Schau mal nach Sozialkaufhäusern & Second Hand-Shops. Alte PCs zu Glückspreisen findet man selten, aber Big Box-PC-Spiele aus den 90ern hab ich schon für 2€ bekommen. Man muss halt n bisschen suchen ;) We do have thrift stores in Germany, though there's not nearly as much tech-related stuff here as in Clint's Goodwills. Sometimes you can find some cheap old big box-games or other cool stuff, though.
Idk, in Greece we have antique shops but they're nothing like Goodwill. They're basically a random stuff from old times (usually older than 60s stuff) that some person decided to sell but they are all so dusty...and useless.
@@anonymouschicken20 I have since moved back to the US (hold dual citizenship) and have gone to a few goodwill locations. I can't find anything even close to what he finds. Maybe it is just my area. I do remember when I was a teen though (before internet was really a thing) and thrift stores would have all the cool old tech.
Glad you got The Getaway, severely overlooked game. Also in the days before Google streets and sat navs, the layout of London was so accurate int he game, I would actually plan going around London with it for meetings and stuff!!!
Also a little fact not many people will know. They took images of everything including my old firms skips that said Cleanaway on them. They didnt have permission to do this so Cleanaway sued them :P
11:57 that was a very strange encounter. It's like every being involved in that situation had no idea what to do with it, nor how to handle removing themselves from it.
You're not alone in loving miniature things, LGR. I spend hours in the art store poring over the dolls house furniture - teeny lamps that really work, food as small as a penny, even little books bound in leatherette on a wooden shelf. If only I had the room...
Mmm, same here, if I had the room I'd love an epic dollhouse. Gotten into Lego again lately and have been making houses, just love miniatures of all kinds.
Lazy Game Reviews You'd probably like Miniland in Legoland, there are hundreds of model cars, buildings and other things. Google actually has streetview imagery for Legoland in the UK, not sure about the US Legoland parks ;-)
Lazy Game Reviews What'd you think of "XY/XX Feel The Magic"? I recommend it's prequel, "The Rub Rabbits". Also how the hell did you get Pokemon Y outside of the auction section?
I think it's hilarious some of the stuff you pick up. Don't get me wrong, I'm truly am happy for you for finding stuff you enjoy and I enjoy watching these videos and going along for the ride and can totally understand where you're coming from, but every time you pick something up that I would personally have zero interest in, you say how you don't have it in your collection or it intrigues you or you rationalize it somehow and end up getting it. My favorite is when you find something like a Christian pc game from the early 90s for some obscure system and you snatch it up really quick. Gotta love somebody with that much passion. The world needs more of it.
Watching these videos is just like going on a thrifting trip myself; you go into each one not knowing what you'll find-- and that's definitely part of the allure that comes with going to thrift stores, flea markets, swap meets, etc. This was definitely an awesome haul. Lots of great PS2 games, and HOLY CRAP AN iMAC. Yeah, that got me eyes open wide this morning.
I remember Prodigy for Windows 3.1 on our 486 Packard Bell PC. We never used it but I was young and it intrigued me... Eventually out first internet was AOL. I went to some thrift stores recently due to your videos and I found a set of Golf Clubs for $26.00. I love these videos and looking forward to more!
Great prey! Feel the magic (or called Project Rub here in Europe) and the Rub Rubbits are absolutely insane und great games. You'll like the series. And congratz for the Mac.
Thanks for clearing up these episodes are composed of several days. I always thought that you just have a super fun day in which you visit these magical stores that always have interesting things in them. We don't have thrift stores in my country and I was so jealous!
How come rewatching these is almost an ASMR experience? I do hope Clint keeps on doing these, for himself, of course, but for our enjoyment as well! I do love the witty commentary as well.
Duuuude, Feel the Magic XY/XX was one of those few games for the DS really worth playing when it was struggling during it's first year. It's really just a collection of mini-games, but it's super weird and quirky and I love it.
It had a prequel too, called "The Rub Rabbits", which improved the pacing between minigames in Story mode, as well mbeing crazier than the previous title. I never managed to compleate both game at 100% because they were too hard for me, other than losing my DS Light because it broke. I'll never see the girl of Feel The Magic naked.
I have been hitting up my local Goodwill since watching these bits. So much fun! Recently picked up a PS2 multi-tap (always wanted one), and some classic PC games. Thanks as always for sharing your joy for classic nostalgia.
Well! I never thought I'd be sad I no longer lived in the Asheville, NC area, but I am. Sort of. That Second Chances Thrift Store supporting that animal rescue next door is a cause that is VERY close to my heart and I am so happy to see someone appreciate that kind of store for what it is. Makes me want to go thrifting, so thanks! I do need to start sifting through those stores for some VHS tapes to complete a particular collection (and maybe start a few more...), so there's that.
so jealous of the imac, throw an old copy of mame on there, the screen is godly looking for classic arcade games like pacman, the curve and all makes it look quite legit :).. wish I still had mine.
Well to be fair, any nice curved CRT display will do that (which is exactly why I keep some around.) But yeah, the iMac is cool for several other reasons too!
I like seeing the photos from other folks at the end. As someone who has visited these kinds of stores for years as well, it's fun to see what other people are able to find. Like that entire iMac, in this episode.
that thrustmaster joystick was my first "real" joystick. it made a real difference in playing x-wing and tie fighter on DOS. i had it for years and somehow lost in a move (or two). finally got something of a replacement in a thrustmaster t-flight.
That iMac find was insane! As always, awesome videos - love watching these...I'm actually watching these in reverse so it's been interesting watching that Goodwill get deconstructed
:D Been waiting patiently for episode 7. Good stuff, Clint! I actually went to a local Goodwills near my home today, and they had the entire collection of Sims 2 and all of the stuff packs and expansion. I wanted to get it, but they were saying 100$, so I said no. They also had a PS2 and all of the components, HOWEVER, they didn't have the controllers. Instead, they had PS3 controllers. So... I walked away with nothing, for now at least.
