with 875 ps . Its awd supposedely too, although i didn't see any fwd components when the front is off. Either way loeb looks likes he's going about 70%.

you do know that the ken block videos arent done in one take...its just like making a movie..Loeb is testing for the hillclimb record, they have removed all dirt, so why would he be sliding around? he is driving it like he will in the race

do you know that is a special 208 the 208 t16, it have 875HP and 875Kg, a twin turbo V6 3.2 litres central engine and a almost central driving possition, it takes 7 seconds to ritch 240km/h is top speed...
And that wing kit is the same of the 908 from Le Mans...
He probably got kicked out because no one would watch the other drivers anymore, You guys have no idea.

Vatanen is old yes, and he can't drive at these speeds anymore. But Tarmac setting for 405 T16 isn't a big deal. Please remember, the 405T16 by the time was able to do 0-100 in 2.5 sec, and 0-200 in 9 sec. 550/600BHP for 880kg and 10.47.22 sec at a time PPIHC had only short portion tarmac. In a all Tarmac road the car would have been able to be at least 30 sec faster.

1st of, Loeb destroyed KB at the last X game. Literally. On KB's land and his speciality.
2nd, They are two different types of drivers. KB is more about drifts and making the show, I agree 100%. Loeb is just the best driver history has ever known; 9 times world champion in a row in WRC, please, plus his performances in Formula 1, 24h Le Mans and so on... Let's see end of June, but I'm pretty sure he's gonna write history, once more.
Conclsion, he is NOT just some French hatchback... Fact.

Well I just watched that video Bruno G. What do the other guys expect? Rally Cross too difficult for Loeb? hahahahahaha that must be the easiest racing he ever had to do! Plus I am sure he did some rally cross at some times in his career as we do tend to love rally cross in france! Ken block is good at drifting for movies with edited sequences. But if he was anywhere near Loeb's level, he'd be in wrc! Great show by Le Roi Loeb!
