I'd suggest getting used to the pattern at first. So practice just the feet for while, next I would try playing simple patterns over that pattern like singles as 8ths and 16ths on the snare, then try moving that around the kit (toms), and then maybe do that same process with doubles and paradiddles. There's no short cut through getting comfortable with the feet unfortunately.
I don’t think I played along to a click, but it sounds like right around 100 bpm from the count off. I only added a count off so if my students wanted, they could attempt to play along from the very first beat.
@@maddropproductions4967 yeah, it was mostly a practice tool for my students to work with. You could adjust the tempo by changing the speed on the video if you like
I had to play it for an exam a long time ago...the tempo at the end is incredibly (way too much) fast... the bassdrum and the ride cymbal pattern are really tough to play at that tempo.. I've never been able to play it up to the marked tempo...way to fast, and I have never heard this piece played from top to bottom.
Any suggestions to get the + on the kick down. I’m working on this song and I’m having a lot of trouble playing with the + especially at A