Thanks for keeping this awesome series going! As you said in the video, it has inspired me and many others to go out on our own thrift store adventures :)
I've been finding a good amount of 70s rock LPs at thrift stores lately, including prog rock ones. Snagged Jethro Tull's Aqualung and Asia's self-titled debut album for a dollar each!
Oh man! My dad made me and my brother a kitchen set out of wood when we were kids, too! We always loved that kind of stuff as kids. Fake cooking with plastic food and stuff. Cool to hear you did, too! Also, the Chocolate fountain, 50 shades of gray and the tampon part was GOLD. Perfect scene indeed!
I had a lot of fun with Sim Golf as a kid... I had almost completely forgot about it and this video gave me a bit of a nostalgia trip. I'd love to see you review it!
I remember my dad had a complete set of the Mark II Flight Control System. I spent so many hours on Falcon MC - F-16 Fighter Sim with those controls on his Macintosh back in the 90's.
Man, that prodigy thing reminds me of something we had.....I wanna say it was called Juno. I think it was just an email client, but the screen shot looks very similar! I think this was the best episode of Thrifts! Love this series!
I gasped at the iMac! So much nostalgia! My elementary school's entire computer lab was made up of those guys for the longest time. I always wanted one for home because I thought they were soooo cute. I remember after our typing lessons with some odd typing game that I'd either play in KidPix, play Oregon Trail, or go to this interactive site where you got to watch hip replacement, open heart, and all sorts of real surgeries. Oh man, those were the times.
I remember Prodigy from my early school days. Midway through school, they bought and set up a PC that had Prodigy, and during breaks or lunch, we'd all gather around and play in the game center. I still remember the Maze game fondly...
I just made the most embarrassing laugh when that tarzan game came up because I had that growing up! I still remember playing that with my older brothers on our gamecube and I'm p sure the game itself is over at my great aunts house with her gamecube. The nostalgia of your thrift videos is really something great(:
Lazy Game Reviews Please Review the game "dalmatians 3" for the PS2 ,I love this game, its So Bad, and Some of The Game Is constantly in German! [It is sooo Great( Sarcasm) YAY!]
That iMac brings me back, my first workplace in local newspaper had those. They still look incredibly cool their swappable colour plates. Picked up first Mobsters game with box sometime ago, haven't gotten around to try it tho.
Love your attitude of 'man, i heard this thing sucks, simply must get it' Btw i find these thrift episodes really amusing and charming. Keep em coming.
when i was younger i used to have a barbie case that was kinda like that (except it wasn't from the 60s.) i remember storing all of my ballet stuff in there.
jastro The Vinnies in Sydney don't sell electronics, it sucks :( The only Salvos I know of that does is in Tempe, near the damn aiport 2 hours way from where I lived/will live again
Singapore is worse. All we have here is Cash Converters and a serious phobia of old electronics. Finding old games is next to impossible and old consoles are just a no go.
I actually found an identical one, albeit without a box, at a flea market here for $20. The Apple logo alone keeps some from being sent straight to recycling.
7:43 trick trick was not local to nc, he was from detroit, he was eminem's little pet project back in like 2005, needless to say it didn't quite work out... how do I know? I used to frequent the local dimple records near my house all the time back then and also I watched/listened to music choice on tv a lot, that exposed me to a lot of stuff, both new and old... now petey pablo on the other hand, you should know who that is even if you're not into rap, he had that big hit back in 2001, "north carolinaaa!! come on and raise up!!" as everybody in the video twirled their shirts around in the air like helicopter propellers lol
More of these! I know it will be pretty expensive for you to make thrifts too often but just don't stop doing them because I really enjoy watching them! :)
I was at a used bookstore that also has an electronics section a day or two ago, and I found sealed jewel case copies of The Scroll and Laura Bow: The Dagger of Amon Ra.
Ooh, Thrustmaster! Thats a pretty solid joystick, had one as a kid. That is the way X-Wings were meant to be flown. I actually cut off the blue lense out of a pair of old anaglyph 3D glasses and used the red side as a targeting computer.
Makes me want to go thrifting! I'm big into nostalgia and retro video games like you dude. I even got a working windows 3.1 computer I pulled out of my aunts hose. Keep making the vids, I'm subscribed!
Are you interested in Living Books? They are these nicely done animated storybooks for the PC made during the mid 90s. There was one Living Books CD-ROM lurking on the media rack at the second Goodwill. 6:54
Ah man I love the iMac find. As a kid in elementary school, I absolutely loved it and sometimes went off to the computer lab to play a few games. Very jealous, yet very happy that you got it at such an awesome price.
Very nice finds, my friend! I'm loving the LGR Thrifts series. I just recently had my own epic thrift store luck, stumbled across a Gameboy Advance SP AGS-101 (With the brighter backlit screen) at a thrift store for 10 dollars, they even came down to 5 because the casing was badly scratched and it wouldn't turn on. I charged it (it was stone dead), and it works perfectly! I've even ordered a new casing on ebay to replace the scratched up one so I'll have it in a nice fresh case. Good luck and happy hunting!
After all there "LGR - Thrifts" videos I feel like the entire LGR community is really committed to seeing that Goodwill finish its expansion.
Agreed,. I actually enjoy the "linear progression of time" feeling as I see that particular Goodwill grow and expand more and more with each episode.
I laughed so hard between 4:39 and 4:41 that I busted my gut. "Ah, bless me. Thank me. I'm welcome."
That dog staring at the cat made me laugh I dunno why haha
I watched Code Lyoko, they aired it in the Netherlands as well. Loved the show, it had a very cool 'digital world' theme.
Where do you live, Goodwill County?
More or less. The headquarters of Goodwill isn't far from me!
LOL, Good one Goodwill County.
+AMD Athlon X4 860k Insert Processor joke
what speed do you run at? 2mhz?
Hey, my processor! What are you doing here?
Finding a Macintosh for $45 is like winning the lottery! Man, I wish we had thrift stores in Germany.

