In supermarkets like that, most of the products are imported and the prices are also more expensive because of taxes. Most supermarkets like that only target upper and middle class people while lower class people prefer traditional markets

We hit the traditional market for fresh home cooking ingredients and the supermarket for treats and goodies. If you want to experience an Indonesian traditional market, it could be quite the chalance with its rural charm that I wouldn't recommend. But if you're looking for something a bit less rustic, check out something called "Pasar Modern" (Modern Market)- it's a perfect blend and not too rural for you guys!

I remember my first time shopping in Jakarta too! I've seen familiar and mostly items that were new to me--so many choices!
Gotta keep in mind that melon-picking tip! Will come handy for sure!! 👌🏼 But one of the things I loved most in Jakarta is trying local treats and dishes which I also shared in my channel. Awesome content by the way! 🇮🇩

@@Mintexplores Actually it's the same but I recommend Indomaret There are several types of Indomaret, namely Indomaret fresh and Indomaret point, Indomaret fresh is more about fresh food for processing such as fresh beef, fresh vegetables and fruit and Indomaret point also sells fast food and you can eat directly at the shop Because the chairs and tables provided are more like a small cafe
