NVDA as a hedge for inflation is a hilarious article title
I think there is some merit to it. Every time we get a concern about inflation and potentially high rates a bunch of the market goes down while nvda actually goes sideways or up. When they talk about the market broadening out as inflation fades for a moment nvda actually sold off a bit and russell 2k went up over the same period.
Im not a fan of it, it is a pattern that can be seen which suggests to me that someone is likely taking that view.

@@GrapeJeli I see Cisco then being kind of like dell now. Providing an important piece of hardware with no moat. NVDA has a technological edge and it will persist for some time. Is it enough to warrant the current price? Idk, but I think Im ok with the current NVDA valuation. I would like to get it for cheaper but it is what it is.

In 1995, the 10yr 3months yield curve was never inverted. Currently, it's been inverted for >600 days. Recessions usually occur after it uninverts as the fed does its first rate cut.
Yup, within 3-6 months after first cut. The people that know, get out, park their money and wait for a bottom.

Well there was a shallow pullback to where it was in feb 2024, and now it's going back up, and I'm still not in. I'll just see for the next 2 weeks if the trend is strong, set up a monthly plan, and let her rip.
@Leopardipzg I did the same for a long time. I'm not a seasoned vet at all but I to am getting nervous. I've been leaning towards oil lithium and value etfs. I've only been at it 2 months and up 10% right now
@@standardpessimist9857 you're already in the clear if it's up 10%. You can just keep a stop loss for a -10% drop and not lose any money. And a 10% buffer means you'll stay in on any longer trend even with small pullbacks.

A stop loss should invalidate the idea/pattern so jamming it early is usually a loser for me. Good question!

Great video! You are far more knowledgeable than I, but just bc someone thinks a recession is likely doesn’t mean they have a bad outlook on life. I add this bc I know people that would twist that into someone being a negative dangerous person. I mean, the market should have a meaningful downturn at some point. Doesn’t mean a bear is dark, evil, and pessimistic. Perhaps misleading investors about market risk is the true evil.
I agree and am a FA bear myself. Technical feedback just isn’t there. I would just point you to Greg who commented again today lol - who is another participant in the market and whose money isn’t more or less important than me. I use it as a datapoint - there is fuel because a certain trader will not go with the green. Appreciate the comment. Cheers!

Just buy small caps or China. Tons of money to be made and will likely see higher returns than gold in the short term. Gold is good for the long term
The yields need to un-invert first, at this point trade the trend in front of you. The longer inversion remains, the worse it will get when it un-inverts. It will be 12-18 months after uninversion that doomsday comes.