That barbie case sells for between $10-15 on ebay.
Most likely would cost that much just to ship it.
TheRetro1986 yes that's about right. Everything always has to be expensive
Honestly, it's very amusing to be able to track the Goodwill's construction progress. Love the series, though!
Glad you got The Getaway, severely overlooked game.
Also in the days before Google streets and sat navs, the layout of London was so accurate int he game, I would actually plan going around London with it for meetings and stuff!!!
The perfect Heist getaway simulation planning tool, il check that out if i ever see a copy, I like the map in True crimes NY but its heavily truncated
Also a little fact not many people will know. They took images of everything including my old firms skips that said Cleanaway on them. They didnt have permission to do this so Cleanaway sued them :P
larry,you are awesome:D
Great to hear! I remember hearing good things about it so I was psyched to find it.
kevinwoolford123
Same thing happened with BT I believe, they re-released the game with BT vans removed.
That Sims 3 zoom when he was on about Disney Infinity, haha
11:57 that was a very strange encounter. It's like every being involved in that situation had no idea what to do with it, nor how to handle removing themselves from it.
I am pretty sure this is my favorite channel on youtube. Never stop this series. I love LGR!

I love small versions of real things, I like shrinking crisp packets in my oven.
I saw some fairly simple instructions for making tiny, fake china plates online somewhere. They looked really convincing.
I wonder who won the staring contest, the cat or the dog?
Super Jelly of that iMac.
why?
brickman409 it is definitely not from 1998
Psivewri oh hi Psivewri! Love your channel!!!
You know, when you mentioned about Disney Infinity I was actually thinking, urrrrrr... the sims? then you brought up that pic lol
Hehe, very intentional irony.
Lazy Game Reviews What'd you think of "XY/XX Feel The Magic"? I recommend it's prequel, "The Rub Rabbits".
Also how the hell did you get Pokemon Y outside of the auction section?
Interestingly enough The Getaway artwork was different in the UK. I didn't even recognise the cover at first.
9:06 - Your reaction to that stick is priceless :D

