Man oh man, Arken Age did NOT disappoint. I just got to 100% completion (after finishing the last challenges in the arena). Shadow Legend was absolutely amazing, every ounce of the game had excellent VR interaction and so did its final boss. There was every reason to anticipate Arken Age and these guys deserve to be known as some of the best VR game designers out there. Just stuff like enemies getting you stuck in vines and needing to cut them with a sword, the way picks automatically retract when the other is stuck into a surface, all the eye-tracking features, these devs make it look like almost everyone else is barely taking VR-specific game design seriously by comparison. I hope this turns out to be a major success.
Your continued commitment to PSVR2 is unparalleled. Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary! And, I'm not surprised that No More Rainbows is your jam since you're destroying creatures full of joy ;) .
I expected ALOT more from subside. The trailers were all "look at these cool fish and turtles and sharks. Then you get in the game and it's just devoid of life. Theres no coral and barely any fish. You see a sign that says sturgeon habitat and there is literally only one. The shark cage is even lame after about 3 minutes.
GREAT IDEA! Exploring ship wreck or wrecks would be awesome AF! Dev could even make it a DLC as to not disturb the peaceful subside AND make the shipwreck exploring DLC have horror elements like jump scares and room collapse blockages that force a panic mode escape room before your air runs out.. omg so much room for cool ideas in A horror DLC for Subside VR. :)
I freaking LOVED Into Black on Quest 3. It was a lot of fun tearing through the caves and underwater areas and it looked amazing. I just started Resist and you can definitely see where they got some of the traversal feel and gun play from. Completely different game, but both fantastic. Also spent way too much time playing Gun Club VR on PSVR2. Actually surprised me how fun it is. Big fan of Binary Mill.
I know you're just repeating what the devs are telling you, but Sony QA is not to blame for holding up any of these titles. Their standards can seem arbitrary if it's your first time trying to pass certification but the Sony Technical Requirements Checklist is very basic and foundational in terms of how the UI, save/load, and online mechanics should work. There's nothing insane or crazy that they require. When I was a QA manager I was always surprised at how many devs didn't actually read the checklist and tried to use Sony QA as an initial pass to create their fix list. When Sony QA finds a failure, they stop testing. So even if you fix what they found, they're going to find more issues when they get back to testing. So many devs approach certification like this and then blame Sony for having to handhold them through their UI design.
I'm repeating years and years of stories told to me by dozens of developers. Some of them are shocking - like failing cert for dropping frames during a loading screen. Or the fact that you get a different QA tester every time you resubmit who might fail you for things like motion sickness the last tester didn't experience. These are publishers who've gone through the process numerous times and published plenty of games on the platform. I'm not saying you're wrong (you obviously know what you're talking about). But I am saying the system is faulty. You said when they find an issue they stop testing. That's insanity. When each pass takes a week why wouldn't you keep testing and list EVERY failure to save everyone a lot of time and effort? I must be missing something so maybe you can help me (and all the other confused gamers and developers out). Because a ton of games pass cert every year with plenty of issues that other games get flagged for. So why the inconsistency?
@@WithoutParole Since 1960 all vehicles in the UK have been required by law to be tested for roadworthyness annually. A car cannot be driven without a valid MOT ( Ministry of Transport ) certificate. Last year my car failed because of a bearing. I got them to fix that, only for it to fail the re-test because of a wiper! The reason? "Someone else did the re-test". Now, a local garage is one thing, but SONY?!! They REALLY need to pull their fingers out. Anyway, on a lighter note, there IS no Ministry of Silly Walks ( sorry Bryan/ AJ/Wes ) Now THAT I'd pass first time :D
This is really insightful and seems something like a lot of indie devs would do, mostly because of lack of staffing, experience, and perhaps them wanting Sony to point out issues they need to work on compared to the big studios. Good to know!
Excited for aces of thunder and that off-road racer! Cockpit games in VR are so fun. Any other psvr 2 cockpit games I should know about apart from ultrawings 2, space docker VR, and GT7?

3:40 I am one of the people that gave Space Fist 1/5 and then requested (and got) refund and it is because the game as downloaded on launch day would not work. It was only giving a black screen and nothing I tried got it working. It wasn't from 120hz PS5 option or anything else that has caused that type of issue for other PSVR2 games. I read a couple of days later, the game got trophy list published and working for people, but I wasn't willing to re-buy to try again. Was hoping with your thumbnail you have given it a try and whether it is working or not. I am still interested in game, but want some kind of review (Bryan Bite?) that shows it is now reliably working and then I don't mind as much if it isn't the best of games. I like the idea of a boxing style arcade fighting game for VR and this game has mostly positive reviews on Steam.
I wish phasmaphobia would add the voice recognition. After picking up Waltz of the Wizard I see it is possible and talking with your voice is just as immersive as other aspects of VR can be, it seems obvious to push VR NPC interactions in that direction.
