this is a remarkably easy challenge to do OK at, but very hard to do very well, and there is a unlimited number of ways you can construct a cardboard boat

ive gotten over 100 square feet of 1/2 inch thick cardboard for free for years now, ask random businesses for their old boxes and they will give it to you
Hey, where did you guys get your cardboard from? I've been trying to get some good cardboard for building a desk out of and I can't find anywhere near me that has any or really anyone that will ship it for fairly cheap. It seems like that cardboard was really stable and good quality. Can you guys let me know where you got it from?
I would also like to know where you get sheets of cardboard? I'm sure they're available on the good ole' inter-webs, but locally? That would be cool. I hate paying shipping! Thanks! :)
You could get it from Costco or any place like Walmart comes between their shippers. Or go look behind some of the industrial shops in your town. Places that build things or fix things.

You could use an extremely minamilistic structure and rely on the waterproofing to actually provide the strength.

Cardboard desk? I would personally use plywood meself at least as a thin vaneer on the top.
