Riversurfing Switzerland | EPISODE 1 : Searching Waves
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 29 сен 2024
- Episode 1 shows the beginning of our search for river waves in Switzerland, the challenges we faced and how we figured out what it needed for a good riverwave to run smoothly. It also shows how we gained experience in the ocean abroad and on artificial waves in Switzerland. Last but not least it shows, that only maybe it is not just by pure chance, that we walk away unharmed every single time after surfing flooded riverwaves since over 17 years. This Episode already answers some of the questions from reader comments in recent critical newspaper articles about flood riversurfing.

Just had the idea to go chase waves in switzerland. So glad other people have the same energy. Great documentary, can't wait to see some of you guys at these spots
Thank you 😃 see you out there
Hi I just have some questions for you regarding the Ecotraining;
1. Which camp was it?
2. Was vegetarian food available
3. How did you get there? (which mode of transportation and how far was it from the nearest International airport)
:) Thank you
Hi Renay, I took part in the 55-days course last year and am currently doing the full year professional course.
1. The courses are divided between different camps to give you maximum exposure to different habitats. During my 55-days course I was in Selati and Pridelands
During my Professionald Field Guide Course I was in Karongwe, Selati and Makuleke
2. Yes you can sign up as a vegetarian, and the vegetarian options are really nice.
3. Transfers can be organized through EcoTraining (Bus Transfer) and are usually done from Johannesburg. You can also selfdrive to the camps or arrange a pick-up from smaller airports close by to the camps
Hope that helps 😃
@@TheMegaMatt Thank you so much
You should be given a PhD for this!
😂 thank you! Much appreciated!
Such a good documentary. Really looking forward to Part 2 :)
Danke Aniks 😁
hello, This is soo cool!!! do you know of such surf places in the area of Baden?
Hi, happy you like it. No I don't know of any places in that area. Probably best to get in contact with the local Surfing or Kayak Community and explore 👍
Love this video! Your experiences you shared about exploring and experimenting remind me of my buddies and I figuring out how to skate a 30 foot concrete full pipe in the mountains.
Thank you so much 😃 glad you like it! Sounds awesome with the full pipe, exploring is definitely one of the most exciting parts!
Very interesting documentary, thanks for the hard work, digging out all the footage!!! Can't wait to see episode 2!!
Thank you brother 😁
Schickes wedge board :D
The river is quite wide and very nice.... so it can be used for surfing
This is great! Some of those flood waves look world-class. I'd love to surf them! (I noticed Mtl in one of the stills there too) :D
Hey man, glad you enjoyed this series 😃 Yes some of those waves are absolutely amazing! Been very lucky to surf such nice endless waves
Sehr guet, zerscht beobachte und DENN sörfe. jetz no die andere zwöi videos luege :-)
A well-researched and very informative documentary, excellent!
Thank you, glad you like it 😁
Think safety!
I do not recommend having a leash on your leg, if it gets stuck underwater you cannot open the leash in the current(never)
Exactly 👍 that‘s why we always attach the leash on our arm. Check Episode 2, it‘s explained in detail.
Is it possible to learn in a place like Thun if I have no ocean experience? Would river surfing help once I'd finally manage to hit the ocean? Thanks a lot for the video
Hi, Thun has a nice Riverwave and it will definitely help your skills in the ocean if you are able to surf on a river. If you start from zero I would recommend having your first surfs at one of the artificial waves in Switzerland, like OANA near Lucerne, URBAN SURF in Zurich, ALAIA BAY in Sion or Wakesurfing on one of the Swiss Lakes. They can provide you with the right equipment and you get to make your first steps in a safe environment with professional instuctors.
wow, epic work. Keep it up!
Thanks 😁
wow ich hatte keine Idee, dass die Schweiz solche Riverwaves hat.!!!
Yesss, sie laufen leider nur selten, aber wenn sie dann laufen 🤩🤩🤩