This series is part an in depth look into your process of collecting, and part watching a Goodwill slowly become renovated. 10/10
That stare-down @11:57 😂😂😂
I know i'm like 7 years late but code lyoko is some serious nostagia 8:40
That Macintosh find is so awesome.

It was a good show. I'm glad I have all the episodes on my PC so I can watch anytime I want to.
It's kind of melodramatic and repetitive, not bad though
Dam good show
How come rewatching these is almost an ASMR experience? I do hope Clint keeps on doing these, for himself, of course, but for our enjoyment as well! I do love the witty commentary as well.
Do you have a special secret method for removing thrift store price stickers?
Just going slowly and meticulously, and a bit of Goo Gone!

I would agree with this. It's very Japanese and extremely strange and psychedelic. IMHO it's the perfect game for LGR to review.
Sonic Team made that game, if I am to be believed.
It had a prequel too, called "The Rub Rabbits", which improved the pacing between minigames in Story mode, as well mbeing crazier than the previous title.

"Rub, touch, shout, and blow". Every night.

Oh man dat iMac find..... awesome
This has quickly become a favorite series of mine, and I would of never guessed it would have been!
Those videos make me sad that there are no thrift stores where I live :(
Where I live is a little too much thrift stores like goodwill and stuff. But the shops are all local
Trust me, there's more than a fair share of thrift stores in the southwestern suburbs of Cleveland, OH.
I had a lot of fun with Sim Golf as a kid... I had almost completely forgot about it and this video gave me a bit of a nostalgia trip. I'd love to see you review it!
did you pick up the Star Trek Murder mystery game? I love TNG and never even heard of that.
I remember my dad had a complete set of the Mark II Flight Control System. I spent so many hours on Falcon MC - F-16 Fighter Sim with those controls on his Macintosh back in the 90's.
You left Hot Shots 3. You're the devil!
I know, I probably should've gotten that one!

Good luck and happy hunting!
ugh i just love this series.
10:00 - Lol i recently reviewed "How to use the internet" VHS tape and they showcased the prodigy program to connect to the web... lol nice find !
