Thanks for the tips. I’ve been wanting to learn for the last 36 years. Finally got to do it this week, and got it somewhat. I’ll be using your tips this weekend for sure. By the way, whoever recorded this videos did a great job.
Haha. Thanks so much man. Glad you enjoyed them and looking forward to hearing if it all works for you. By the way I did all the recording and editing so thanks. 🙏🏼
Expert advice from an expert! Ahhh get me the professionals right now! Introducing Mr Campbell (:-) Bruv, I love your explanation of the foam ball. I mean I've been riding since I was seven so thirty years plus and when you get really good (like you, lol) you start to read and understand the ocean really well. I love the way you've explained to ride the foam ball with legs dug in for control and lift up for maximum speed to launch an invert2AIRrevo hehe. I mean bra, you've mastered the backflip and it's quite evident with your super smooth style, the ZAFAs are killing it. Do me a favour and start busting these moves such as 720's I know it's easier on paper but you're super fit with plethora of experience. I would love to see you take the sport to the next level. I am subbed to PLC's channel as well but he doesn't post as often as you, maybe cos he's busy now being a family man but I wanna see you excel over the younger crew because I was busting massive inverts when I was younger and the aussie talent here are very competitive and I didn't make it far competition wise because I love soul surfing but other life matters got in the way. Watching you over the years though, there is something that I can see and I know you have what it takes. You nail backflips with ease, lets go one better and double backflips or even backflip with tweeks. Your charging on the rights at Arica, didn't go un-noticed and I think you was hard done by meaning you should've went further but that's just my opinion. Keep shredding, as Lewy would say, "Frog legs, spin in da pit, flip out" yeeeewww lol peace mate ps I wanna invest in the sniper crew, you legends are so sick .. Where's that url lol
Thanks man. I appreciate the comment. I’m the only bodyboarder doing this at the moment and happy to help. 2019 will be a big year for me with a lot of new content and ideas coming. I want to start to show people how it really is on tour. There is so much to do but it all takes time and that needs to be manageable. I’m gonna keep posting up and trying to build this to what it needs to be. Looking forward to showing you more soon. Bigger and better 2019. 🤙🏼
Thanks for your prompt response. I really appreciate the reply. I have had a look at the sniper website, looks awesome. I'll try and invest in some gear to help you guys out (:-) Stay happy bro, peace.
Nice video, you should keep up with this videos, they are really helpful. I would like to see a manouver guide. Best bodyboarding youtuber so far, u legend! please more vids
Planning on all the moves I have. Let’s see if I can keep to 1 video every week. Maybe will start on something different like board specs too. No idea where this is going just yet.
@@iaincampbell_ It would be awesome! I'm sure everyone will support your videos, cus you're an amazing bodyboarder. Not everyone knows about board specs, so it would be a fantastic idea. This is going in a pretty good direction, so keep up with the weekly vid! Cheers from Chile mate
I would like to know when to hit the lip and at what an angle to project. being a local at some shorebreaks it's quite difficult to land these maneuvers when coming down really quickly. I would like to know the techniques in landing and projecting.
Hi Kian, In this series there will be more videos and alot more explanations to what to do especially when doing air moves. Angles all depends on the wave and its difficult for me to pin point these certain explanations.
Thx for the post. These tips will definitely help me in the future. My only problem is the wave positioning for some reason that always happens when I take the perfect wave even when im on the peak of a perfect a-frame im alwys too high or too low on the wave. Then it closes out on me.
Look at the positioning on the board. Getting further forward will make you go faster. Further back will slow you down. This could help a lot to gain speed.
@@iaincampbell_ can you elaborate? I always feel like my eyes follow the pitching lip above me and it pulls my head to look to my outside shoulder, which naturally causes me to take a lower line and get lippe or run into the Shockwave. I need to look more towards the shoulder exit
@@natehawesvideo I am usually focusing on the lip on the shoulder of the wave. I never follow the falling lip but try to find out what the lip is going to do... I will try to make another video explaining all of this soon!
Hey Ian...when I move forward I seem to lose speed...what is weight distribution when moving up on board?...I think I'm putting more weight on elbows and less on tail...thanks
I would say just over your elbow with your shoulder. Not too much more than that needs to be over. To maintain speed you need to be completely centred on the board.
Heey Ian, its Johann here again on my wifes account haha. Whats the longest barrel you have ever ridden? And how are the quality of the waves at caves compared to some other spots you have been around cape town?
Hi Johann. Longest barrel has to be at Skeleton Bay a few years ago! It was a fun session and had missed a bunch earlier in the day then locked into one that rad for about 500m. Waves in CT are very good. It's just the cold water that starts to affect us all. Caves is a very good boogie wave but a lot of good quality waves around this area...
Hi Iain. Thanks for posting the video on barrel riding. Congrats on your recent victory in the APB good luck to you. When riding the barrel, what part of the wave is best for maintaining a good position to have a clean line?
Can you pick this one up again? I feel like you have done this on maneuvers with much more detail. Actually for me is the speed up part, or i dont get deep enough and come out (for me that’s a hat not barrel) or im deep enough and dont come out. Your stuff is killer.
I kinda feel to missed out how to pull up on you outer rail to stay up the wave face and not slide out or fully bottom turn out in the flats and get hit by the lip. (I know its says brief)
I have spent a lot of time in the water preparing myself. I work hard to stay fit and keep healthy and that way I can push my body to the limit, and ride waves that have consequences... it’s all down to experience and enjoyment.
Went body boarding for the first time today because I watched this video. Thank you so much dude!!

when you get closed out do you dive out the back of the wave or just send it and keep on going and get thrown off the board? thanks
sick vid btw
Depends on the situation bru. I am doing a video about that later in the year.
which part of the wave do focus on when your in the barrel? do you look down the line or at the pitching lip in front of you? thanks, sick vid btw
Depends a lot on the wave and where I am in the barrel.

the roll at the end to let the bros know he made it lol sick wave

I keep getting taken out by the internal shockwave. Any tips to push through this?
Don’t get so deep in the barrel. Kick faster and bottom turn quicker. That way you will be ahead of it.
@@iaincampbell_ I figured I was just getting out rushed but was a little worried about bad positioning. Dunes is fast!
Yeah some waves are just too fast and they end up swallowing you.
waht bodyboard do you recommend?
The Sniper Bodyboard Iain Campbell model.
Nice!!!!
I kinda feel to missed out how to pull up on you outer rail to stay up the wave face and not slide out or fully bottom turn out in the flats and get hit by the lip. (I know its says brief)
That’s where your legs come in and you use that outside hand to lift up ever so gradually. It’s mostly about hips, legs and control.
