Thank you for this video. All very informative and kudos to your wife for great camera angles and zooming😊
Thanks!
Good to see you again. I always enjoy your videos and learning something new.
Thanks 👍
Thanks for another video. I’d love to see one of those complicated projects in the future.
Coming soon!
So much good info and thanks for showing all your steps and your thinking process. I have an old 20" tall Olot statue that needs surface repairs and painting retouches, and I'm trying to see what I can do. Thanks again!
You're welcome, and good luck.
Very interesting and informative tutorial. Thanks once again.
Glad you enjoyed it
SO GOOD!
That was good!
I know you don't always like to share product names. However, I would appreciate knowing what brand epoxy was used for this demonstration. As always, thans for sharing your work.
"Harbor Freight Tools" HFT brand 5 min. epoxy.
Though I doubt if brand makes much difference in this instance.
@@marsgitar The reason I asked is that many 5 minute epoxies darken over time when exposed to light. I would be concerned that even though the epoxy is pigmented it would eventually change color. Thanks for the reply.
Hello, I tried to find the colt pigment powder that you have there, but looks like someone else owns that website now. Any tips on getting something similar? Don’t know if this will work, but I’m going to see if I could tint hxtl without compromising the integrity of the glue. I’m working on a very old Royal Doulton figure with a very fine, but not clean hairline crack.really too small for putty and several different colors along the crack so trying to see if I can dye the glue and just fill it in.wish me luck 😊
For powder pigments, just look up "artist quality powdered pigments sets". That should find you the pigments you need. I've heard there are dyes one can use to color the Hxtal but I've never used them and don't know of any I can refer you to. Good luck on your efforts.
Many thanks for this important information. By the way, is Novus 2 (scratch remover) better than Novus 1 (clean and shine) ?
The Novus polishing compounds is a 3-part set #3 is the rough scratch remover. #2 is the polishing compound. #1 is the plastic clean and shine. In the case of this video, yes, #2 will polish the epoxy fill to a nice shine.
@@marsgitar Thank you Martin.
